I am going to assume Fiorentino is a right-handed hitter because that is what we need. Although the story doesn’t say. Can he play centerfield?

To those who are whining about this being a “non-story” – I guess you are just overlooking at least 10 blog postings in three days. In case you are just having a hard time understanding how these things work, there are these people called sportswriters, and they write about sports, specifically things that happen to the Braves in this case. A trade counts as newsworthy, and does not detract from the other blog postings where they report on other things.

To those who want to use this to come up with yet another “let’s bash Chipper and McLouth” post – keep on revealing your absolute hatred of the team. We understand that you are not fans, so troll away.

To those who don’t understand the concept of stocking a farm team and/or think this is proof that Schafer has been replaced – Please, enlighten the rest of us and list which teams have ONLY top tier prospects at every position on every minor league team in their system, and have absolutely nobody on any roster anywhere that is merely there because they need a minimum number of players. Go ahead, we’ll wait.

What’s that? Can’t think of any? That’s because there aren’t any, goober. There aren’t that many prospects around. There are plenty of maybes, and plenty of roster fillers, and plenty of people who are happy to play at some level even though they have close to no chance of ever moving up.

Maybe the next time, you’ll actually think before you type your typical whining bashing post, revealing that you just aren’t a fan. Doubtful, but possible.

Go Braves.

Sometimes a player who likes to talk to the media a little too much might want to think before he speaks. The following is a direct quote from Frenchy, after his sac fly won the game against Balitmore in extras the other night, and afterward was greeted with the new, stupid tradition of getting beat up by his teamates:

“When you get that nice celebration coming into the dugout and you’re getting your ass hammered by guys,” Frenchy elaborated, “there’s no better feeling than to have that done.”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

We do not need to mess with the lineup right now they are making huge strides. Not that this guy is a threat.

i agree ramblingman if i am a pitcher the one person on the braves lineup i do not want to face is chipper. and if i believe what i have seen in all the braves games so far chipper and mcclouth have been earning their keep. besides chipper is the foundation of this team. it is true his best years are behind him, but he is a definite threat to the other team whenever he is in the lineup. noone on that braves team brings more fear to the opposing manager than chipper jones

In 1987, The Braves traded Doyle Alexander to the Tigers for a little known John Smoltz.

What if something like that happens again?
