I am just thankful that, as someone who has done one or two stupid things in my life, I can draw inspiration from the many people on the blog who have never done so…
April 29th, 20115:22 pm
I shall return once the verdict comes in! Keep my seat warm y’all.
Is McDowell being placed on administrative leave the first step toward his dismissal, or just a holding action while the Braves’ management and Selig figure things out?
What? This is his first offense? Do you have any friends that have ever drank and drive, how many people do you know who have done stuff like this? Do you just toss them aside and act like they are completely dumb for having a moment of stupidity? Did he kill anyone? NO. Did he injure anyone? NO. Did he risk an innocent person? YES, but he didnt. He will learn from his mistake and it will go away in time and it wont even matter anymore, theres no point in dragging something stupid out like this when there is no need to.
May Derek, Roger, and I should get lit up on some moonshine and go out and beat up on some (CENSORED)!

discipline him for appearances sake and bring him back after a suspension.
Some of what gets said to players from the stands would make a saint resentful, and this guy was doing it with his kids listening to his crap.
guess any craptastic behavior they learn from him is ok.

Not a problem, VJ. Glad I could help.

I really see the Redbirds eating our lunch with this circus going on and having the no. 1 offense in the NL.
self righteous hypocrites rule!!
Go Braves!!! Beat the Cards!!!

The latter I think and a bit of cooling off period for everyone. They could use it.
shucks, I’d be right there in the vanguard throwing that first stone myself, but I just raked up my yard yesterday….damn
yeah well hopefully we get 2010 huddy on the mound tonight
April 29th, 20115:26 pm
Honestly, It kind of has gotten to the point in society that a major league baseball game or any theme park isn’t the best environment to take kids to if you or your kids are one of the delicate types…Especially with so much Crap that is on TV or on the radio
Hell kids will hear/see the same kinds of stuff going to Six-Flags so people just are going to have to deal with our flaws of society in which I think they are 3X as worse than when I was 20 years younger…
Hell I even see 5-7 year olds using cuss words on a regular basis, I don’t think I started til I was about 11ish?
Ah, nolie, if you can’t laugh at your poor life choices, where’s the fun in that???
But I agree, I will never be in a position to judge a-ny-one!
April 29th, 20115:28 pm
Lowe is not gay… mcD was not drunk
Some of what gets said to players from the stands would make a saint resentful,
I have thought about suing all of Philadelphia but figured that might get expensive and the courthouse would not be able to fit all the defendants in the courtroom …….

“I really see the Redbirds eating our lunch with this circus going on and having the no. 1 offense in the NL.”
No No No, The Braves will take two out of three this weekend, Bank On It! The Cards are Frauds who benefit from playing in a loser division…
Plus, we ain’t going out like that, and dropping 2 of 3, not gonna happen on my watch, I got Bragging Rights on this series with a Bunch of Bandwagon Cardinals fans I went to school with
April 29th, 20115:32 pm
Snotboogie, I think you’re right as long as the gay activist pressure groups don’t try leverage the incident for whatever purposes.
So, Lowe’s pitching Sunday. Others were right that the Braves would try to push through the possible DUI incident without suspending Lowe.
April 29th, 20115:33 pm
I just wonder where did Lowe Hang out at Last Night?
I know Big Red Hangs Out at East Andrews in Buckhead…I’ve only been there once for a Halloween party and That Place was off The Chain!

I can already tell that being on the blog tonight during the game is going to be no fun. Too many yahoos coming out of the woodworks… it’s like during the elections when every arse with an opinion pontificates and spouts their malarky… same thing happens when there’s a little controversy.

One Thing that has gone unnoticed by many Chipper Skeptics (including myself at times) is that he is off to a WAYYY Better start as opposed to a year ago…he is back to being the 3 hole hitter.I still don’t think he will drive in 100 runs but if he does, we make the playoffs by Default as the Wildcard…Having J-Hey Score 100 runs this year will definitely help his chances of doing so
The Braves haven’t had a 100 rbi producer since Tex…? I’m Guessing, and that was split stats…So unlike the roid era where we had 3-4 guys in the lineup drive in 100 runs annually it seemed

Bat Masterson, I was trying to put myself in McDowell’s mind, trying to think logically of what had occurred.
My intention didn’t wasn’t meant to hurt anybody’s feelings or beliefs. I may not like gay people but I treat them with respect, because that’s the way everybody treats me. And if you wrote what you wrote because of the extremely exaggerated stat I threw out there, then I understand.
April 29th, 20115:52 pm
The video of Gloria with the bat may be the worse press conference ever. I mean, really… the little girls are trying laugh through the entire thing. When she does the demonstration with the bat, the father looks like he’s trying not to lose it. I’m not saying that means McDowell should get a free pass on whatever happened but it is just absolutely bizarre.
“Tomahawkin, you Chop Housing it tomorrow? Thinking about heading down to the game, if I can convince some friends to go…”
Man! Dude I would since its a Saturday game against the Cardinals, but Damn I’m Broke as a Joke…

