Mike Remlinger had an amazing season. He had a 1.99 ERA, with a 1.12 WHIP in 68 innings.
July 1st, 201112:36 am
Good for you to be able to post stats, keylargo.
Do you want an effin cookie or a pat on the back for your efforts?
key, i am and my family is from new smyna beach. got there in the 70’s.
if you know the place they were onE of the original owners in the PELICAN.
key – reality aren’t you pretty much gulf side as well LOL
July 1st, 201112:38 am
Trey, you should learn how to post stats. Might cause you not to embarrass yourself quite as much.
KEY, going to santa rosa island here soon. never been there. how is it?
July 1st, 201112:41 am
uga – I think Santa Rosa Island is near Pensacola. But I don’t know anything about it. Tiger may. I thought you were going to Key West on your next trip?
July 1st, 201112:48 am
keylargo, good one. Why don’t you let Ward teach you a little something about baseball. Maybe you can learn a thing or two.
July 1st, 201112:53 am
santa rosa stretches from ft pickens all the way to the destin pass so not sure where he is…most well known for p’cola beach but includes navarre – lovely place to visit
July 1st, 201112:54 am
Ghost of Greg Norton: I’ve never met anyone who had even the slightest problem with Matt Diaz, quite possibly the nicest, most down-to-earth professional athlete I ever met. Seriously, he got along with EVERYone. His clubhouse reputation was a big reason he had multiple teams make him offers after a really mediocre season, including two-year offers.
July 1st, 201112:56 am
Tiger, are there any real nice places in Panama City that don’t have all of the hotels along the beaches? I haven’t been in a long time, but I do remember the hotels across the beach.
July 1st, 201112:58 am
don’t know much about PCB that is way east of my stomping grounds…you looking to party/troll on the beach with tons of condos/relax on the beach with houses?
Bat has much more knowledge than I do
July 1st, 20111:01 am
tiger, it’s way west to where I am used to. I am mostly used to Amelia Island to St. Augustine.
July 1st, 20111:03 am
tiger, doing the carnival thing out of mobile. got two days left and we are going to head west. thought pensacola was the closest.
actually have booked the hilton there. any thoughts?
July 1st, 20111:04 am
so if you want to party PCB is probably best – if you want relaxing houses/beaches not big crowds you want between destin & PCB (seaside/watercolor places like that). Destin is less party but still tons of people. P’cola is less tourist and more locals with tons of military. And don’t forget Orange Beach to Gulf shores (and perdido key) basically smaller version of destin
July 1st, 20111:05 am
trey, st. aug is awesome. that little downtown area they have is just right.
July 1st, 20111:07 am
tiger, I am not a party person. I do enjoy Destin. Beautiful waters. Yeah, P’Cola is full of Sailors in their initial training outside of boot camp. I heard a lot of stories about P’Cola.
July 1st, 20111:08 am
uga-brave, definitely. Have you ever been to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum? It is really impressive.
July 1st, 20111:09 am
uga – you coming back to atlanta? Orange Beach/Gulf Shores is closer to mobile (I think they have a hampton on the beach) and a little easier to get back to 65 (and home). Not much difference between them probably more things to do in gulf shores/orange beach (check to see if there is a concert at the wharf in orange beach). But I did love P’cola.
tiger, thanks. not a pcb beach guy. not my style. been to seaside, been to watercolor. just a two day stint.
actually i am hooked up at tiger point to play golf.
July 1st, 20111:10 am
trey – got plenty of pilots as well. Its funny all the small town girls lined up at the bars looking for their ticket out of town. It is absolutely an officer and a gentleman (maybe thats the wrong reference)
July 1st, 20111:13 am
uga – that first post was in response to trey…when are you going? I loved P’cola (lived there for an incredible year) but if you want to do something other than golf.lay on the beach gulf shores/orange beach might suit you better. That being said its been quite a few years since I’ve lived there so take what I say with a grain of salt. Where is P’cola Brave when you need him LOL
July 1st, 20111:14 am
tiger, of course. They know those young Sailors just outta boot camp are desperate to find a woman and those women want a steady pay check. They meet and two weeks later they get married, or something like that. Eh, the reference is fine. Officers are known as the gentlemen.
July 1st, 20111:15 am
tiger, pilot wise my roomamate at georgia and this is in the 80’s father was a eastern pilot. huge strike.
for those that dont remember eastern airlines.
either way he is a pilot for UPS. left seat night flyer.
July 1st, 20111:16 am
trey – it was a movie reference richard gere I think as a military pilot
July 1st, 20111:18 am
Yeah, I know that movie tiger. Good movie.
July 1st, 20111:19 am
your roomate or his father is the pilot now? gotta love that UPS gig from what I hear. Cargo doesn’t complain about turbulance or delays nearly as much.
