BC, you disgusting racist POS. Get out of here.
This Braves Team...
April 30th, 20114:08 pm
Bill…I was…but we didn’t overpay there. Like I said…It really is a miracle we have won over 10 games
Stop with the racial crap idiot.
Although I wasn’t the biggest Bobby Cox fan in the world, I said that Braves fans would miss him more than they realized when he left. We’re starting to see that.
Pathetic offense…clueless manager…..young,wild closer all adds up to bad losses.
We are not doing the intangibles…little things that get you over the hump–especially vs. a LaRussa mentality
is not good.
No wonder Cardinal fans outnumbered Braves fans today, they know when they come out to the ballpark there’s a good chance to they’ll see winning baseball.
April 30th, 20114:09 pm
This incarnation of a Braves team absolutely stinks! They are not worth going to watch play and spend my hard earned money watching a bunch of losers!!!!! Fredi needs to find another line of work along with McDowell whose pitching staff isn’t worth watching.
Billy Jack's Barbecue & Shrimp Co.
April 30th, 20114:10 pm
Disappointing, but remain calm. Salvage a game tomorrow, take a few from the Brew Crew.
Tomahawkin…have a good day. Peace!
DOB how does a team go from most late inning magic in baseball to absolutely NO LATE INNING MAGIC AT ALL IN ONE OFF SEASON???????
i hate panicing in april/early may, but this team is 6 (7 in the loss column) back from the phils. usually it’s not as big a deal cause the phils don’t start fast either. gotta hope that the phils hit a big losing streak or something. and on a bad note they are without blanton, lidge, contreras, utley and brown. it’s starting to look like the WC is gonna be the braves best (only?) shot.
what a joke. i’m so surprised in this team…
This from a guy defending McDowell! Yeah, get outta hera ya racist says the homophobe.
April 30th, 20114:11 pm
good teams don’t do this–not 2 days in a row.
The Braves are not good enough to hang with the big boys.
April 30th, 20114:12 pm
Keep making excuses for these losers. Maybe Uggla will start hitting by July
Declare Phillies the Division Winner.
These guys just came back from a 6-4 road trip, sweeping the Giants in their own house. We lose 2 games at home, and all of a sudden the Braves suck and Fredi doesn’t know his a__ from a hole in the ground. I really don’t understand some of you people. They ALWAYS start slow. Still 5 months of baseball to go. Stop being a bunch of crybabies already!
Braves are just 52-50 since the All-Star Break last year.
This team should be better. Hard to figure why they’re not.
Say what you will about LaRussa, but you aren’t going to be soft and play for him.
April 30th, 20114:13 pm
More pressure has to put on the umpires by our coach. A guy can’t find the plate and then get’s three borderline strikes and one so far inside I thought Eric Gregg had returned from the afterlife. The Braves have a lot of worries. The ball is not falling for them and some fire is needed. They have a good team.
gophils – it doesn’t take guts to win when you can afford to go out and get guys like Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, etc. The Phils were built to win by an ownership that cares enough to spend the money needed. It was the same thing for the Braves back in the 90’s. But don’t go puffing your chest about the guts of the Phillies. What have they done so far other than meet expectations? The Phillies should win most nights with the roster they have.
April 30th, 20114:14 pm
This isn’t just 2 days in a row. Go back and look at our last four-five losses. All have been via a blown late lead. A good team would have lost one, MAYBE two of those.Right now, this just isn’t a good team, regardless of how many times CR or DOB or anyone around baseball keep talking about how early it is. You know, like we haven’t been following baseball for years and need to be constantly reminded as though we were children. Just because it’s early doesn’t mean there are not things to be alarmed about. And there are quite a few with this team.
April 30th, 20114:15 pm
FYI the Phillies just SLAPPED the Amazin Mets.
BTW, the Braves were 2 games under .500 at the end of April 1991 as well.
Time to go buy some lottery tickets….time to risk my good mood on something else.
Can somebody tell me how many one run/extra inning games they have lost? This team is under performing, thats from the manager down to the dang bat boy(yep, im pickin on him too). But in reality, this is pathetic.
