No eeee’s for that one buddy.
wonder which lucky pitcher out of the pen gets to face the meat of their order?
I love Mather’s versatility. Not everyone can get strkes bunting AND looking.
JC from DR!
Great job Prado, I love you!
What a surprise.
April 29th, 201110:21 pm
If the bunts off then freaking swing Mather.
What the hell.
Way to go Braves. The magic of Turner Field. Gotta love it.
Thank God Nate is so fast.
So he can get on base to lead off an inning and then just drop anchor. That speed really pays off.
Starting pitcher;s buntin
JJ – OK
Hanson – Not so great
Beachy – can;t bunt
DLowe- Wasted in the clubhouse playing need for speed
April 29th, 201110:22 pm
I loved the fact that the Braves won’t even try to steal a base anymore, unless it is Mac. They are asking to lose this game. The Cards bullpen is shyt, but they look great against us.
Finally get to see Gearrin live.
Come On Cory!
He is in a Pool Full of Piranas Now…Not Good
All we heard this spring was fundamental baseball!
The defensive part is ok!
Hitting seems like a no-no
April 29th, 201110:23 pm
By the way, I bet Mather hasn’t had a single sac bunt all year. Maybe the last two years?
So you bring him up in the ninth inning and ask him to do something, at the major league level, against a reliver with pretty nasty stuff, and ask him to do it?
Yep. Got what you deserved. I dont mind bunting the winning run to second. But I dont use THAT guy to do it.
“That speed really pays off”
5 team stolen bases on the season .. this team isn’t into making something happen they’re waiting for something to happen.
Gearrin, you won’t get a higher test than this one
That last Post was on Point! We Both feel the same way
“Tip your cap” – “blah, blah, blah” …
freddie – that 9th inning just stunk. big time.
I’m definitely not sleeping int he Martin shirt tonight.
April 29th, 201110:24 pm
Pujols is gonna hit one to the upper deck.
Not looking so great right now for us when Gearrin is pitching vs Pujols
linebrink no thanks
sherril is he even on the team
Martinez HR waiting to happen
rather not see you batting again until tomorrow Albert
In his next AB, that is.
Why Didn’t Fredi Call up Ramirez or Lucas? Mather Blows!
April 29th, 201110:25 pm
The lack of fundamentals that inning makes me wanna put a FUC**** hole in my wall. I hate mather why was he even up in that situation??? Unless he’s your best bunter which clearly he’s NOT he shouldn’t be in the game hell he didn’t even have a great BA in AAA he shouldn’t even be in the stadium!!!!!! Great call Fredi!!
Ho Sit Down!
This kid looks good….Moylan type of pitcher!
Maybe we can pull off another Venters … just righty
April 29th, 201110:26 pm
Oy- That slider of Cory’s is a nasty pitch!
Rookie is gettin it done…..
chili, i agree why not use hicks to bunt there.
April 29th, 201110:27 pm
That Rant was Funny! You sound like me! It Feels like a playoff game by looking at our piss poor fundamentals on offense
Gearrin is always going to be tough on righties. But can he get lefty hitters like this out consistently? If he can, wow, got another good one.
Great job Cory Gearrin!!!!!!
Gearrin is real deal.
Cory Gearrin…kid’s alright.
April 29th, 201110:28 pm
Cory might be our new closer.
I like this guy.
Gearen looks good. Now lets go to the bottom of the 10th and cement the Cards bullpen as one of the best known to man.
Perfection continues for rookie Cory Gearrin, this time against the likes of Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman….
ball never left the infield. ride that wave as long as you can. i know tnbrian is happy.
BravesFan, calm down, you’re going to blow a gasket.
Pujos Holliday and Berkman…….
J Hey Chipper and McCann……
Wich would you rather face????
Peter Moylan 2, that’s impossible to run off. A changeup called Dave is all he needs
Venters and Gearrin took out those 3 like they were nothing … Kimbrel comes in but can’t take care of the leftovers???
“Oy- That slider of Cory’s is a nasty pitch!”
