Odd: #Braves have second-worst ERA in majors since All-Star break: 5.55. Small-sample-size fluke or sign of coming fatigue for young staff?
Wow!

Or a sign they were at coors field for 4 games

Glen my bet is if a starter went down Teheran will be called up to fill it …

There is the AAAA league that exists between AAA ball & MLB . Alot of player fit the 4A league ..We have alot of pitching prospects but none are of proven MLB quality & might just be 4A talent.. the ones Nolie listed earlier fit the 4A talent list …IMO

Nolee but with all this Beltran talk, if it’s for real they have to consider moving Heyward to CF a possibility. Or maybe that’s the hold up, and Jim Fergusi is watching Beltran to see if he is moving well enough to play CF

I still would Rather Have Bourne Than Blowtran. Given that Blowtran would be a 2 month rental who doesn’t run like he did in his PED days.

Schafer can’t be trusted leading off in Choptober. I’m Lusting for Bourne

Schafer has too many stretches where he goes 1-12 in 3 games and then 3-4 in the fourth game

FYI posted this last night….

ESPN ran something that said JJ is 5-0 when he throws FASTBALLS 60 PERCENT OF THE TIME.

So stay tuned.

The Bottom line is we need someone who can hit. Switch Hitter is huge but this doesn’t take care of our lack of speed or getting a leadoff hitter. however, Heyward is horrible and probably needs to go back down to the minors. (as I write this Heyward looks awful in his 1st at bat). We can keep thinking Heyward will get better (this year) but I just don’t see it. He looks so overmatched with major league hitting. Having Beltran would allow you the option to Bench Heyward. I like this deal. If the Braves developed hitters like they do pithers we could fill the need within but we don’t.

I think Beltran would be a guy that, barring injury, would come to Atlanta and actually perform well for the Braves. That said, I just don’t like the idea of trading a potential big league starter for a guy that will only be on the club for half of a season. I know it would cost more, but I would rather see us pay more for a younger guy (Pence) so that we don’t have to worry about Minor becoming a good pitcher and so we have a chance to evaluate the incoming talent and so we have more time to try to re-sign the guy.

I’ve been high on Heyward all year despite his struggles but if he doesn’t make some FREAKING ADJUSTMENTS as far as his approach to hitting balls that are pitched inside to him then he will never be the superstar we all expected. I think he will make adjustments but I am amazed its taking him this long to be honest. His approach has looked similar all year and thats a problem bc MLB pitchers made adjustments to get him out and now he has to make adjustments to get back to where he once was and farrrr beyond that…

Chicago Brave… I’m a clown because I don’t think minor is all that good? Really?? Most of baseball thought the Braves reached when they drafted him 7th overall and his numbers at the ML level aren’t impressive, but since you think they need to keep him, I guess that’s all that matters. Get a clue dummy, the Braves have plenty of arms ready to step in whenever needed. Minor is expendable and Beltran would be a great addition. If you’re too dumb to see that, not my problem.
