Bieber Fever. You can’t stop it.
You can’t even hope to contain it.
Try hitting it with a shovel and burying it in the backyard. It usually works for me…
March 16th, 20112:56 pm
Prado one-out double of LC corner in the sixth
FINALLY someone gets one past Youkilis! Good hit, Martín.
March 16th, 20112:57 pm
I thought I had Bieber Fever once. Turned out it was the flu. Apparently Bieber Fever is more of a fever/diarrhea thing while the flu is more of a fever/vomiting thing.
FYI in case you were wondering.
Murph: I got Super Street Fighter, Assassins Creed 2, and Dragon Age Origins. I have 19 games now for Play Station 3……
March 16th, 20112:58 pm
I thought Bieber Fever had a lot of vomiting involved.
If Mather ends up being the back up OF and with Lucas playing some 1B and other positions, I could see this bench….
March 16th, 20112:59 pm
I can’t stop thinking about Salazar… man I feel bad for the guy. From enjoying a day at the ballpark to this… it’s messed up.
Not a fan of either song, but funny they were yanking the Sox fans’ chains.
March 16th, 20113:00 pm
Could Marteen be the Venezuelan Pete Rose?
(the ballplayer part, minus the off the field stuff)
Mather has been sounding good in these games, I’m glad he has a chance to make the club.
Please don’t mention Bieber……. Can the beaver come out , and play……Can’t stand him. He stinks, and thats it……
March 16th, 20113:01 pm
I think Keylargo needs to start the season on the Gwinette blog. Maybe get a September Call up, or maybe not
With all the cuts, I feel fortunate to be held in high enough esteem, that the management is giving me a chance to go down to “Gwinette” to work on my game. I report as soon as I find out where the hell “Gwinette” is.
I’ll use Bieber for a speed bump…..To slow my car…..
March 16th, 20113:02 pm
Murph, I’m with you about Luis. I’ve been scouring the ajc and braves websites every day for updates on him. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. But from the way it sounds, he’s so lucky to be alive and will be able to be up and around and manage a club like he wanted to I guess that’s a blessing.
March 16th, 20113:03 pm
“Gwinette” sounds like somebody Tomahawkin’ might be dating.
March 16th, 20113:04 pm
I can stop Bieber! Just don’t listen to his crap…….
Ward, you going to get MLB the Show and play some co-op?
March 16th, 20113:06 pm
Sherrill is USELESS against righties.
Sherill is definitely just a loogy now.
March 16th, 20113:07 pm
Ward is channelling his inner Jules Winnfield on page 4. Everytime he hears Bieber, he’s Superfly TNT.
Come on Sherrill! Get a grip!
March 16th, 20113:08 pm
Sherrill = horrible. I dont want to hear it is one inning. Look last at last year. This guys is a worthless slob.
Salty doubles in a run to cut Braves’ lead to 3-2 in the 7th. Off of LH Sherrill, who issues a walk to Kalish and faces Nava with two on.
Kalish and Nava sounds like some sort of hummus. Or a winery.
March 16th, 20113:09 pm
Nice K by Sherrill one a righty there.
Sherrill will be a situational reliever. They are only letting him get some work in during ST. Not a concern.
March 16th, 20113:10 pm
Mmmmmmm, DOB, you’re making me hungry…hummus and a nice cabernet…
Hillybilly: Your committing suicide listening to Bieber. …..
Man, Sherrill is horrible.
Tie ball game
Reddick RBI single ties it. Sherrill’s given up a couple of runs and three hits in the seventh
Money well spent on this left handed soft tossing slob
Hillbilly: I say no more…..
March 16th, 20113:11 pm
We wasted a lot of money on veteran relievers this off-season it appears.
I still cheer for Salty… wish there had been a way to keep him in the organization.
March 16th, 20113:12 pm
Anyone got Sherrill’s ST stats handy? Is his ERA under 10?
Kevin in Chatty
Why would you cheer for Salty? He isn’t a Brave. Are you two friends or related?
Is Sherrill getting hit by left hand hitters or is it the righties doing the damage?
March 16th, 20113:13 pm
Why, why, why do we play “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” at games? I hate that song with the intensity of a thousand suns.
Dang, Sherrill sure messed up Tommy’s fine afternoon, didn’t he. Guy stinks. What did we give up for him???
O’Brien just said Buster Olney will be on next inning.
March 16th, 20113:14 pm
It’s righties doing the damages.
It’s going to be awefully hard to gauge a veteran reliever during ST that’s been assured a spot on the roster. I think Sherrill, Linebrink and Proctor(if we decide to keep him) will play dividends during the season.
