I can’t honestly say I’ve had anything shipped to me from that area of the country…I think NY and NJ are the furthest north and to the eastern coast as I’ve received anything…

PTown – I’ve never had trouble with Priority Mail. The Post Office is notorious for taking circuitous routes to get to their elbow, so maybe that’s what it is.
We used to live about 30 blocks from the Electric Company in ST. Pete, yet the P.O. would ship all the mail across the Bay to Tampa and then send it back over for delivery. Never figured out why.
Ralighbraves – I appreciate it. Transplant sent me a lot of grits and I even had someone send me Black Eyed peas (I can get them up here now) and DBack Mac (where is he these days?) sent me some homemade wine and some veggies he canned. Good stuff and definitely appreciated.
I usually send out a couple gallons of the best Maple Syrup that there is every year – comes from trees here in town and I can get it within days of the Dude tapping his trees..

Then again, Lowe really showed me something the last couple months and then his two starts in the playoffs, which if we had scored any runs for him whatsoever, he wins both…
Nice to have things so wide open like this, instead of, well, who’s gonna suck less, JoJo, Buddy, Jorge, or Charlie…

I really think with the offense the Braves have that both Huddy and Hanson will be close to 20 wins this year. I think Hanson’s luck will turn around as far as getting run support…the Braves owe it to him after last year.

Well, after a couple of Spring Games (huge sample size early on, I realize, but nonetheless), taking into consideration Nate’s work so far, Freeman’s hot bat, Dominic Brown’s struggles, Utley’s knee issues and Lee’s Lat strain, does it look more to y’all that the Braves might well contend closely for the Division lead? Or are we still standing on the ledge close to yelling “Ballgame”?

Transplant – Not surprising – Maple sugar – kind of like apples – need a certain amount of cold for it to be good. Most southern states (minus maybe the NC mountains) don’t get the requisite cold for it to work well.

From most of the comments I’ve read or heard, Card fans are practically giving up on this season. And of course they are throwing in the obligatory cheap shot toward the Cubs on their way down Dejection Blvd(because that’s what they do best.)

And yes, anyone who has been around for some time knows that I have been a big supporter of Prado all the way back to his AA ball days.
I’d say I have a current top 5 though…

We’ve had more than 800 quakes since September. The one that hit Sunday night was a 4.7 which was the largest quake in the state over the last 35 years.

Fargo – I used to live in St. Pete, Fl. My Former Doctor (and still a good friend) is Seth’s next door neighbor. Seth commissioned me to do some art for him – that’s one piece on the site.
Got taken out to lunch and comped tickets at Fenway – saw Schilling win his 200th game with Seth as the losing pitcher.
Seth is a really good Dude and I hope he sticks with the Rangers this year.

I never really though that a LOF like me would ever find anything worthwhile on FB, but I’m liking it. Get tot alk to friends much more than I ordinarily would, but also have reconnected with all my old Fantasy artist friends and they continually post hundreds of great pieces of art on a daily basis. Even have friends in Ireland now and have been getting lots of great Irish art, too..

PTown – I’ve also done plenty of Olympic Gymnastics and swimming portraits – and LOTS of footbal paintings for the Bucs back in the late 80’s (when they were terrible). I think the total is in the fifties of players in MLB and the NFL who own my art.
Lots of Rock and Roll stuff, too – sold a painting to Steve Tyler and Clapton signed one for me.

Prado had me fooled because I’ll admit when I first saw him I thought he was a good bench player , nothing more. Man was I wrong about him and I’m glad because he is an all-star and team player who keeps the clubhouse loose. Yeah I got my Uggla player t-shirt a couple weeks ago, already wore it poudly a couple times around the Chicagoland area. My top 5 in no particular order are: Uggla, Heyward, Chipper, BMac, and Huddy.

AT … I just read an article about how disposal of hydraulic fracturing waste water may be contributing to increase in earthquake activity. As usual with all environmental science, a lot of speculation and not much data.
On the other hand, the New Madrid fault is over-due to pop. The stuff up in GreenBriar could be a precursor to a big earth quake.
For those of you who have never heard of the New Madrid fault, the last time it popped in 1812, it (allegedly) caused the Mississippi River to run backwards, and it did change the course of the Mississippi.
