Enjoyed the article, Carroll. I also saw the results of the spring game, and looks like Chipper has gotten off to a quick start in these two games. McLouth also seems to be doing well, so far, hopefully he can silence many of his critics, including me.

Visibility stunk in certain areas but overall not bad, McFann. Heard there was hail in certain parts of Gwinnett – mostly near Mall of GA.

Ok, I think I said this about 1,000 times last year. Stop acting like YE got traded for AG straight up. We did not sale low… we got other value back in the trade that acknowledged that Yunel’s affordable contract merited the Braves getting other compensation in the deal.

That storm scared my 2 Shih Tzus more than me. We laid under the weight bench in the basement for a while, but no damage done.

Anyway, Blair, no way I re-sign McLouth. Any player that can go into a slump that lasts all season is just scary to me. I hope he does well this season and the Braves get something good out of trading him at mid-season. I think that will happen, BTW.

RG – I’m glad you’re here. I hope we have no hard feelings over our earlier exchange.

Truth be known, I was an avid Yunel fan. The revelation that the team gave AG a standing ovation when he arrived caused me to rethink this matter. I guess my military background made me understand that, for the Braves, the team is more important than the individual. That helped me to deal with the trade although I was as shocked as any by it.

AG is a very solid and talented SS and I refuse to hold it against him because he was Yunel’s replacement. That isn’t fair to him.

That’s just my take. No hard feelings here. As Ward would say, …peace….

Not your imagination Soph, I see it too and that lack of effort likely cost Woodson his job. When things don’t go their way some players get visibly frustrated and they go away from their game plan. Thats why I was afraid firing the coach wouldn’t be enough to improve this team because to me its the players and their attitude that needed to change the most. This team was more talented than that team that was swept in blowout fashion by the magic but unlike other elite teams they don’t always fight through the tough times, they give up. They aren’t young anymore, time to grow out of that phase. I hear Kirk is the kind of player that doesn’t mind being that tough guy and tells the truth on the court. Maybe thats what we need the most, that attitude that he is bringing.

Lowe’s comments in the secondary blog (or whatever they’re called) make it sound like it really takes a toll on him to throw that slider so much. I wonder if he’ll go all out with it like he did in September from Day 1, or if he’ll ease off it during the season just to maintain stamina through the whole year. I know that sounds ridiculous, but reading his comments, he makes it sound like it takes so much of a toll that he might not last a full season.

We got a midget SP who we traded for Derrek Lee who is now gone.

Actually, we got Tyler Pastornicky, a SS who is a real prospect. The midget RP, not SP, was traded in the Farnsworth/Ankeil trade. We got more than fair value for Yunel. Particularly since he was going to be traded no matter what. I think the standing ovation Gonzalez got when he showed up speaks volumes about how Yunie’s teammates felt about him.

Home of the Braves – I read the same article and came away with none of your concerns. Lowe did not intimate that throwing a slider takes a toll on him. I think the standing ovation Gonzalez got when he showed up speaks volumes about how Yunie’s teammates felt about him.

The infamous standing O. Hopefully the braves actually like Seabass for Seabass and not because he’s just not Yunel. We get it, the boys didn’t play well together in the locker room. Something tells me though the main reason we traded Yunel was because of the lack of production on the field, not the fact that he failed the locker room chemistry test.

KIRK was playing championship ball, and every other WIZARD was either dogging it or wondering where they were supposed to be. He is elated to be out of D.C. I can tell you that.