Do we even need the veteran relievers we acquired with all of the young guys we have in the system? Were they just trying to replace the experience they lost with Wagner?
Jeebus, don’t crack that door. Please don’t let them in…
Braves signed Sherrill as a free agent. Didn’t give up anything but cash.
March 16th, 20113:15 pm
McCann with a double!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He struck out a right handed batter and had two rbi singles against lefties. Not what they planned.
Cool, I love listening to Buster.
McFann Ô Ô
McCann leadoff double in the 7th
Mac’s big butt just doubled?????????
March 16th, 20113:16 pm
Anyone got Sherrill’s ST stats handy? Is his ERA under 10?
4.5 coming in. Adding 2 runs in 1 inning would push it to 7.2.
Kevin in Chatty, thanks for the question. Unfortunately I am no longer able to answer questions directly on the blog. If you read my terms of service you would know that all questions must be directed to my email address which is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mixxo, Mac’s big butt is much smaller this year!
Hicks single to CF brings up Mather with runners on corners in Braves’ 7th, none out in 3-3 game
Hicks singled. McCann to third. Had to wait to see if it was gonna get caught.
March 16th, 20113:17 pm
Mac!!! Goody, goody getting that double
What’s happened to Hicks this year? dude couldn’t buy a hit over the last couple years at this level.
March 16th, 20113:18 pm
BMac’s first Double—saved it for a TV game!
C’mon Mather…..DO something!
March 16th, 20113:19 pm
Moylan is up in the bullpen.
March 16th, 20113:20 pm
Moylan looking slim & trim this year.
I wish they changed the rule that let’s a pitcher who gives up the lead the win when the team scores in the next half inning. With any luck, Sherrill will get the win…
Mather Ks swinging. Would have walked if he hadn’t swung.
March 16th, 20113:21 pm
A great Frenchy impersonation by Mather.
YES!! Nice one, David!
With any luck, Sherrill will get the win…
If it makes you feel any better, just remember what Rickey Henderson said:
“This **** don’t go on the bubblegum card!”
March 16th, 20113:22 pm
How ’bout Rossy getting down the line?
Ross with a suicide squeeze!!!!!!!!
Yep. Sox didn’t learn anything from last year when they couldn’t defend the bunt all year long and they just made David Ross look like Maury Wills. Hey, who doesn’t love Ross but that’s a play that has to be made.
March 16th, 20113:23 pm
Is there a fatter face than Reyes’?
Constanza is up!
I thought I saw Constanza. Probably on deck.
March 16th, 20113:24 pm
You all have a good one! Talk later tonight, and peace……
Mac’s big butt is much smaller this year!
Deb, you better not let McFann know you’re looking!
Ross with a suicide squeeze!!!!!!!! It worked!!!!!!!!!!
The Mayan calendar just took a sudden 6-day lurch closer to its end.
March 16th, 20113:26 pm
“if he had McCann’s butt”…
Still trying to get that out of my mind.
March 16th, 20113:27 pm
That was a safety squeeze, not a suicide squeeze. And actually, “That **** DOES go on bubblegum cards!” because he gets the win…
Funniest part was that it was a catcher suicide squeezing in another catcher
Why am I picturing Jake Taylor?
watching the espn3.com feed with the evil Dave O’Brien (actually, he’s a very good broadcaster, compared to many others) and Nomar. Lot of Soxage in the booth, since the ersatz DOB calls Sox games for NESN and Nomar is … well, he’s Nomar. But I’m stuck watching this idiotic commercial with whoever this Scoop Jackson character is. I thought he was the Senator from Boeing. My bad.
Safety/Suicide…both start with S
Kidding of course >_>
March 16th, 20113:28 pm
Honestly, look at what our starting pitchers have done this ST.
Barring injury issues, I think they look great 1-5.
Murph, have you been trying to meet your goals in RttS? I’ve pretty much given up on reaching them at this point. I met the first set and haven’t met all of them since.
March 16th, 20113:29 pm
OK, don’t be weird…
Yes. Rich “El Guapo” Garces.
Unless you mean active players.
Ooh, Moylan with the hops to snare the throw to first.
Nice catch, Peter!
Moylan looks slimmer.
Lucas just threw it to him and Moylan did a ballerina type move in the air to catch it to get the first out.
March 16th, 20113:30 pm
Sellout crowd of 11,235 at Dark Star on a Wednesday afternoon. Wow.
Braves/Disney/ESPN Wide World blah blah blah should think Red Sox for … being the Red Sox.
Good thing Moylan lost all the weight or he couldn’t have jumped that high to catch that high throw at first.
Nice leap by Moylan to catch that ball.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