Seems to me the best course of action tonight on the blog would be to stick with the game events as a basis of discussion…continuing to rehash the events regarding Mr. McDowell and Mr. Lowe will just be overkill….again, I urge others to respect these guys enough to move on from potential insinuations and jokes during the course of tonights contest. Hey, we’re at .500 and we all know what a win will do….Go Braves and God bless Roger and Derek.
Tomorrow would be the perfect day to Head to the game, Gotta enjoy these Spring weekends before it gets hot as balls outside, then I will mainly be at Lake Lanier every weekend

Any Seinfeld fans out there remember the episode with Keith Hernandez and the “spitting incident”- a parody on the JFK assassination? (”Nice game, pretty boy!”- ring a bell?) At the end, it was revealed that there was a second spitter on the grassy knoll, who was…
Roger McDowell! Kramer and Newman then remember that they had spent the whole game heckling him in the bullpen, and poured a beer on his head. Roger is actually in the episode.
Forgive me if someone has already brought this up. I was watching this episode last night and almost fell out of my chair when Roger was revealed as the perpetrator- and why he did it.
I guess life really does imitate art.
Definitely not another feeble offensive performance
April 29th, 20115:56 pm
Tomas…..your 4:55pm assumption that 90% of San Francisco is gay is laughable. More like 20-25%. San Francisco has a significant Asian population (they make up the biggest % of the population in S.F.), and I can tell you that the Asian community is even more conservative socially than any ethnic group.
The demographics of San Francisco has been changing for quite some time. Other than The Castro (which is where the vast majority of gays in S.F. live)…every other neighborhood in San Francisco is vastly straight….some are significantly Asian populated (like The Richmond and Chinatown). And come November, it’s almost a given that San Francisco will elect its first Asian mayor (the current mayor, Ed Lee, was appointed by the S.F. Board of Supervisors to replace Gavin Newsom, who became Lt. Governor of California).
I’ve said this before, San Francisco is a straight man’s paradise. If you’re a straight white male over 6′ tall, there is NO REASON why you go without (Asian girls love tall white guys…that is BY FAR the biggest interracial pairing you see in the Bay Area).
Joke all you want about S.F. being gay. If you only knew…………..
How come when white guys make a mistake they are not referred to as “THUGS”???? but if your are black……….”sigh”
So wait, I thought white people can use the excuse, “I didn’t know I couldn’t do that officer.” Everybody needs a white friend named Chip to talk to the police. See Dave Chappelle

According to the following, there are witnesses coming out of the woodwork attesting to the Quinn’s version of Saturday’s events:
Definitely not another feeble offensive performance, Thats why I said it was an extremely exaggerated stat and I looked it up.
According to the 2005 American Community Survey, San Francisco has the highest percentage of gay and lesbian individuals of any of the 50 largest U.S. cities, at 15.4%. San Francisco also has the highest percentage of same-sex households of any American county, with the Bay Area having a higher concentration than any other metropolitan area
I don’t even live in the USA, I don’t have a clue except for what I hear people say
April 29th, 20116:01 pm
T’Hawkin, the Cards have seen good team pitching about 60% of the time this year 3-SD, 3-SF, 4-LAD, 3 CIN, 3 WSN. I do get your point about sample size. Poor sample size is probably the reason why WSN has good enough numbers so far this year to make this list.
Regarding your last post
You can take that to the Bank…
April 29th, 20116:03 pm
I don’t even live in the USA Tomas
I wondered about that. Where are you at Tomas?