July 1st, 20111:20 am
tiger, i dig laying on the beaach and reading a book. should be happy.
thanks for the 411. quiet is good. really good.
July 1st, 20111:22 am
tiger, nor does cargo get furlouged. roomate, best friend since highschool.
July 1st, 20111:23 am
yeah any of the beaches there just drive down away from the hotels/condos and park at one of the parks and you won’t know there is anyone else in the world
July 1st, 20111:24 am
tiger not only that. he was there before the public offering and got a ton of stock.
well the divorce thing took half, but he still made out.
July 1st, 20111:25 am
I was lucky my divorce happened before I had anything…granted 16 years of child support sucked but that is over now.
July 1st, 20111:27 am
for all you young married guys, find a good attorney. if you make any money find two.
July 1st, 20111:28 am
yeah and I’m gonna do it again…with a lot more at risk this time
July 1st, 20111:29 am
uga-brave, I’m not married, nor am I in any rush to get married, but when I do, I will definitely think about that. Prolly just sign a Prenuptial agreement.
July 1st, 20111:31 am
this dude scripts out a check for $4200.00 a month. yeah after taxes.
never underestimate your spouse. half, they know the digits. they know friends that got set up. they go out together. half.
July 1st, 20111:32 am
trey – yeah with mine that is such a fight I’m not sure if I’ll deal with it. Might end up being a dumb move but time will tell
Good luck with everything, tiger.
July 1st, 20111:33 am
uga – eddie murphy… HALF!!!
July 1st, 20111:34 am
trey – thx it will work out how its supposed to
July 1st, 20111:35 am
Hello every one! Whats up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jurrjens for Kemp or no thank you would be my recommendation. And sign Kemp long term
uga – the way I look at it one scenario is for sure child support for 16 years vs. maybe HALF
July 1st, 20111:36 am
ok ward is here I’m going to bed LOL
July 1st, 20111:37 am
tiger, scary part is the wife is an attorney would not even see it coming. might have to call in braveheart to rep me.
July 1st, 20111:39 am
tiger, you said it. is ward real?
July 1st, 20111:41 am
Hell, Yes Ward is real!
July 1st, 20111:43 am
It sure will, tiger.
Hey Ward. I mentioned you earlier.
July 1st, 20111:47 am
Trey:Here’s what I would do? trade Nate, Agone, and Lowe for a bat with power or speed, and throw in a player to be named later.
July 1st, 20111:49 am
McLouth isn’t of All Star caliber, but he unfortunately made it once. Trey
he was all-star quality that year. He had the highest OPS of all NL CFers in 2008. Third highest in all of baseball among qualified CFers. That’s an all-star AFAIC.
July 1st, 20111:52 am
Make a small joke! Nates numbers were good until he got the contract!
ATL For Life
July 1st, 20111:54 am
Exactly what team is going to take roughly 27.5 million in money owed over the next 2 years combined of those 3 players AND give us the bat you wish for ward???
Aye, Nolie. You’re right. He’s never really been much more than average overall, besides that season.
July 1st, 20111:56 am
Ward, I know what you would do. I’ve seen your plans on trades!
July 1st, 20111:57 am
Lesson here in baseball. Think before you sign!
July 1st, 20111:58 am
yup one very good year, a couple years just a bit above average and now two bad ones.
Oh well he will be gone next year and we will move on to somebody else to fuss about
July 1st, 20112:01 am
Nolie, heck a lotta folks fuss over Jones, a HoF player, yet one of the rare times I fuss about someone like McLouth, one of his ass kissers tries to put me down.
Jones will not make the HOF
July 1st, 20112:02 am
Trey My wish list
1. Coco Crisp
3. Josh Willingham
4. A. Escobar SS or
5.David DeJesus RFand,
6.B.J. Upton, any one of these guy’s I would want or two. Players at good cost. There are others, but to high priced for this year.
July 1st, 20112:03 am
nolee, i pull for nate to leadoff too. that said he has to start hitting.
July 1st, 20112:04 am
Nolie, you don’t think he will? I’m sure he will.
Ward, didn’t you want to get Pujols too?
July 1st, 20112:05 am
no trades coming. those that think medlen will be the answer in the bullpen need to keep hoping.
July 1st, 20112:06 am
divorce sucks. she shakes her booty on weekends, forcing me to babysit the damn kid.
she gets stuck with the regret during the week. the little goalie slipper is at school during the week. then in daycare until 6. goes to bed at 8ish. she has to deal with the little trap for an hour a morning 4 days a week, and for 2 hours a night 4 days a week. 12 waking hours a week she tolerates the brat. i keep the little mistake from the time she leaves school on friday afternoon until i take her to school on monday morning. 35 waking hours for moi with the little ruckus. 3 times as much time wasted with the big mistake than the biggest mistake wastes with the big mistake. but i pay child support and live in a tenement. she has the house. i am a loser.
