Why is it so easy for the other team to hit a SF and the Braves cant. Can not stand LaRusso but he always out manages us can hit and run always amazes me how they can get a hit and then they get the SF. We win if McCaan gets a SF. Just knew Gerrin was going to give up a hit after that walk to the pinch-hitter. First hit they get two runs. Mather fails to get bunt down so we can hit into DP.Bring up another catcher so we can use Ross.

By the way guys please check this out, incase you forgot (which I did)
“On March 22, 2007 La Russa was arrested in Jupiter, Florida for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was found asleep at the wheel of his running SUV while at a green light. He was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail and blew a .093 blood- alcohol content, above the legal limit of .08.” – Wikipedia

How’s it going? Sorry about the Braves lose, but all in all not a bad April. McDowell put on leave. This reminds me of what happened to John Rocker, and the following year was released. I bet we see a new pitching coach next year. Just by how the organization handles itself. Just my opinion I coulod be wrong?

Yeah, I think we wasted a good pitching performance by our squad tonight because that 3-headed monster the Cards have in their lineup can easily put a hurtin on rook Beachy and Lowe can be seriously screwed in the head after his wild night out. Rasmus aint a bad hitter either.
Prove me wrong, Braves.

so far not so great for fredo. three straight extras we have lost.
should of won two of them.
i will be the first one to say the manager needs to be in the background, but fredo has made some real strange moves.
squeeze with two strikes in wash. why pitch to kemp, why not let EOF finish that inning, why let martinez bunt instead of using huddy, why not use the straight steal when nate leads off an inning in extras.
that is twice now.

I was thinking about the game on the drive home and IMHO the reason the braves lost is because their hitters made 36 outs without scoring more runs than our pitchers allowed over those same 36 outs for the Cardinals.
If McCann or Gonzo don’t hit into those DP’s or kimbrel doesn’t blow the save or anyone hits a solo jack or or huddy is able to shut down that inning or mcclellan has a more consistent strike zone or….or…or

You do realize there’s a difference between “drinking the kool aid” and acting entitled and whiny after a loss, right? MOST of the “positive” people on the blog never say the Braves are the best team in baseball, or the NL, or even the East. What they/we DO say, is that why don’t we all just watch and see what happens? Teams with far worse Aprils have gone on to do some pretty nice things.
I know it’s a blog and sometimes, the negative stuff is warranted. But it gets lost when after every single loss, the sky is falling.

Sure thing Frank. It definitely takes a lot of analytical thinking and patience to look at events that led to a loss and complain about them. Every. Single. Time. Not only that, but it must be a fun way to watch baseball since really good baseball teams lose over 60 times a season. Enjoy it.

Actually, if I ever caught a real home run ball from an opponent, I’d do all I damn well could not to throw it back. Would be tough to outlast all the fans screaming at me and calling me names, but I think I would at least try to hold out as long as I could. Might need to move sections, but I just don’t get the throwing the HR ball back thing.
I get it at Wrigley, yes, great tradition and all that. But once they started doing it everywhere else years ago, I just think it’s kind of stupid. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a HR ball, I think you’ve got every right to hold on to that sumbitch. But nowadays the whole damn stadium will just guilt you into throwing it back…

If you say so, Frank. One man’s “ridiculous!” is another man’s “that’s baseball”, I guess. I tend to chalk a lot (but not all) of our losses up to the latter, where as you and the rest of the bowl of sadders seem to think that EVERY loss must be the former.

This just shows what a Pollyanna I am: I watch the game, and think, “Well, not much for the doom-and-gloomers to whine about in this one.” Two good starters do what they’re paid to do, good defense (that’s the best throw to second I’ve seen, in recent memory), double-digit hits for the home nine. Kimbrel is human (no surprise; although 9 times out of 10, the hit-and-run fails with that pitch on the hands), but you can’t get wired about that, I’m thinking. So, all in all, a pretty good ballgame; just a bad result.
Then I read the post-gamers. Now, my face is red, from being so foolish in my thoughts.
There is no loss that cannot be laid at the feet of, oh, somebody. Or somebodies. The Braves are never beaten, they always lose. Got it. I won’t forget again.
