IS NOT THE PITCHERS…ARE THE PLAYERS(HITTERS)…A POOR PITCHER FROM OTHER TEAM..LOOK LIKE A HALL OF FAMER WHEN PITH AGAIN ATLANTA…JUST WHEN OUR PITCHERS MAKE A GREAT PITCHING GAME..ATLANTA WIN, NOT MATTER THEY DON’N HIT, BUT IF THE OTHER TEAM HIT LIKE LAST NIGHT…FORGETED…ATLANTA NEVER WIN…THEY ARE NOT PATIENT AT THE HOME PALY AND ALWAYS…AND I SAID ALWAYS THEY ARE TRYING TO HIT BALL OUT SIDE UP OR IN THE SAND OF THE HOME PLATE…AND WHERE ARE THE MANEGER AND THE HITTER COACH..NOT WHERE AND THAT WAS THE SAME PICTURE LAST YEAR AND THE SAME THIS YEAR….WAO!!!…HELLO!!!
We know our strength has been our pitching, particularly relief pitching.
Here our our weaknesses in no particular order
#1. Lack of fundamentals
#2. Not being able to play small ball
#3. Selfish ABs and not working the count.
#4. Derek Lowe having those 3-5 run innings
#5. Kimbrel giving up walks and not going after batters that are overmatched
#6.Lack of Speed on the bases
#7. Uggla trying to pull Everything…… did you see how his bat flew into the stands. (Try goin opposite field sometime!!!!!!!!!!!)
#8. Killing innings with double-plays
#9. lack of fire and intensity
#10. Allowing nobodies to pitch career games against us.
For those saying that this Braves team is the most boring to watch, you obviously weren’t around in the 80’s. Is it pathetic watching this team play great ball for 5-6 game stretches and then fall completely on their faces for the next 5-6 games? Absolutely. Is it frustrating seeing this team have one of the best starting pitching staffs and the best bullpen in the game and only being 9 games above .500? Hell yes it is.
With all that being said, this team is no where near as boring as the Atlanta Braves of the 80’s. Doesn’t mean that this team isn’t brutal to watch at times, but they are not then Braves of old. I will not make excuses for them, they are an average team at best and no where near a WS contending team. They have the pitching staff to be a contending team, but other pieces are missing. They can play great against the good teams, then fall on their faces against poor teams with no pitching. I don’t get it at all, but I won’t make excuses for them. Afterall, the Phillies managed to stay ahead of the pack when Utley was out for a while to start the season, how come the Braves can’t do it when Prado is out for a while? That is the difference between a average team (Braves) and a division winning and WS contending team (Phillies).
So Lowe would only take back one pitch he made the whole night. The gent must have low (pun intended) expectations. As I recall, Smoltz, Maddux, and Glavine would be very angry with themselves if they gave up more than 1 or 2 runs in a game. Their expectations were high…..just like Halliday, Hamal, and Lee’s are high. You go out there expecting to shut out the other team. Enough of this “I’ll just try to keep the team in the game” pap. Managers need high expectations, too. Yes, Lowe is capable of pitching a great game, but more often than not he gets rocked. I say trade him for a decent bat.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Prado is out until after the All-Star break, if not much longer. Can anyone confirm this? From what I know about staph infections this serious, they are trying to downplay the severity.
Prado was cleared to begin hitting off tee yesterday. Incision is nearly closed now. If he’s cleared to begin running and baseball activities in next few days, there’s a chance he’ll be back before All-Star break.
People let’s take it easy a little we ar a WS series contending team, we have pitching but all we need is Hunter Pence but even if we don’t get him this is a good team and I hope Tommy Hanson will be okay and we have to just find a replacement for derek Lowe because these hitters see now that he isnot throwing strikes and hitters are be patient with him and when u are patient with Lowe u have good results because his stuff is not overpowering! I just also hope Chipper and the team stays healthy

You lose 11-2 and Fredi is complaining about Lowe not getting run support??? I don’t get it, does he assume 12 runs/game is the norm?

“On inconsistent offense
“It seems like we do this every time. We’ll score a few runs, then run into a good pitching performance.”
Excuse me, but that sounds like “consistent,” not “inconsistent.”