July 1st, 20112:07 am
nor will medlen be ever considered to be in the rotation.
no. in fact I am willing to bet on it Trey. He will be somewhat like Murph, considered too short term great to make it IMO.
He has killed his chances the past 5 years hitting barely over 210
July 1st, 20112:08 am
Hell no…….. Next year I want Zimmerman or David Wright. You could throw in Ellsbury, but I don’t think Boston would give him up.
July 1st, 20112:09 am
I don’t think it matters all that much where any of them hit UGA.
What difference can it make what order all them sub-300 OBPs hit in?
don sutton's poodle perm
July 1st, 20112:11 am
long live skip caray!
miss the professor…..
don sutton’s poodle perm?
what’s the deal with that?
He may not be a first round HOF’er, but I am sure he will get in eventually. Career wise, he has been way too good offensively. His defense hasn’t been the greatest, but his hitting has always been impressive.
July 1st, 20112:14 am
thank the baseball gods for the dinger. we live with it.
why not give nate 10 games leading off. he could not do worse.
July 1st, 20112:15 am
Career wise, he has been way too good offensively. His defense hasn’t been the greatest, but his hitting has always been impressive…..Trey
ok I’m sorry Trey, because we were talking CFers earlier when you said Jones I thought you were referring to Druw.
Yeah Chipper will get in, no question. Maybe first round even, depends on who else is on the ballot
July 1st, 20112:16 am
Andruw Jones could get inHOF,but it will take a while.
July 1st, 20112:17 am
lead nate off. how hard is it to do. he gets on base.
July 1st, 20112:18 am
Oh my fault Nolie. I shoulda been more specific. I always liked Druw, too, but I know he won’t make it. He’s completely washed up like a beached whale. Looks like one, too.
July 1st, 20112:19 am
I really think Wren needs to make a big splash, because if he doesn’t? It’s a long ride home for the Braves back from the first round. It’s just the way I feel.
Yunel's Frosted Tips
I’d rather Wren stand pat than do another middle of the road / washed up guy trade. Getting another Ankiel or Derrick Lee type is useless….Go big or don’t go at all.
I doubt he will get in ward, which makes me sad cause I was a big fan of Druw
July 1st, 20112:20 am
Bench AOut,and bat Lugo lead off, and then Schafer.
July 1st, 20112:21 am
Minor and Nate to the Yankees for Brett Gardner and an A prospect…………he’s a Carolina boy you know
His numbers are a lot like Murphy’s.
wouldn’t mind someone like Ankiel. RHed hitter who could platoon with Schafer or Nate. He would likely pick it up away from SD’s killer park. Obviously would not give up much of anything though
July 1st, 20112:22 am
nate .342 obp vs. schafer .295.
July 1st, 20112:23 am
Big salary dump for us……..they get a pitcher they need badly……..and we get a guy who can hit .280 and leadoff.
July 1st, 20112:24 am
First time today 2 major sports have been locked out at once…….
July 1st, 20112:25 am
Yunel’s Frosted Tips: Agree with your 2:19am POST……………
anndruw is off limits.
Nolee…………you mean Ludwick don’t you?
Gardner is onea them guys who could die in the Ted most likely just like Melky and Nate did. and he is another LHer. and why would they swap Nate for Gardner anyway?
July 1st, 20112:26 am
Base could be locked out this Dec. If agreement isn’t reached too.
meant to say baseball.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$……………that’s why…………we are cheapskates remember..yalll are in love with Nate’s pretty hair………admit it
July 1st, 20112:27 am
yes YFT I do mean Ludwick. Thank you.
How ’bout what Buster said about other GMs speculating that the Braves might trade JJ for a big bat?
smoltz, madddux, glavine, chipper, javy, andruw, and bobby are off limits.
July 1st, 20112:28 am
I was thinking we might deal J.J. with all the pitching depth…………….but man………that would have to be a good bat the way JJ is going now
July 1st, 20112:29 am
nah they ain’t gonna dump Nate just to save 3mil at this point unless they get a pretty decent CFer
July 1st, 20112:30 am
The women were crazy about Javy Lopez…………he’s the Brave they all talked about for years
We do have good pitching, and Jar, does have a high priced agent for next year. I would maybe go along with it? Just maybe…….
yeah we would need to get a good hitter who we would control for at least a coupla years. I will be surprised if it happens too, but i see a certain allure at this point.
July 1st, 20112:34 am
I’m not so sure that his agent will be a determining factor.
If they even think about dealing him it will more likely be because he is about as valuable right now as ever and perhaps a bit because they worry about his injury history at a young age and/or do not see him continuing to pitch so much better than his peripherals.
I like him and have mixed feelings about it, but for the RIGHT guy I guess I would do it
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
