So would y’all rather have Conrad batting 6th? Or Nate? Because those are your only other options…

Either

Did Mario Mendoza ever hit 6th?

Yes. He actually hit in every spot in the lineup, including 4th and 9th, at some point in his career

Anyone remember when Jurjjens used to bring it up to 92-94 mph. I don’t think he needs that to be effective as he’s proven through the first half of this year. Watching this game against Cincinnati, it looks like he’s in slow motion… he’s barely touching 88..is he becoming a better pitcher out of necessicity b/c he doesn’t have that velocity anymore or is he choosing not to push his arm?

That is a total insult to Rafael Belliard, who actually had some great games for the Bravos.

i don’t understand why Alex the Rally killer is batting 6th. he should be batting 9th, behind the pitcher! every pitcher throws him outside and he tries to pull everything. what an incredible loser

If one of you’re main reasons for the Braves to not trade Minor is because he’s a lefty then #gokillyourself#..We have one of if not the best rotations in the MLB right now and how many lefty starting pitchers do we have right now??? Oh 0 that’s righttt. Not to mention the Braves just drafted Sean Gilmartin with their 1st round pick this year a LEFTY out of Florida St who like Minor has a very refined skill set and the Braves fully expect him to shoot up through their system in no time much like Minor did.

we don´t need beltran and his 2 month of rental…lets forget about been good for a couple of month….we are in the process to create a dinasty for years to come: j,j,, hanson, beachy, medlen, vizcaino, thjeran, delgado, minor…freeman, jheyw, prado, mac, ….trade one of the pitching prospect for a valuable oung talented position player…we don’t want a trade like the dodgers made in early 90’s (pedro martinez for delino deshields) do you remember it…or a adam ww for j.d. drew…IF WE HAVE TO DO IT…MAKE IT WORTH…find a young talented one…please

CJ – no way they re-sign Beltran. It’s a risk as is considering his history with injuries. I’d hate to invest a ton in him for a full (or several) season.

He’s merely a rental; and he’d be a good one if Minors is all we lose.

Prado is this club’s 3B for years to come. When Chipper will call it quits I think depends on how well they finish this year. That leaves that corner outfield spot open for free agency or by trade in the next year or two at the most. I think putting Schafer in a role similar to Nate’s right now would still give him sufficient AB’s while still learning and become a more balanced hitter. Teheran, Vizcaino, and Delgado all being RHP’s I think is irrelevant. The Braves have the 2nd lowest starter’s ERA in the league will all RHP’s. If the front office doesn’t feel Mike Minor will pan out as Jo Jo Reyes did not, then make the Beltran deal. Minor could be a carbon copy of Reyes (both have similar styles of a strike out pitch with good fastballs, good changeups, with a below average breaking balls). Both have had great Minor League numbers, but struggled at times with the big club. I trust the scouting directors know better than I do whether or not Minor will be a star or a bust.

The price it would take to get Beltran would not be worth the rental. We’d be giving top prospects to a division rival. I don’t think that Beltran puts us over the top of any other teams and I’m worried about him remaining healthy over the last two months playing CF nearly full time. I would much rather the Braves pull a trade off with the Padres for Ludwick and one of their relievers (Bell, Adams, Qualls). I know Ludwick isn’t the player that will send us to the WS but I don’t know that the price for Beltran is worth it once you add the fact that its a division rival.

Hey DOB…

What if the Braves trade for Michael Bourn, and then move Schafer to left field. Mclouth can be the fourth outfielder. Then you don’t have to give up on Schafer, and it gives you a ton of speed at the top of the order, and great defense in the field.

What do you think?Marc

What do I think? I think you forgot about Martin Prado.