Not just Nasty, but Freaknasty!
April 29th, 201110:29 pm
Offense Come On!
I want an alley ball to the wall!
Definitely not another feeble offensive performance
April 29th, 201110:30 pm
One cannot make this up:
McLouth hits a homer tonight…..and now this, lol!
for thos worried about gearrin only pitching weel against the padres relax- good move but still question the mather move wha tif constanza had been up their bunting think he has laid down several for hits
April 29th, 201110:31 pm
Gearrin looking good so far
We are making this Jabrone look like Mariano Rivera! Only the Braves! Phillies would’ve walked off by now
This Cards pitcher is nasty as well
One swing and it’s all good
Heyward chokes when it matters.
rob from sc
April 29th, 201110:32 pm
Book’s out on Jason. High cheese with two strikes = ownage.
nothing out of the infield yet for Jason and Chipper
i still can’t get over the fact that mcclouth knocked laird cross-eyed, but wouldn’t attempt a steal. laird couldn’t have thrown the ball on target to save his head after he took one in the noggin.
Damn Sanchez, you are the bomb! Why aren’t you leading the league in saves?
April 29th, 201110:33 pm
Except, of course, Jason’s HR and Chipper’s double…
DO something Mac….fer cryin’ out loud!
made easy work out of those 3
This offense is a joke
April 29th, 201110:34 pm
We don’t want this.
“Except, of course, Jason’s HR and Chipper’s double… ”
this inning stupid
Ump Blows! I wonder How many Drinks does LaRussa have On Deck tonight in Buckhead for these F’d up calls?
picky picky cab
April 29th, 201110:35 pm
You did say “yet” – And why must you name call?
I really miss the Atlanta Braves offensive approach from 2010. There was just something reassuring about a lineup comprised of guys willing to work counts and take walks.
Ump Blows! I wonder How many Drinks does LaRussa have On Deck tonight in Buckhead for these F’d up calls
I guess more than DLowe offered
April 29th, 201110:36 pm
Freddie Freebird leaps into the lead for dimwit of the night – quite an honor, considering…
Where was that 1st pitch stupid ump?
this ump is squeezing the plate on our picher but call anything near for the cardinals?
You made it sound like you were talking about the whole game because I thought the same thing she did.
The Abs Man
April 29th, 201110:37 pm
How does Fredi NOT hit-and-run with Nate on first, and Padro hitting in the 10th?
Fredi plays station to station even more than Cox.
Maybe Dan Uggla can hit a walk off.
I’m Sorry but Bobby C would’ve been Ejected Already!
I miss Bobby in Games like this where the Ump makes FUB’R Calls!
April 29th, 201110:38 pm
Don’t forget Heyward’s single
Jerry Mathers (The Beaver) can hit better.
that was a K
April 29th, 201110:39 pm
come on ump where was that?
WHERE WAS THAT???
OUR SKIPPER IS TO LAZY TO EVEN ARGUE!
AND SURELY BATTER TO 1ST
Tbraves, our offense would be a joke if it were actually funny and not sad.
Hey team, how ’bout that awesome strategy I used in the bottom of the ninth!
Once McLouth managed to reach base, I pull back Hinske in favor of Mather – Awesome!!!
Forget that Hinske is our best (only) pinch hitter, but Mather just got the callup so I’ll put him in the game to sac the runner over. What? He’s never had a sacrifice? No, I won’t use a pitcher to sacrifice, I have a FEELING about this – again, awesome!
Ok so Mather didn’t work, but there’s no need to let McLouth steal here. I know STL’s backup catcher is 50 yrs old and took a concussion from McLouth, but I just don’t think we can risk our one base runner here, even though STL’s heart of the order would come to bat in the 10th. Again, FREAKIN’ AWESOME IN GAME DECISIONS!!! YEAH!!!!!
Cards will e running on B-macc, Watch!
Come on Cory.
Don’t let these guys beat you.
Go ahead La russa run….
April 29th, 201110:40 pm
I stand corrected
