This team just cannot get out of its own way.

Just joining in…wanted to say that the last half inning fall on Hanson and BMac.
Hanson’s error of course and them Hanson’s lack of effort and Mac’s direction to throw to first when the could have turned a double play then as well.

The futility of this team just never ceases to amaze me. Watching the Braves this season feels like smashing your head against a brick wall……repeatedly.

So predictable – a pitcher with an ERA approaching 6 and we are getting shutout! Occasionally I can see this happen, but over and over and over again….. Our offense is just plain dreadful! Wren has to at least start looking at some other options.

Mac is not a very good defensive catcher. He has a lot of passed balls, runners advance and between his poor throwing and our pitchers inability to hold guys on, guys can steal on us at will.

The Reds are also struggling, yet they seem confident, and are using their opportunities to pick away at us. We do not and don’t seem to be able to play like that. It is feast or famine with us. At so far this season, its pretty much all been famine. Our offense is making Mr 5.00 ERA look like Mr 0.00 ERA. And Hanson seems to be a head case. He was hot, and now all of a sudden he cant get people out and is back to his high pitch counts and early exits.

This team just looks listless. Game after game after game. There has been no spark. We need an infusion of some kind. A trade. Something. This trend just doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing.
Statistically, we have the best pitching in the league, and yet we go into extras every other damn day and struggle repeatedly to eek out wins against bad teams.

Tommy Hanson rarely can pitch in an efficient and economical fashion. Furthermore, it is striking how well opposing teams work the Braves pitchers compared how aggressive and poorly the Braves hitters work their opposing pitchers. I would love to see a statistic of how many times a Braves starter has thrown fewer pitches than his mound opponent.

First of all, Chipper would have been out by 15 feet if he would have tried to go from 1st to 3rd on that hard hit single to the gun armed right fielder. Hanson pitched well tonight, but the two errors cost us two runs. Prado is a remarkable baseball player and is the heart of this team.