They dont hit when they should, then they dont play defense and pitch in the late innings, they look like Gwinnett out there. Sorry to say it, but this team has not made any progress until SOMEBODY opens the checkbook!!!
April 30th, 20114:16 pm
This team desperately needs a real leadoff hitter.
If we don’t get one, we will continue to flounder offensively.
Would you please bozo the racist calling himself BlackCracker? Even his moniker is offensive.
cs95 – the Braaves are NOT catching the Phillies. Plain and simple. I’m not even sure that they have what it takes to catch the Marlins. There are some nice pieces, but still too many holes for this team to really contend for a championship.
Carroll, would you also please ban Really?
There is a difference REALLY…and McDowell’s full story has not come out. But there is no place for it on blog. Both cool it.
April 30th, 20114:17 pm
April 30th, 2011
Not a minute too soon. This baby is over.
The Marlins will be there at the end though. Wouldn’t surprise me if they won the World Series again.
It’s about that time.
I’m not a racist, just a realist. The Braves are what they are, always have been. Its no secret moron. They prefer sorry white hopefuls over minority talent. Racism exists idiot, acknowledge it.
April 30th, 20114:18 pm
it might be early, but in September we’ll remember these losses.
April 30th, 20114:19 pm
“BC, you disgusting racist POS. Get out of here.
This from a guy defending McDowell! Yeah, get outta hera ya racist says the homophobe.”
First, you don’t know me. Second, homophobe, really? How am I a homophobe? Is it because I am not going to condemn someone guilty unless I know the whole story? By the way, learn the definition of phobia. Phobia is a fear of something or someone.
Well they did it again, lost another close game before another large crowd. Good way to chase the fans away.
No, you’re a racist. That’s very clear from your posts, idiot.
April 30th, 20114:20 pm
BC, so Heyward is white? Alex Gonzalez is white? Fredi Gonzalez is white? Jurrjens is white? You are pathetic.
April 30th, 20114:21 pm
Maybe this team is just evening out. Last year it seemed like we won all the close games. This year it seems like we’re losing all of them.
Until our offense starts consistently putting up four or five runs a night, this team will continue to tread water. Our pitchers have zero margin for error.
Now you see why Mather couldn’t make Cards team..right kirkinga.
April 30th, 20114:22 pm
There is a “Report this comment” button that is available for all to use. If you feel that the unnecessary comments by a certain rude poster is out of bounds…report the comment! It does work. What happen to all those people talking about not being so “sensitive”..lol?
April 30th, 20114:24 pm
Good to see you on here rubbing it in…The Blog is on the Warpath so don’t push us…
That last post was out of sarcasm…
Really?, It’s not user friendly at all and not worth the time it takes.
April 30th, 20114:25 pm
Bravessfan– it’s called the law of averages.
The Braves pinch-hitters last year over-achieved.
This year they are underachieving, thus balancing out to reality.
When Brooks Conrad is your bench key, you are asking for trouble.
We also lost Diaz, which cannot be underestimated even though he had a rough year, and until Chipper got hurt we had Infante off the bench several games.
This team has way too many holes I’m afraid. No righty stick off the bench, no speed anywhere, no leadoff hitter, inconsistent bullpen with a rookie and setup guy that are too young, etc.
Well we have the Roger iccendent and then the Lowe DUI and then 2 blowns games at the end. Were going in the wrong direction.
April 30th, 20114:26 pm
Brava, do you think Really may also be the racist poster?
Liberty Media forcing Wren to shop at Big Lots is beginning to show.
April 30th, 20114:27 pm
“Well they did it again, lost another close game before another large crowd. Good way to chase the fans away.”
Large Crowd? Really? There were barely 30K people there and 1/2 of them were Cardinals fans, Pathetic, but I see why they chose not to watch the Garbage that is on the field
No, Trey. He or she has posted here before and never seemed to be the offensive type, but more a blog police type.
Another good baseball game but not a good result. Too bad.
I noticed another call for Venters to close, maybe he should. I did notice that he allowed to inherited runners to score.
