There is some fool posting under my name. I know I stink and should rightfully return the money I’m being paid but it’s expensive to look this silly and also pay the trainer and nutritionist that makes me look so good in my uniform. Once again I apologize to all the Brave fans,Liberty, frank Wren the city of Atlanta, The state of Georgia and the Southeast United States. I’ll heat up next march.

The headline reads:

“Braves ‘pen is best, now can it hold up?”

I guess the answer to that question is “YES” (provided Asencio doesn’t pitch anytime soon).

But in all seriousness, let’s not let the 11 runs allowed mask the fact that this team still can’t hit. 11 runs or 3 runs….. we were still losing tonight once the Padres scored their 3rd run.

But here’s something to think about.

When Hanson comes back is it time to either trade Derek Lowe (if anybody would actually take him off our hands), or simply move him to the bullpen and have a 15 million dollar setup man?

Because from my angle, I’d rather have both Beachy and Minor in the rotation over Lowe at this point. Don’t believe me? Check it out….

I’m not counting Minor’s first start of the year since there was almost a month and a half between his 1st start and his second start.

Since he was recalled after that first start (a few trips between the big club and AAA), he has made 6 starts.

29 IP, 12 ER (3.72 ERA) add in 24 K’s for good measure (though I realize Lowe isn’t a strikeout pitcher). If you take out the 5 ER he gave up against the Mets 2 starts ago, that ERA drops to 2.56 in the other 4 starts with 21 K in 24.2 IP. The Braves have gone 3-2 in the 5 starts since his 1st start on April 5th before getting sent back down.

Lowe on the other hand? In his last 5 starts dating back to May 28th?

26.1 IP, 16 ER (5.46 ERA), 13 K (again, I get he’s a sinkerballer).

And if you go back to May 1st (his last 10 starts)?

56.1 IP, 29 ER (4.63 ERA)

Now, in fairness to Lowe, the Braves are 7-3 in those 10 starts.

But like I said. I’m not so sure it’s not time to see what a rotation of Hudson, Hanson, JJJ, Minor and Beachy can do. Lowe’s 15 million dollars be damned.

Of course, reality states that this will NEVER happen. But a guy can dream, can’t he?

Either way, if Wren doesn’t fix this lineup, it really doesn’t matter if Campillo and JoJo Reyes are thrust back into our rotation.

Announcing… the latest in great literary works…. THE FRANK WREN TRILOGY!

BOOK #1 — THE YEAR OF HELL….The story of veteran journeyman Greg Norton, who at age 37 is legally adopted by his manager and goes on to an 11 for 76 campaign….

BOOK #2 — 2 YEARS OF HELL….The story of famed Geisha owner Kenshin Kawakami, brought in as a goodwill gesture in the name of American baseball. After 8 wins and 22 losses over 2 seasons, Kenshin goes to Mississippi where he presently serves as a busboy cleaning grits off pots but making $6.7 million!

BOOK #3 — 3 YEARS OF HELL…. The story of high school Spanish teacher and hair stylist Nate McLouth, who ends years of success in the rugged Iron City by coming to Atlanta and showing his true colors. Live the struggles as this formerly successful professional goes through the hell of traffic jams between Atlanta and Gwinnett, and how he has to spend most of his $5 million salary in 2010 on gasoline!

BOOK #4 — 4 YEARS OF HELL… The story of aspiring drag racer Derek Lowe, spurred onto the Atlanta scene not by his past success, but by the $60 million contract dangled at him by good ol’ Frank. Live through the drama as Derek tries to figure out ways to laugh openly at the Braves organzation without anyone finding out!

AND NOW… THE LATEST IN THE TRILOGY….

BOOK #5 — 5 YEARS OF HELL…. The story of bodybuilder Dan Uggla, who takes his secret desire to become a human helicopter from South Beach and dupes Frank into thinking he’s actually a baseball player! See all the conspiracy theories associated with his trade and new $62 million deal, including how Uggla is actually related to Bernie Madoff!

Actually, scratch that. I forgot to add in tonight’s numbers for Lowe.

In his last 11 starts, he’s gone:

62 IP, 34 ER (4.94 ERA) and the Braves are 7-4 in those 11 starts.

Wanna know the scariest part about the numbers I just typed?

In Kawakami’s final 11 starts last year (you know….. before being banished to mop up minor league reliever duty?), he did the following:

59 IP, 30 ER (4.57 ERA).

“Yikes” doesn’t begin to describe how disturbing that is.

Here are the only 3 differences that I can find in Lowe’s last 11 starts and KK’s final 11 starts with the big club.

1) Braves are 7-4 in Lowe’s 11 starts. They were 5-6 in KK’s.

2) Lowe is making 15 million and KK was making around 7 million.

3) Lowe actually has a track record of being successful and should be given SOME slack due to how well he pitched from September through the playoffs last year.

Other than that…..

If Steve Phillps can find a job after doing what he did to get fired from ESPN, then Riggleman should have no problems at all.Frank from KS (now living in CO) [from last night]

I never said that Riggleman wouldn’t be able to find work. I said that he MAY have burned his managerial bridges. There are only 30 MLB manager’s jobs on the planet. I’m not so sure that any GM will consider him in the future.

Riggleman doesn’t have a very good managerial record, for one thing. After walking away from a signed contract before the All-Star break, especially with the club doing so well, supposedly because his 2012 option has been picked up yet,
MAY prove to shut the door on any future managerial opportunities.

We can only comment on what is being reported. Maybe there’s more to the story that hasn’t come out yet. There usually is.

As far as work goes, I’m sure Riggleman will have no problem there. As a matter of fact, I’ve heard there’s a sopapillaporium that may be opening, soon. Word on the Blog is that they may interview Riggleman for a job.

We should have moved Lowe this off-season while he still had value. After these past couple of starts, how much is Lowe worth to a contender in need of pitching? Especially with that ridiculous salary.

And something’s got to change with the Braves offense. Career-wise, these guys are mostly productive hitters. Not this year though. Do you think the Fredi and Frank have even discussed the possibility of dismissing Parrish?

Many of you were aganist my idea for trading this retard while he had some value but now with his pathetic performance no one will want this rubbish. Now we can’t make spot for Teheran or Minor and we are also stuck with his 15mil contract.

Who here still thinks that Lowe will help us in the playoffs? This guy is nothing but a mop up man in his career. Piece of worthless cow waste he is, Because of him we ARE NOW 5 OUT OF THE DIVISION. There goes our hopes for division title. Derek Lowe is worthless.
