Watching the Nats feed on the MLB package. FP Santangelo may not be any good at this but he’s WORLDS BETTER than Rob F’n Dibble. Good lord is he awful.
Dr. Noisewater, I don’t think 1 game is enough of a sample to determine that. If they still are scoring two runs a game after TWO games, though, you gotta think about making another change at hitting coach.
Arizona signed Ortiz to one of the worst deals of all time before the 2005 season. He was so bad, they finally had to release him during the 2006 season, even though he still had like 20 million left on his contract. He got in a few games last year with the Dodgers, but as far as I can tell, he’s done.
i know it’s only the 1st game, still would like to see some more hits from these guys…plus livan is always tough to hit off of. seems the braves are swinging aggressively today, which is kinda of nice
TG … why the hate for Conrad? Dude was arguably THE best pinch-hitter in the game last year … certainly had some of the biggest hits of the season. He’s not an automatic out by any means.
So who plays Rick Ankiel in “The Rick Ankiel Story”? Lou Diamond Phillips or Peter North?
Time to bench Freeman. Guy hasn’t had a hit all season.
Just getting those out of the way.
This Nationals lineup is … is … is … almost as bad as its starting rotation. More retreads than at an overnight truck stop. Wow.
Great changeup by peter. If he can get left handers out effectively this year, no doubt in my mind Braves have the best bullpen in the national league.
How ’bout ya, Moylan.
Talk about quiet — all the preseason talk on the bullpen and there’s been nary a peep on O’Flaherty. But it’s good to see him back and healthy and having another good lefty out the ‘pen can’t hurt, no?
Chillidog,

Just think that Freddie should bat 7th and let Alex bat 8th. As for Brooks, he had some highlights last year but I dont think any pitcher fears him
