BAS I don’t think you read my one post thoroughly my friend. I said that it might be one huge outlier where every player on the team is taking an OBP dump at the same time and totally forgot over the winter how to draw a walk,, which is what you seem to be saying. Perhaps so, seems pretty coincidental, but is certainly a possibility and if so like I said it is all on the players.
However if you are watching all the at bats it seems obvious that they are being more aggressive earlier in the count that they used to be,even Chipper -who I agree would likely not be affected much by Parrish but was used mostly to show how putrid the team OBP is at this point.
All kinds of possibilities no doubt. But I’m still betting that Larry and Fredi are trying a different approach, to whatever degree that might be the cause of the problem.
I think I remember a statement about Parrish believing in an aggressive approach, but I might be misremembering since I can’t find it now. Or it might have been about his hitting career for that matter
Someone criticized youthful David for not being critical enough of the Braves. You must comprehend the fragility of the access he has to these guys. — Earl Williams
Why, thank you. Been a while since someone referred to me as “youthful,” although I do feel that way (most days, at least).
Amazing: Seventh extra-innings game in past 16 for the Braves.
Venters has four two-inning relief appearances in 11 days. Gave up four hits tonight, after giving up none for so long. If he’s tired, he has every right to be.
