Bring Back The Roids/PED’s Please Dud Selig? Games Being decided on bunts is Boring!!! MLB will lose more casual fans to the NFL when it resumes if these borefests continue.
Seriously no fan is gonna pay an avg of 15-20+ bucks a game per person in this economy to see both teams combine to score 5 runs or less against Slop pitchers….Chicks Dig The Longball!
We keep trying to turn singles into doubles because we know we can’t string together 3 hits in a row. Understandable, but we have been thrown out far too often.
One thing for sure is that the Reds are 2-8 in their last 10 games. They have come to town to get well. Their great pitchers are going up against our great hitters. Who’s gonna win that battle? In the 4th inning, we are making them look good. Great throw Hanson! We are on a roll now.
We were Due For A F’d Up error like that since our Defense has been pretty much above par all season until the last roadtrip…That Means a hella lot more pitches that Big Red is gonna have to throw this inning, GRRRRRRRR
It’s no wonder the Braves don’t score runs. When they get ahead in an at-bat they swing at pitcher’s pitchers and get themselves out. No patience, no discipline, no clue by too many on the team. Opposing pitchers realize this and don’t give in. We do. One thing last year’s team had that this one doesn’t is the patience to force the pitcher to work to get outs. Last year’s team didn’t give away at-bats like this one has so far. We make average pitchers look like all-stars. Plus, we make far too many mistakes on the base paths.
It looked to me like Hanson had a DP on the squeeze. Catcher running and a one hop bunt right to Hanson and he throws out the runner at first by 40 feet.
Jeez. Tommy had a great shot at 2nd. So, he throws it into center field when he has plenty of time–and then just concedes the run and throws to first when he has just as much time.
Not so sure about the IQ of some of these guys sometimes.
Smoltz made a good comment about that throw- Tommy didn’t step when he threw it, and Smoltz pointed out that pitchers are so used to throwing at a down angle that, combined with not stepping into it, throwing against the rise of the back of the mound can cause the ball to sail exactly like it did…

I respectfully disagree, cab. Go back and check the video. Alex peels off at the last minute. Uggla blew the same play the other night. I’d guess he did it again. Physical errors happen, I don’t mean to be cheap and pick at them. The only reason it caught my mind, is that the mental error on defense often accompany the slump at the plate.
