There is such a huge swing of emotions on this board. If I only looked at this board, and never watched a game or looked at the standings, I would be convinced the Braves were a single digit win team.

Time will tell whether the offense will come around and help the pitching, but it’s hard for me to understand why so many people would invest so much time in the Braves when it clearly makes their lives so completely miserable. Sit back and enjoy the ride people. This team is pretty darn good, and if their offense comes around they might even be great. Be thankful you aren’t pulling for the Astros or the Cubs or something, they would kill to have a team like the Braves to cheer for.

i will make this more clearly..
if we get pence, who drives him in?
if we get kemp, who does he drive in?
if kemp or pence played last night, who did they drive in?
kemp and pence have mor rbi,s because duh, there have been men on base.braves can not hit as a team.

Well, I am glad I was out for most of that game last night. Turned if off when Chipper couldn’t get the ball out of his glove in the bottom of the 6th.

Went to Billy Jack’s BBQ & Shrimp last night before he closed for good. The food was great, and he is a very nice guy. Wish him the best, and wish he would bring that good eating up to Dawsonville.

Lew. The Dodgers have a worse offense than the Braves overall. And Kemp has 21 homers. He has knocked in 20% of their runs. But yes, that is one of the intangibles.

NC Fan..based on this year, will Pence and Kemp get on base more than McLouth or Schafer, yes. I assume you’d bat Pence or Kemp 3rd or 4th, between Chipper and McCann. They’d drive in Chipper and get driven in by McCann.

No you didn’t, NC FAN. You immediately followed your post about Lowe with, “The players are not worried, why are most of you posters worried?”

If you MEANT the Braves, then that’s fine. I’m still one of the really, laid-back 4.32 posters that isn’t worried. Not about Lowe, the Braves, or what poster is running around here at only .32 of a person.

That’s funny..One inefficient game does not a choke make..the players are not robots, they’ll have bad games. You just want them to have more good games than bad. Chances are Jurrjens will get absolutely rocked some game this year. But he’ll have far more good games than bad. Sometimes the hitters get evaluated more strictly.

Lowe is a decent enough pitcher, at times he can be great, usually he’s mostly average. But he unravels faster than a 2 dollar dress. He may be a good interview but he borders on being a nut case on the mound. He doesn’t want to be bothered by McCann or McDowell coming to the mound, never mind that he’s pitching like he’s on a timer and the game is getting away from him. Can’t believe he yelled out f#@k when he saw Roger coming out to talk to him last night. I can definitely picture him behind the wheel of a sports car in his flip flops and you’re in his way. It ain’t gonna be pretty.

Cont…

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! A half-asleep Chase Utley first yelled “Dude!”
then more softly….”dude”….”it’s ok big guy.”

Ryan Howard turned over in the bed. The terror in his eyes was there again as he whispered “Chase, I had the dream again…the one about Wagner coming back.”

Chase looked distant. “Look Big Guy…you can’t worry about the guy”

Howard…more composed now only said…”I know…I know.”
“Chase?
“yeah Big Guy.”
“Hold me.”
“Always, big guy.”

The two teammates then drifted off to sleep…but it was a troubled sleep, filled with visions of a Braves bullpen they could not defeat.

With our game last night falling apart, I didn’t even bother checking in ’cause I knew the blog would be full of hateful, negative and outlandish comments from all the juvenile posters that can’t put professional baseball into any kind of realistic perspective.

After just catching up, I’m glad I didn’t waste my time. It used to be fun and imperative to check in before, during and after each game to have some fun banter, educated back-and-forth opinion sharing, and reading info straight from the inner sanctum by Carroll and DOB. That’s all still here, but buried in the c constant regurgitated slime of all those who want management to sign perfect players, watch perfect players make perfect plays, rotate perfect pitchers to the mound day in and day out, and have perfect coaches and managers always make the perfect decisions. Oh yeah, and take every player injury as a personal affront.

To all those I say: WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD. It ain’t happening. Try to embrace the attitude of the team: put the losses and the bad games behind you and move on to the next one with some semblance of maturity.

And, to all the west coast fans – enjoy watching these series of games at a decent hour and in spectacular weather. As I sit here in this FL heat and humidity, I’m jealous.

I take exception to those statements. Those of us who live on the water and use it recreationally will note that the West Coast water temps are 60 to 70 degrees year round while here in the Keys the water is 70 to 80 degrees year round. Diving, swimming, spearfishing, lobstering, water skiing, etc are possible year round where the Pacific requires that you minimally wear a wet suit for the short periods you can stay in the water.

I can’t argue with the climate in San Diego on land, but when you add the abundant opportunities the ocean offers, it’s no contest.