Bottom of the 8th, damn. Just missed a homerun, end up with a double. Then two hard hit balls turned into outs. Bad luck.
Holliday opens the ninth with a fine example of hitting. I mean if that had been Chipper, Heap, or Heyward, we would have said, ha take that Mr. Closer, right. Passed ball, that’s on Heap, it happens.
Laird’s AB though, man. High inside fastball looking for a swing and a miss, good call, two inches higher and no way he gets his bat on it, but as it was he did a damn fine job of keeping his back elbow tucked in and getting the fat part of the bat on the ball. Again, if it is a Brave hitter it’s take that. Well I’m not happy, but I’m not blind either.
Saying you aren’t a homophobe because you are waiting for the process to complete before you, presumably, will condemn what was said, is like saying you only go to the klan rally for the cold beer, not because you’re a racist.
April 30th, 20114:28 pm
April 30th, 2011
Oh, I love it. Yes, 1991. That is so us right now. Such an apt comparison, you know, because both teams are so totally alike.
Except, last time I checked David Justice, Terry Pendleton, Ron Gant, Otis Nixon, Deion Sanders, Tom Glavine, Steve Avery and John Smoltz aren’t on the 2011 Braves roster.
One similarity though, both teams are loaded with speed… which is what you would have to be to believe that.
April 30th, 20114:29 pm
Saying it’s still early is ridiculous. This team has lost so many games they could have won. The Phillies lost their best hitter and their closer and don’t miss a beat. If that was Atlanta, it would even more losses and more excuses. Starters have been great, the rest of the team can start the season whenever they’re ready.
The attendance will only continue to drop if they keep playing like this and getting bad publicity from their personnel.
Hello management….GET A LEADOFF HITTER!!! Somebody that can get on base atleast twice a game and make stuff happen. I love Prado, but he is NOT a leadoff hitter. The Braves act like the Hawks, EVERYBODY in the league knows that team needs a point guard or a center, but yet they fool only themselves. Even the announcers said it the other day on FOX. The Braves need a leadoff hitter in a bad, bad way!
The Braves tried painting a Pinto red and calling it a Corvette..sorry its not that simple! This team will once again be a slow, one run home run hitting team that cant win the late inning games cause they refuse to get a speedster that could have possibly won a game like the one the lost today!
They will keep hittin them homeruns with on one on base while other teams will continue to manufacture runs cause the Braves done know how to! THE SLOWEST TEAM IN BASEBALL
“It’s not user friendly at all and not worth the time it takes.”
Agreed, You have to fill out a Whole police report to get someone Bozo’d on here, not woth the time…
Billy The Kid
April 30th, 20114:30 pm
Braves had 1st Black GM.. Bill Lucas…Black Vice Pres.Hank Aaron. Have had many bk coaches and players.. There is a shortage of Black player…they rather play BB & football ..Thats nothing new. Stop making excuses.. Braves are not Racist!
Agree with Trey and I’m half & half.
April 30th, 20114:31 pm
Really, hell no it’s not. That’s not even comparable. Have you ever head of something called due process? Obviously not.
You can’t condemn someone until you know for a fact that it happened. Also, learn what a homophobe is.
If I were the president of Braves I WOULD have hired Fredi as MGR but to only a 1 year contract till he proved himself, after all he has a liftime loseing record as MGR in both the minors and major leagues. aLL FLA has done is get better with low payroll since letting him go. I would be on the phone right now to Lou Pinnella to ask him to come out of retirementand come here raise a little hell with this team, get them started on winning ways, THIS TEAM IS TO GOOD TO BE PLAYING LIKE THEY ARE.
April 30th, 20114:32 pm
“Saying it’s still early is ridiculous. This team has lost so many games they could have won. The Phillies lost their best hitter and their closer and don’t miss a beat. If that was Atlanta, it would even more losses and more excuses. Starters have been great, the rest of the team can start the season whenever they’re ready.”
Agreed! It was bad enough the Team used to Injury excuse last September/October when they started to fall off…
Someone said that the team has gone 52-50 since the all star break? is that true?
