Yeah, Chip is annoying when the Braves are winning, but combine a Braves deficit with Carey’s inability to add anything meaningful to a broadcast and it is almost torture to listen to him.

The braves sell well when school is out and when its the weekends, its like clock work. The formula rarely fails whether they are good or bad so thats not the case with them, maybe the phillies.

Turner Field seats 50,000 plus, a little harder to sell out than most places and i’m assuming you’re talking about Game 4 in the playoffs, it did not sell out but numbers wise there were more people in the stadium than San Fran had at any of their games.

nice vandy, agreed UGA hasn’t won a BCS in 30 years…however, aside from the past 2 years..they put a good product on the field that has produced a few SEC titles/Sugar Bowl victories in the past decade. plus you are guaranteed a 92,000 sell out crowd every year for every game

Tomahawkin, I have a feeling that there will be many more of these series between now and September. This is not a playoff team. Great starting pitching, good catcher, one dependable arm in bullpen – that’s really about it. Not really enough to build a championship run on.

Shouldn’t that be thanks braves, after all they’re the ones doing it. Braves have not been sharp this series, these are all still major league teams, if you don’t come to play or aren’t focused enough to play to win then any of the other 29 teams can beat you on any given night.

We will look back on this series after the season and reflect on why this team has failed again to perform to their talent. The first inning was a microcasm of the mindset of this group. Three of our best hitters look at 3rd strikes with the bat on their shoulders. Fear of failure, turns into hopeing they get a walk and all three strikeout looking. No heart, No brains.
Is there any surprise that fans stay home to watch on TV, when the product on the field is so poor. I hope whoever finally buys the team from Liberty Media will upgrade the talent and the Management of the team.
Sad Day indeed!

Well, losing 3 to the Nats could be worse, right?

I mean it’s not like DOB recently did a blog about how all the nay-sayers jumped the gun on this team.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody. For starters, the Nats are better than people give them credit for, and despite the winning, this Braves team is flawed in many areas. Apparently in the closer spot, which I wasn’t concerned about (and now am just a little bit).

But for the most part, the consensus is that the Braves are not as good as the Phillies and better than the Nats.

So why wouldn’t they play “up and down” to the competition? They’ve been doing it for the past 3-4 years.

Smoke the Phillies. Letting the NL know they can hang with them (head to head), but then the VERY NEXT series, p!ss all over themselves in the wind against the Nats.

It’s actually so baffling it’s funny.

But like I’ve been saying all winter. The Braves will give the Phillies a run for their money head to head. But it’s going to be the Phillies ability to destroy the “have nots” in the NL that causes the 5-10 game seperation in the standings when this season is all said and done.

Braves simply don’t have that killer instinct against lesser teams. Haven’t for years.
