Easy E is in… On The Real, We need some blowout wins because some of Our Bullpen Arms (Easy-E, Vennie-Macc, mainly) are going to fall off in Mid August Literally….
He has had better AB’s tonight and the only RBI so far, but that first pitch to Uggla in his second AB with 1 out, runners at 1st-3rd he had one to absolutely crush and watched it go bý. That had homerun written all over it.
Something like that shows how bad we’re struggling on offense.
Too bad we have one of the best MLB pitching staffs in years and it’s going to go largely unnoticed because of this offensive tribute to the 1966 Dodgers.
So I wonder if McDowell will go back to his OWN dugout and question the manhood of the players on his own team instead of directing it at people in the stands.
@BFChris26: I agreed with you on your assesment. My comments was not directed at the bullpen but a our inability to score runs that is causing our bullpen to be abused.
@BFChris26….that will result in a malfunctioning bullpen, i.e., offense gets their collective heads together and start scoring like an MLB team and, as a result; the “Pen” then takes on the role of underachievers.
If the Braves get this kind of pitching from Linebrink, Sherrill, and Proctor consistently, they’ll be hard to contend with, even with their challenged offense.
I have been a fan since 66 and I read this blog every day and don’t comment all that often. But, tonight I have to speak up. After 2 days off this week and coming back home to play a team that is obviously struggling we get a 3 error , listless, poor baserunning, poor decision making all around pathetic performance. These players are not engaged. Their minds are not in the game. Their body language and facial expressions are defeatist. Something is very, very wrong and I don’t know if its the manager, a clubhouse cancer, whatever, but, there is too much talent for this to be the end result. No aggressiveness, no heart, poor instincts, poor judgement, lackadaisical play, are not characteristics of a playoff team. As much as I don’t like Filly, they are getting a lot more out of there NO NAME playersa than we are getting from our STARS. The difference=heart, leadership, and someone in mgmt. to light a fire in their a** when they perform like this. Obviously, NO ONE in Atlanta is capable or cares enough to perform these duties. They may comeback and win tonight but the fact remains that something is rotten in that clubhouse. Their play is much too inconsistent for a 25 guys to collectively look so, so bad. Does anybody out there see what I see? SOMEBODY IN THAT UNIFORM OR UPSTAIRS PLEASE WAKE UP!!!!! IT IS ALMOST UNWATCHABLE. I’m not meaning to be negative, this is just sickening and pathetic.
And other opposing managers as well. Why take lefty out when pitching to Uggla? Specifically because he has more trouble with lefties than righties. But hey, I’m no manager.
Another minor league ANEMIC offensive performance by the scrub offense that is the Atlanta Braves. This team is beyond pathetic they looked Luke they flat out didn’t care at all tonight. It’s a shame bc fans pay hard earned money to watch these bums.