Co-Sign on that last sentence on your last post
April 30th, 20114:33 pm
Nothing going right for the Bravos. Another tough loss today. Another game we should have won. Venters looked nasty against Berkman and then Freese gets a Oppo hit with 2 outs in the 8th to tie the game. Laird gets a triple? Bad, bad, bad.
April 30th, 20114:34 pm
Nope, I’m not that person. I understand what s/he was trying to say, but I strongly condemn how s/he went about doing it. The point that poster raised is not a new one and comes up every season. There are plenty of Braves fans that suspect the organization caters too much to a certain segment (large as it may be) of it’s fans to the detriment of the team. They base it on what they see on the field. Btw…saying a Latino is the same as an Asian or an African-American, or Native American is offensive.
April 30th, 20114:35 pm
Frank Wren and Fredi contract’s expire the same year. So if this team fails to do well they’ll both be out the door together.
Team still has talent, but it hasn’t come together yet. Hopefully it happens before it’s too late.
April 30th, 20114:36 pm
Sorry for typos on my 4:31 post. I am so angrey I can’t type.
April 30th, 20114:37 pm
Who picked 100 pitches as the magical number? Starter looking great but watch out he’s getting close to 100 pitches ….. better pull him out and hand it over to the bullpen. Unbelievable!!!!! It’s Bobby Cox JR.
For Pete’s sake if it ain’t broke then don’t try and fix it. I think the Braves would have won 2 or 3 more games at least if Fredi would not get trigger happy with the starter.
Really, what is your point? No one compared Latino players to black players. He was calling this Casper nation, which you know exactly what that means, so by Casper nation that would mean all white. Latinos are NOT white.
April 30th, 20114:39 pm
Brava, just because he posted here before doesn’t mean anything. richbrave is a regular and he posted as a Phillies fan. Robdawg08 posted as multiple posters before and a regular is supposedly posting as Ward.
Tip Of The Cap
April 30th, 20114:40 pm
Bring Bobby back!!!
April 30th, 20114:42 pm
Beachy pitched a great game,tough loss…
A losing record into June means a long summer and an empty Turner Field.
Hello Ebay tickets!
April 30th, 20114:43 pm
BTW Trey have you seen richbrave? I miss his minor league reports.I have to check our minor league websites myself.
Really, hell no it’s not. That’s not even comparable. Have you ever head of something called due process? Obviously not.
Trey, as a matter of fact, I have published on the subject. I’d suggest that you are confused as to what due process actually means and when it applies.
One need not hide behind some misguided notion of “due process”, in order to condemn hateful speech.
Latinos are NOT white.
April 30th, 20114:45 pm
OH BOY! We sure do miss Bobby.
I’ve been telling every one on here since S. Training That we are not going to catch the Phillies this year, but we still have that Wildcard “On Lock!”
We will still go 93-69, gotta go 80-54 to get there…
April 30th, 20114:47 pm
LaRussa managed that great game again knows how to beat us. Why the hell everytime they have a full count they get on base and we always are out. They say 1 through 12 we have we have the best pitching well there full of crap. We cant score on there bullpen. We have the worst bench look how they beat us two days with there bench. I will not go to see Garcia beat us. For all the Cox haters what do you think of the Marlin loser?
LTBF, no I have not.
Really, I never said I wouldn’t condemn what was allegedly said if he said it. However, I am waiting until the investigation is done and his side of the story gets out.
April 30th, 20114:48 pm
I don’t know, Tomahawkin. Too many mistakes are being made. We’ve got the Brew Crew coming in and they are as tough, if not tougher, than the Cards, then we go to Philly. I don’t see things getting better anytime soon.
Everone keeps saying “its early, they will get it togather” ” Uggly will get it going soon”, well folks its later than you think, this is the worse team i’ve seen since 1990, they will do no better than 4th place if they are lucky.
April 30th, 20114:49 pm
80-54 is possable, but not likely unless the team wakes up fast.
April 30th, 20114:51 pm
Tomahawkin, we have to get our hitting in order first.
April 30th, 20114:52 pm
Derek Please pitch a shutout tomorrow be it over 9 inns or 12 inns, cause that looks like the only way we will win.
