Amazing: Seven extra-innings game in past 16 for the Braves.
Venters has four two-inning relief appearances in 11 days. Gave up four hits tonight, after giving up none for so long. If he’s tired, he has every right to be.
Venters threw 36 pitches (25 strikes) in his 2 innings.
Really getting sick of all these deep flyballs to the wall and warning track. How about working some walks and trying to manufacture some runs? Oh wait, they threw that strategy out with last year’s playoff appearance.
Seriously, how about some screamers down the line? Do these guys literally just try to hit HR’s and nothing else? Prado is the only Guy with a logical approach at the plate
Big difference between the Reds extra innings and us…
The Reds are trying to put the ball in play and get guys on base.
We are hacking away as always. Every guy trying to hit a homer. I am so sick of this mentality. I am ready to fire LP just in an attempt to change our approach. Because this isn’t working anymore. The bad part is, the team doesn’t even feel like they are being overly aggressive.
Preach it, brother. I am with you. The overly aggressive approach at the plate has down nothing for the ballclub. No chance LP is let go, but somebody convincing the team to be patient would help.
I am sitting here and saying to myself…”just a baseknock…start something,” yes the guy has movement and is awesome—-but we got to try to nickel and dime him…we, much to my chagrin, are just a trying to be da walkoff hero–not smart baseball.
