Dr. Noisewater, I don’t think 1 game is enough of a sample to determine that. If they still are scoring two runs a game after TWO games, though, you gotta think about making another change at hitting coach.

Arizona signed Ortiz to one of the worst deals of all time before the 2005 season. He was so bad, they finally had to release him during the 2006 season, even though he still had like 20 million left on his contract. He got in a few games last year with the Dodgers, but as far as I can tell, he’s done.

TG … why the hate for Conrad? Dude was arguably THE best pinch-hitter in the game last year … certainly had some of the biggest hits of the season. He’s not an automatic out by any means.

I cant get excited about Brooks. .231 career hitter and even lower this past spring. If Im pitching, I’d pitch around Freeman to get to Conrad anyday. Heinske and Ross I wouldnt, but the others I would
Just think that Freddie should bat 7th and let Alex bat 8th. As for Brooks, he had some highlights last year but I dont think any pitcher fears him