April 30th, 20114:53 pm
6 games out and in 4th place at the end of April. Not what the Dr ordered. Here’s to hoping we have another great May. We need it. We might compete with the Phils next year. This year, we just need to get things straightened out and win some games. Stay in the wild card hunt…
April 30th, 20114:57 pm
Facing a guy tomorrow that is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA. Oy.
April 30th, 20114:59 pm

“Hello management….GET A LEADOFF HITTER!!! Somebody that can get on base atleast twice a game and make stuff happen. I love Prado, but he is NOT a leadoff hitter.”
Nobody can get on base twice a game every game , but our leadoff hitter did today. Whats the problem?
White Hispanic and Latino Americans are citizens and residents of the United States who are racially white and ethnically Hispanic or Latino.
White American, itself an official U.S. racial category, legally refers to people “having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa” residing in the United States.
In the 2010 United States Census, 50 million Americans (16% of the total population) listed themselves as ethnically Hispanic or Latino American. Of those, 53.0% (26.7 million) self-identified as racially white. The remaining respondents listed their race as: Some other race 36.7%, multi-racial 6.0%, Black or African American 2.5%, American Indian and Alaska Native 1.4%, Asian 0.4%, and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander 0.1%.
Respondents in the “Some other race” category are reclassified as white by the Census Bureau in its official estimates of race. This means that more than 90% of all Hispanic or Latino Americans end up counted as “white” in some statistics of the US government, equalling 43.1 million in 2008.
Native-born and immigrant Hispanics and Latinos identify as White in nearly identical percentages: 53.9 and 53.7, respectively, per figures from 2007. The combined ratio was 53.8%.[31
April 30th, 20115:01 pm
Over the past two games I wonder what has happened to Kimbriel? I did not notice speed of his fastball, has he lost it?
April 30th, 20115:03 pm
geez, gotten all nasty up in here..
Some things you just can’t explain like how one team can seemingly show up against another and win almost every time. Cardinals have now one the last 8-10 against us. Todays game was basically a carbon copy of last nights. Chances to blow the game open, hit the ball hard with nothing to show for it. We used to beat the Rockies like that back in the day, no matter what they did we could always counter it.
April 30th, 20115:04 pm
Should have said “won” the last 8-10,
Our bullpen should not have been pitching. Why not let Beachy complete the game????
April 30th, 20115:05 pm
Out of here. Hard to say” have a good one ya all” after todays game. May we do better 1:30 tomorrow.
he apologized for responding to hecklers. He never apologized for threatening to knock teeth out. Other fans who were at the game even denied the fact that he threatened to knock teeth out. If he threatened to knock teeth out then where are the videos and evidence?
Trey your comments suggest that you acknowledge his hateful remarks. They also suggest that you believe that nothing short of a HD video (not due process) of the incident is sufficient “evidence” for you. I would note his apology is evidence. I would further suggest his now extended absence from the team is further evidence. People are sent to prison everyday with less evidence than we have in this incident. I think you would be better off just joining the rest of the homophobes who believe his remarks are just fine and dandy, and if not, then it is the fault of the insulted for being insulted.Oh smell the irony in that!
Ok, I have to leave now as I am on my roommate’s laptop and he’s going to be upset with me for jumping into this discussion.

This is gonna be one long-friggin’ year for these chumps… sheez… :-/
April 30th, 20115:07 pm
Braves will be alright once the Cards leave town. Bank on it. 2 games we let slip away. It hurts.
Chop It Up All-Star
The Braves aren’t a bad team. Bad teams get blown out every night. The Braves are a talented team that is failing to do the little things to win and I would venture to say they are running into a little bad luck as well. Most everyone was “bullish” on the Braves after that 6-4 road trip and .500 record, now that they have lost two in a row – two games they could have very easily won I might add, All Brave personnel stink and/or are idiots. It sucks that they are losing, but that’s what expectations do for you – the team either lives up to them or they fall short. That magic that they had last year is missing a bit, but I’m hopeful that they will find it sooner than later.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
