PH for Uggla?
Linebrink for Cy
May 27th, 20119:41 pm
nooo he stopped!!! great now uggla can still hit into a dp
Come on Dan!!!!!!!!!!
Another UGGLY choke coming up
Watch this…uggly will hit right into a 5-4-3…that’s how…
At least the shutdown is gone for the Reds now.
May 27th, 20119:42 pm
Oh, Dan almost had it there.
Looks like its going to be one of those nights.
That was something!!!!!!!!!
Uggla just missed a HR.
that’s better. almost had that one
Well at least we Got One…Thats a Double off the Teal Tower a Year ago…Uggly Doesn’t seem to get that…?
laughing my ass off that Fuggly’s shot fell short of the mark.
A collective roar from crowd before that ball was caught at CF wall. Uggla nearly hit a three-run bomb.
Come on Freddie, please tie it up here, please, please, please.
well we’ve already seen that homers do nothing for Uggla confidence … so a hit would have been better in that situation, maybe even that sac fly will help (but doubt it)
May 27th, 20119:43 pm
Kind of feel bad for Uggla there.
Or not…an RBI…as rare from him as a dinasaur sighting….
McFann :Ô: :Ô:
MAN!! So close!!
Least we got one, but DANG…
May 27th, 20119:44 pm
Fab 5 Freddie Needs To Do Something!!! Seriously!
Just something random here for fun:
Prediction- Braves’ post game comments
F.Gonzalez on Leake
“He was good. Real good. Just one of those times where you just tip your cap and move on.
On struggling offense:
“You know what, we hit balls hard all night and Leake made his pitches. Tip your cap. And you know what … Hanson was also real good. Just faced a great team tonight. And also, you know what … Danny missed a homer by inces. Wasn’t it by inches? I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention”.
McCann on Leake;
“He was awesome. Awesome. Tip your cap and move on.
Braves rule ….
Even if it already bounced twice….or is higher than your head….SWING….dont take ball 4…walks are for phillies
I kind of expected Freeman to have a little more pop in his bat.
May 27th, 20119:45 pm
Another bouncer to first for FF….sigh
The A Bomb
They strike out….
They hit into double plays…. even with 2 outs.
They even now make errors….
THE MOST UNINTERESTING TEAM IN BASEBALL.
Is wind blowing in, how did that stay in the park?
Kris in Oz
Tn Brian – spot on!
May 27th, 20119:46 pm
man, Uggla just missed that…
May 27th, 20119:47 pm
We are 24th in batting average in MLB. Our pitchers needs to pitch shutouts or 2 runs games to have a chance to win. lol
May 27th, 20119:48 pm
fredi gave up when he se.t Linebrink out to pitch the 7th after he already pitched the 6th…He doesn’t care
@ A Bomb: That’s funny.
May 27th, 20119:49 pm
Smoltzie mentioned that Uggla’s SF RBI was his first RBI since May 6 that didn’t come from a HR. That’s 3 weeks. Wow.
If onlÝ Linebrink was half decent I could see resting EOF and those guys here, but he isn’t even decent anymore.
The difference in Ballpark Dimensions (Pro Player straight line shorter dimensions LF and Turner Field arching deeper dimensions in LF) Are Killing Struggla who is a dead pull hitter that takes advantage of dimensions like that. Balls that are Outs here would’ve been Doubles or Homers either off or over the Teal Tower when Struggla was playing with the Marlins…Then Again, I still don’t get it because Struggla used to Clown against us when he hit here in years past
Any Explanation D.O.B.? Or is it just baseball just a Flat out struggle?
May 27th, 20119:50 pm
Freddy letting Linebrink earn his spikes tonight.
Is there something wrong with Martinez, I thought he was our long releif guy, hasn’t pitched in god knows when and now we have Linebroke.
May 27th, 20119:51 pm
Actually…. it’s a good sign if Uggla swings the bat without his front knee collapsing like a detonating building.
He gave you 1 shutout inning Freddy, now get him out.
ive seen som pretty bad announcers in my day but the reds guys take the cake. just just argued that the ball hit by uggla would have been 20 rows up in the stands in cincy, but credit leake for him being smart enough to pitch to the ball park and thus keeping that ball from going out.
they also knocked hanson earlier by saying he was a sub .500 pitcher on a playoff team last year. they were completely oblivous to the fact that hanson had a 3.33 era and just simple couldn’t get any run support.
May 27th, 20119:52 pm
Cristhian Martinez is warming up in the pen, guys.
This is an effort to limit the workload by Freddy, hopefully it pays off.
here’s a braves drinking game for folks who have or want to watch the game with a friend who has a drinking problem. the rules are simple. when the braves score a run take a shot. you and/or your friend is guaranteed to stay sober.
“Smoltzie mentioned that Uggla’s SF RBI was his first RBI since May 6 that didn’t come from a HR. That’s 3 weeks. Wow.”
Linenbrink will take it in the chin tonight because we are not going to burn another pitcher this inning.
May 27th, 20119:53 pm
Tomahawkin, most of Uggla’s deep flyouts are to straightaway CF or the alleys.
To your point, though, that 380 in left-center at the Ted is indeed 19 feet longer than in Sun Life/Pro Player/Dolphins/Joe Robbie/LandShark Stadium. However, I can’t recall Dan flying out to deep straightaway LF…
May 27th, 20119:54 pm
… so I think it’s one of those springs.
