phil, apparently, according to some stories, he also threatened a fan in front of his family and when the fan said “not in front of my kid” McDowell responded by saying that he “shouldn’t bring his kids to the game.” If true, that’s just not how Atlanta Braves should represent their team, and there should be consequences.

Yeah phil, stay safe man. Scary stuff. I went through a small twister when I lived outside Chicago that took off my roof and pushed my garage doors off the track and onto my wife’s car.
I just read that they average 2 of these “extreme danger” warnings per year… and this is like the 3rd or 4th already and it’s only April.

Who is the AAA pitching coach? Or do they even have pitching coaches in the minors?
I don’t really have an opinion on Roger as a coach. He’s neither good nor bad as far as I can tell. If he gets canned over this story I don’t think it’ll upset me too much.

DOB: Adding my thanks for the late-nite quottage. It is so interesting to hear from the catcher (besides just a few post-game quote-bites [but we are thankful for those too!]) speak in-depth about the pitching game.
Also interesting about his read on Harang: “When you catch a guy, you know what he’s got.” Yet another reason he was in the lineup last night.
OK, back to enjoying the 6-run lead on get-away day.
