I'm embarrassed for the team

Bobby wouldn’t have let this kind of nonnsense to happen. McDowell and now Lowe!? These “boys” need to straighten up and do it QUICK. I don’t know what’s going on but Freddi needs to get it figured out and figure it out NOW. This is beyond embarrassing for a class act team like the Braves; on both counts.

Gonzalez needs to fire McDowelll because:
1. It’s the right thing to do. Gay bashing, dropping F bombs in front of kids and threatening fans… Are you kidding me? If I treated my customers that way I’d be fired on the spot.
2. It appears that he doesn’t have control of the team.

McDowell has told his apologies. We need to forget the PC people and let him proceed with his job. We all slip up. The only difference is he did it in front of kids. The PC do not count even though they think everyone should do as they do.

To all of you haters who think he should be fired……………..kiss my butt!!! He screwed up and should be punished. He has apologized and meant what he said. Fine him, suspend him, dock his pay. But firing him is not the answer. The lack of compassion in this world is disgusting!! You want to hate someone so bad, look in the mirror.

LEAVE MCDOWELL ALONE. One would think he committed a serious felony or something. No he should not have made the comments but I a sick of all the PC nonsense. If you disagree with a black person or the President…automatically you are a racist. If you see two gay people in public displaying extremely antisocial behavior and dont like it…does that make you homophobic? He was responding to extremely tasteless behavior. If he had made comments to some gay people out of the blue just because they were gay it would be different. Why do we kiss the #### of one and a half percent of the population by making this a big deal.

It’s always humorous when the random gay guy, the black guy, or the woman are interviewed for the purpose of saying “It’s ok by me.” Presumably to show that person is enlightened and everyone else needs to get a life.

They were really just mad that the Braves swept them.

If they end up retaining him, he’s in for some major league heckling when he gets to Philly. I hope he goes to Anger Mgmt class long before that.

Roger will be fined and possibly suspended. He’ll be let go after this year if there is a lot of continued backlash.

Stanley, it was Keith Hernandez that spit on Newman and Kramer, it was on last night’s show on CW. Anyhow, people are called worse everyday, everywhere, so everybody get a life and move on!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still think it was Dykstra; that dude could’ve hit Kramer, Newman and Putty all in one shot.

First, all of the allegations have not been proven and the man has been found guilty without all the details being known. Second, it is highly suspect that such a high profile attorney is involved. Third, I wonder if the Giants fan would have had such a problem had the Giants not been swept by the Braves? Fourth, at least one third of the fans at the ballpark say things in the proximity of children that are 99% worse. Fifth, I wonder what kind of monetary damages the family is seeking since their lives were soooo destroyed by this incident. Sixth, I wonder if they stayed for the rest of the game. Seventh, he apologized…. so why were his words so capable of irreperable harm and harbored so much truth and meaning then when he apologizes they carry no weight at all? What a fickle, fickle generation we live in. Hope the kids actually see some of the money their parents get! Unbelievable.

All McDowell had to do was smile and head for the dugout. Or ask the security people to do their jobs. Roger’s job is on the field.

As for the First Amendment – the government doesn’t have the right to shut him up, but, the Braves certainly do.

Better wake up Leo – gonna need him in a couple of days – Roger can’t make it through this one without losing his job – and Lowe better start driving a Panda car for a while – he’s in trouble, too!

To all who are saying that Bobby would have never allowed this need to remember he did allow this stuff to happen. Remember young Chipper and a certain restaurant in Florida? Remember Rafael Furcal and his two..yes two…DUIs? And lest we forget the shenanigans of one John Rocker. Bobby tolerated those instances and would have dealt with Lowe behind the scenes just as he did with Furcal since it is basically the same situation. Remember “Fooky” never missed any games while awaiting punishment for his DUI or any real public scrutiny.

The Lowe situation is no problem. He lucked out by not wrecking or hurting anyone. It’s his personal issue. Issues like this get overlooked.

Seems to me that yes, Roger probably said some things and did some things he shouldn’t have done, but from the look of the “victim” it appears he is out to get his 15 minutes of fame and try to cash in. Fine Roger or suspend him a game or two and get over it.

Those of you calling for his head are missing the big picture here. We have a World Series to win. As Gene Chizik says, “All In, baby!”.

And those hoping for Leo to come back. Get a grip. I could have been the pitching coach with 3 Hall of Famers in my rotation.

He’s history. That’s what goes down in our PC world. He is a professional and realy should not be yelling at people that pay his salary.

This is giving in to the progressive liberals like we are doing in our entire society. I do not condone what Roger said. HOWEVER, we can not eliminate personality at ever level. Roger is a competitive guy and was upset. What happened to free speech? Why does someone have to be punished because someone else was offended? Who is going to be punished because I am offended that Roger is being treated like this?

There comes a time when we make too much of a situation that we don’t know the truth about. If Mcdowell did as he has been acused, fine him and let him apoligize, if he doesn’t fire him fire. We have bigger and more important things to deal with, like the 9 American lives that were lost this week in Afganistan. His actions pale in comparision to America wasting our young men and women’s lives in a war that is only supported by politicians. It’s time to realize what’s really important in life, and it’s not today’s professional athletes.
