Can we trade MLB Network Chip Caray for Smoltz? Watching Sox & Phils and John is rather enjoyable to listen to.

Parrish is on the new “on the job training” program the Braves have started. Really, if they couldn’t find a whatta you call it , established hitting caoch, than why even replace TP?

Course this wouldn’t even be thought of if the guys weren’t at the bottom of the league in certain offensive spots.

Dead pull hitter on that rare occassion when he does hit it. He has been that way since he got here and he is not going to change.

He’ll get two or 3 hits in one game every now and then when we are up by 5 or more runs just to keep all those ofer nights from showing up so badly!

Went with family to Braves/Mariner game last night. What a blast.
1. My Purple Heart son came from his base for the game and caught a ball from McCann in batting practice.
2. Tons of people in Braves gear.
3. McLouth catch was awesome – it was right in front of us.
4. Freeman hitting bombs in batting practice – not surprised he hit one.
5. Heyward good to kids during batting practice.
6. During the game, lots of talk from Mariner faithful on “Who is this Beachy? where did you find him? He’s awful good.”
7.The McLouth near home run was 5 feet in front of us.
8.Kimbrel was filthy. Mariner fans really started streaming out after his first strikeout.
9. McCann game home run came right to us. We ended up on ESPN sportcenter
http://vod.espn.go.com/motion/2011/0628/dm_110627mlb_braves_mariners.mp4
(my son is wearing the bright green sweatshirt)
10. Chone Figgins was booed from the time they announced the lineup….
But just about the coolest part was all us NW Braves fans greeting each other, happy to see the Braves in person. You saw Braves gear all day on the waterfront, the market. People drove over from Montana.

It must have been 11 years ago, the guy I was coaching Little League with suggested we take our team to the McCann’s hitting academy. I didn’t know such a thing existed, thinking we were way ahead of what I grew up with as we had batting cages at our field. Late in the session, the other coach comes over and points out this cherub faced, chubby kid and says it’s the owner’s son and that he’s a really good hitter. With one look, I’m thinking that must mean Div 3 prospect, free agent signing, if he’s lucky. If you had told me that that player would become a perrinial All-Star and Iconic Brave, then I would probably have bet my house against it. In 40 plus years, there’s no other home grown talent who comes close. I should have gotten his autograph while I had the chance.

Sometime late this afternoon when I reread the initial commentary….well, as a result, I am a big enough person to apologize sincerely to Noleee and anyother individuals affected by my antagonism and miffed commentary–it won’t happen again, I can assure you all. At a later date I will explain to anyone what happened to me last night–and the subsequent effect that had on my is well chronicled now and regretfully evident.