Good job Linebrink, he has been pretty good lately
For the past several years the Atlanta Braves have tried in vain to find a way to get Uggla out and they finally found the way. Sign him to a long term contract for shyt loads of cash.
May 27th, 20119:55 pm
Damn that Leake is one helluva great pitcher….
I have been wondering about what’s up with C-Mart as well???
Phillies won, Bleh!
Linebrink is playing with fire here in the 7th.
May 27th, 20119:56 pm
that was cold, Jerry
Good baseball by the Reds with sending the runners and staying out of the double play.
Martinez is warming up…
May 27th, 20119:57 pm
Good job, Linebrink.
“Tomahawkin, most of Uggla’s deep flyouts are to straightaway CF or the alleys.

Agreed! That 19 Foot Difference in the LCF comparision from Pro Player Stadium as opposed to Turner Field has been the difference in Struggla having at least a .240 avg with more Xtra base hits and homers as opposed to where he is at now…
I thought the differential was only 10-12 feet but damn, 19 Feet?
I can taste a Solo homer before the night is over BTW
May 27th, 20119:58 pm
Well, at least Uggla can’t crush home runs off of us this year.
Man, Linebrink sure F’d up that inning, didn’t he?
All hail Linebrick the magnificent!!!!!!!!
Rolen had trown out Gonzo before he was halfway down the line…LOL
Good job Linebrink, earning some brownie points there.
May 27th, 20119:59 pm
Linebrink is useless. He has no business being in uniform. None, whatsoever. Gearrin is 3 times the pitcher this joke is.
Linbrink and Sherrill have both pitched pretty well recently,Sherrill has ben effective against both righty and lefty hitters……
Good job by the Linenbrink. Brooks AKA Reds Killer needs to PH this inning.
Diory is a good pinch hitter
Could be a lot worse: Reds have a 3-1 lead despite being 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position (Braves are 1-for-5).
May 27th, 201110:01 pm
yup Jerry it was
I don’t care what the numbers say about runs scored, this offense sucks. It doesn’t matter who’s in there, or what order they attempt to hit in, one thing is constant, they suck.
May 27th, 201110:02 pm
I know the Braves have injuries, but they have to improve their bench.
Could be a lot worse: Reds have a 3-1 lead despite being 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position (Braves are 1-for
Bad enough for me…
May 27th, 201110:03 pm
But it was a good one Noleee, ya gotta admit.
May 27th, 201110:04 pm
Bench??? Starting lineup is what needs to be started with…haha
Prado, go yard, and breath some life into this game.
May 27th, 201110:05 pm
Brian Jordan is alright behind the mic. Not so much in front of a camera though, imo.
Marteen scuffling a bit now too, past 10 games he has 38 at-bats, 9 hits, only 1 run scored, and 2 RBIs
Nice AB for Schafer in the crucial spot…go get em, tiger!
May 27th, 201110:06 pm
I’ve noticed that its hard to win scoring one or two runs most every game
Braves O just can’t catch a break.
May 27th, 201110:07 pm
And it could be a 1-1 ball game if some plays are made
“the Phillies take care of business with a team they should beat”
they are the best team in the NL and 2nd best team in the Majors for a reason.
What A Boring Game! I know A Lot of people Got their Feelings Hurt Fighting FUB’R Memorial Day Weekend traffic here in the “A” to go watch This Crap in person! I’m Glad I wasn’t one of them…
Proctor to pitch 8th for Braves
In typical fashion, the Phillies take care of business with a team they should beat.
McCann couldn’t get the ball out of his glove… uh-huh.
May 27th, 201110:08 pm
Every team right now is just outplaying the Braves on all fundamental levels. Heisey with that stolen base just firmly reinforces out overmatched the Braves are fundamentally.
Reds make things happen, Braves wait for things to happen
Well, that’s three inning ending outs for Prado tonight…
2 innings left
May 27th, 201110:09 pm
“I don’t like Fredi, but I’m glad he’s taking Ginger out.”
ouch, but lol, Big Red will admit postgame, that he Pitched like Shy t. He won’t be afraid to tell it like it is, thats what I like about him. He will admit that he was his worst enemy tonight
Mac should either be converted to a first baseman or go DH in the American League. He can block balls and call a game and occasionally will throw out a slower guy at 2nd, but man he’s lucky he can swing the stick.
May 27th, 201110:11 pm
We are just Getting Schooled on how to steal bases on opposing pitchers, Sickening!
May 27th, 201110:12 pm
Tomahawkin, they’ll be alright. Most of the people there are probably eyeing the club or a good restaurant by now anyways. Besides, it shouldn’t come as ANY surprise to anybody that’s watched this team all year how they usually don’t hit.
When the other team gets on first, the Braves should just award the runner second base automatically. I can’t remember the last time Mac has thrown anyone out.
It could be a lot worse, but to be honest I’d rather see the Braves get hammered than lose another close one. This type of game gives false hope that they might somehow figure out how to hit again.
@Tomahawkin…..Yes, I had planned to go but backed out based on the obvious….Hopefully, I’ll get there soon but I want to see action and at least a few of those in the gap bombs….when is the last time a Brave has hit one in the gap for a double or triple–if they can limp that far?
Church League Offense
May 27th, 201110:13 pm
Except in church league…. there are a bunch of fat, unathletic, deacons who can’t hit the ball. These guys are getting paid major league salaries to look like wrong handed sissies!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
