MiaBchBravesFan, so, what are you saying? That Chipper should retire? Provide some indication that he’s “done,” please.

This will be another 10+ K day for the Braves…looks like.
Maybe we get a solo shot (or two) and Lowe has a great game.

Hey, at least the Braves won’t get no-hit today.

Gotta look for the positives on days like today…

Looks to be another 5 – 6 start for the Braves’ starter…D. Lowe already at 48 pitches.

I have to admit, Heyward has been a complete disappointment this year. I was hoping for something at least close to last years production.

Too bad John Candy died before he got to make his big screen version of “A Confederacy of Dunces.”

Stinger, was that in the works, really? If so, I never knew that. You’re right, that would have had some potential.

Poor Uggla. Pitchers know he’s struggling, so he’s gonna be reluctant to swing at the first pitch, and it’s just strike-one-looking nearly every AB, it seems. And he probably can’t get right if he’s swinging early too much.

Are you serious?? I love the bunt idea. I will grant that it was poorly placed but that third baseman would never have thrown him out. He has bunted for a base hit before because they never suspect it of a catcher. He just didn’t get it down the line enough.

Will it be a 3 pitch strikeout? If he can get a 4 pitch strikeout, Man what a huge accomplishment that would be. Imagine Gonzalez fouling a pitch off or taking a ball.

Shaun,

If managers don’t do the things yuou said they should be doing, how is tere any data to show that they are optimal? If you cite research to back your opinion, then you need to base it on experiment. Without experiment there is no data and hence no real research.

Schafer has resembled his 2009 performance over the past few weeks and that is nothing to brag about.

Actually, it’s been the entire Month of June… and it’s been worse than his 2009 MLB season… when he was injured with a broken wrist: .211/.257/.316/.573 23 K’s to 6 BB on June. He’s terrible and the team could use a real ball player in his roster spot

@VaBravesFan…..Ross, with his power potential–yes, I don’t think a bunt was in order…..especially this early. I just think he could have driven a double there and we would have really been in business. Seems the Braves are having a time getting the bunting thing just right this season.

Ross is not slow footed….he is not like McCann. He has successfully bunted for a base hit on a number of occasions just as McCann has when they put the shift on him. Ross is dead pull so the third baseman plays him DEEP. If you can get it down the line…the a rh pitcher falling off toward first can’t get there.
