Nate went 2 for 5 Friday with a rbi and a bomb today. sure like him in that 7th hole he gets a few more pitches and has some power.

Sherrill pitched with a 1 run lead over O’ Flaherty, and Venters for what reason? This loss is squarely on the fat broad shoulders of Sherrill for being the useless pitcher that he is, and also Fredi Gonzalez for putting in a weak pitcher with such a small lead instead of the guys that have shut down hitters all year long.
Sherrill has been very good all year,and it was the 6th inning….oventrell pitch 7 ,8,and 9 .

My man, Nate! Steve, you are correct in that they give you about the same. But, we can’t have both of them in the lineup and neither one of them should sniff the top 6 in the order. Either one would be okay if we had a better option at the other spot. I don’t think the Braves should stick with both of them if they can find a better alternative. Can’t have a guy with a .293 OPS and .610 OPS leading off!

nolie–that’s about it, really. Throw that out, and they’re both just a couple of guys who can’t hit and both play D very well. Schafer runs much better. Just posing a rhetorical question for the Schafer haters.
And yes, once a prospect hugger, always a prospect hugger.

Steve from OH – I can tell you one difference. Schafer has 1 HR is 200 PA and Alex Gonzales has 31 HR’s in the last two years. You adjust it any way you’d like, but like yesterday, a 2 run dinger comes as a pleasant surprise every now and then.