nolie, I’m Colombian, live in Bogota, was born in Cartagena(in the coast)…..Julio Teheran, and Orlando Cabrera were born in the same city as me.
Coach (2011 Fredi G. a Go!)
Adversity serves to build character. Live and learn.
McDowell will keep his job as he should, but not without some serious punishment. As for Derek Lowe, as much as I truly despise drunk drivers, Lowe’s infraction is just a blip on the radar of his career. He will get the proverbial slap on the wrist, and it had better not happen again.
All in all these two off field incidents will have little impact on the field. So our Braves will keep right on playing competitive baseball. As they should.
April 29th, 20116:07 pm
T-Hawkin, co-sign the Chophouse. The best is going up there for extra inning games, once every one is “tuned up” as you would say.
April 29th, 20116:09 pm
Tomas, can you watch games in Bogota?
Also, is it as dangerous there as the media here would have everyone believe?
Tomas……If there was a way I could “snap my fingers” and make more men gay (I know, you cant make someone gay…..just hypothetically speaking)…I’d do it in a heartbeat. Why? Because the more men who are gay, the less competition for the females out there. It’s all about supply and demand. As it is, straight women are always complaining about there not being enough straight men to go around for them, lol!
Yet many of you homophobes cant see that, lol!
April 29th, 20116:10 pm
People should probably reserve some judgment on Lowe. Sounds like he may have been drinking, but the state will have a harder time proving he was over the legal limit since Lowe refused the dreaded breath test. Judging from his statement, Lowe is well advised. I think he will probably see a reduced charge.
April 29th, 20116:11 pm
According to the following, there are witnesses coming out of the woodwork attesting to the Quinn’s version of Saturday’s events: PL
“I have been contacted by other fans who allege that they witnessed the incidents in question and who state that they corroborate the conduct which we allege,” Allred said in an email. _ Associated Press
Out of the woodwork, huh.
April 29th, 20116:12 pm
When I go, I go for the whole game and hang over the railing…I’m usually Tuned up when I get there from tailgating so I don’t have to worry about losing my spot…If I do leave and then Come back, I have to do the “Get Out The WAYYY!” when I reclaim my spot…If you are going to tailgate in the Green Lot tomorrow? Give a Shout-Out To The “Thanks Bobby” Crew!
Should be interesting to see what the Braves pregame show and announcers are going to have to say about the past 2 days, lol!

I like rob a lot more when he’s positive and not worrying so much. Keep it up buddy!

“Because the more men who are gay, the less competition for the females out there. It’s all about supply and demand. As it is, straight women are always complaining about there not being enough straight men to go around for them”
Thats The way I look at it as well…Its a Bible-Belt Thing down here in the South as the reason why so many peole down here are opposed to homosexuals…
not like SF don’t have an interest in disrupting the Braves if at all possible.
Even if the incident was as described, we have no idea what instigated it do we? and I do not think it demands firing. Players and the occasional coach have done worse without losing their jobs.
Thats All I have to say about that…
April 29th, 20116:16 pm
@nolie….not so much news to me….I know the type and kind that have taken up residence on the blog and the tone, many times, leaves much to be desired that is the main reason why I try to refrain from any hardcore discussions–especially when monikers are being erroneously used and it isn’t always clear who an author of any given post is…do try to have a good one though!
April 29th, 20116:18 pm
I didn’t think it would be Capt, just an expression…
I think PL is a bigot and an idiot and have received e mails from others that think the same thing.

Murph, I’ve got directv mlb extra innings but it’s not HD and it’s only 3 channels, and they choose games randomly. So I bought mlb.tv and if my internet permits me I watch all the Braves games I can.
Bogota is dangerous, a lot of criminals, but Colombia in general has improved a lot. The guerilla(FARC) has been reduced a lot. Kidnapps have reduced a lot ever since President Uribe took office, it’s Santos who followed him and has the same philosophy on security.
Cartagena is much safer, it’s a touristic city, very nice weather December-April.
We may have a rep that everybody is a drug dealer, but it’s not true. I haven’t ever seen cocaine or heroine in my life, weed on the other hand a lot.
I tried to Email you the exact same thang, but BatMasterson@AJC.com didn’t go through
T-hawkin, probably won’t get a chance to tailgate with a 1pm start…

I tried @ DodgeCity.com, too but no go there either
Man I know it’s early but said last winter would love seeing Berkman in a Atlanta uniform. Hopefully Chipper keeps hitting but really was envisioning seeing Prado at 3rd and LB in left field with Chipper retiring. Berkman’s demise was premature, the man can hit.

Sorry about the email fail. I’ll work on it.
April 28, 2011: More than 30 years after they left Earth, NASA’s twin Voyager probes are now at the edge of the solar system. Not only that, they’re still working. And with each passing day they are beaming back a message that, to scientists, is both unsettling and thrilling.
The message is, “Expect the unexpected.”
“It’s uncanny,” says Ed Stone of Caltech, Voyager Project Scientist since 1972. “Voyager 1 and 2 have a knack for making discoveries.”
Today, April 28, 2011, NASA held a live briefing to reflect on what the Voyager mission has accomplished–and to preview what lies ahead as the probes prepare to enter the realm of the Milky Way itself.
theres more to the article, an interesting diversion to all the bad news
expect the unexpected
cause its that time in reality

My beliefs are no different than Bill Maher. If you think I’m a bigot, then you should email him and call him one as well.
