Jones back in lineup after four-day absence

Chipper Jones returned to the lineup Tuesday, after missing four games with a strained right adductor muscle.

Jones said he felt it a little more batting right-handed than left-handed, but he was able to swing with some authority right-handed during batting practice on Monday. He thought he might be a little cautious running the bases but didn’t plan to pull up unless he felt it worsen.

Jones saw considerable improvement after an injection of sodium bicarbonate after he injured it Thursday night.

“I think without the shot we’re looking at at least a week and possibly a DL stint,” Jones said. “Even with the shot, the first couple days, I was kind of skeptical but the fourth day proved to do the trick.”

Michael Bourn is the lastest name in the trade winds. God. He makes so much sense for the Braves. Send Schafer and Minor to Houston. Pick up this guy.

Who cares, this guys wheels are worst than Dale Jr’s…has he ever been in shape or uninjured, heck even when he was called up to the bigs, at a young age, this guy was coming off a torn ACL!!!!

Great to see Chipper back in the lineup and tied with BMAC for leading the team in RBI’s (41). I would love to see Chipper prove all his doubters (Bobby Valentine especially) abd go for 90+ RBI’s this season. You gotta respect the guy. 39 years old in the bigs still doing his thing, commanding this team and being a force.

Anyone at the game last night or tonight know what kind of reception the ATL crowd is giving Yunel?

If Chipper is selected for ASG…he might want to think about only PH duties.

glad chipper is back congrats to minor on a well pitched game, once again mac what can you say the best offensive weapon behind the plate in the majors. now for the down side uggla another 0 fer please don’t tell us he’s hitting the ball hard it’s just right at people or an inch left right up or down its a different story. all that is the same as saying that 100 degree heat in arizona is not as hot as 100 in florida or mississippi, 100 degrees is still 100. what weighs more a ton of feathers or a ton of lead. bottom line 0 fers are common place with this guy doesn’t make a difference how you get them.

Me personally I’ll take 100 degrees in Arizona over 100 degrees in Florida. Florida would feel like 109 or more with the humidity.

lugo will give us stablity and a solid backup inflielder and as for the guy who suggested to trade for micheal bourn we dont need to trade schafer he is to valuable i no they are basically the same player have people herd this stat about how when jordan schafer scores the braves are like 11-3
so just keep that in mind besides how much does micheal bourn cost

FACTS (June 21st, 2011 7:56 pm): “Who cares, this guys wheels are worst than Dale Jr’s…has he ever been in shape or uninjured, heck even when he was called up to the bigs, at a young age, this guy was coming off a torn ACL!!!!”

Jones started no fewer than 152 games In any of the seven seasons from 96 through 02, and averaged over 155 starts per season during that span.

He started 138 games in 95 (”coming off a torn ACL!!!!”) and 149 games in 03.
