Our first taste of an actual lineup that is close to a game day lineup, i like it.
The home that mickey mouse built.
February 28th, 201112:59 pm
Brave4life-1995 it’s not on TV….better hop a plane and quickly

February 28th, 20111:01 pm
brave4life: dont think you can unless you have mlb tv but the thursday game is on ESPN
February 28th, 20111:02 pm
Welcome back Carroll!!! At least you aren’t doing the GT basketball blog. Nothing more painful than that.
Rock on…..The Hokies did the ACC a huge favor beating Duke. Now that is a crowd. GT can only dream of that now.
February 28th, 20111:04 pm
Has other players from opposing teams asked chipper about his knee? Im sure as respected as he is they would of?
February 28th, 20111:07 pm
Does O’Brien ever work three days in a row?
February 28th, 20111:08 pm
Who’s on the hook for play-by-play?
February 28th, 20111:10 pm
hell yeah…nothing like streaming braves baseball while at work!!
Derek Lowe has given up singles to the first two hitters he’s faced, Bourn and Wallace. One hard hit, one not.. now one out in first
The Living Legend
Excellent news about Chipper’s knee and playing today. I will get real excited when he plays the field two days in a row. Cannot wait til the first game is on tv. Hope he plays Thursday. Be interesting in seeing how Brandon Hicks plays.
Willie Hayes Mays
I’m not watching or listening, just looking at gameday but Bourn and Wallace both hit groundball singles then Pence flew out to Prado… 1 out first and second
February 28th, 20111:11 pm
No radio or internet feed for me. This is all I have, so if someone can keep us updated on what’s happening in the game, I would appreciate it.
You can listen online if you subscribe to mlb.tv
And Lee grounds into inning-ending DP 4-6-3
Lowe gets Carlos Lee to hit into an inning ending double play. 0-0 middle of first
February 28th, 20111:12 pm
So is there radio feed today?
February 28th, 20111:13 pm
Hasn’t he just worked 14 days straight?
Now lets get some runs.
February 28th, 20111:14 pm
February 28th, 20111:15 pm
no speakers on my computer…but ive got 2 am/fm radios here at work
February 28th, 20111:16 pm
Whatever happened to working the count
February 28th, 20111:17 pm
thanks for the welcomes….and there was a Ric Flair for a base hit by Nate McLouth, and a double play grounder by chipper
@ enz 1:07
yikes. beware the wrath of DOB.
I am watching the 2000 HR derby where Chipper participated in. He looks like a young stud
February 28th, 20111:18 pm
the radio is delayed by almost 10 min for me. the top of the 1st just ended
February 28th, 20111:20 pm
I know. sucks. but its better than nothing
February 28th, 20111:22 pm
Boy, this Buck Belue is tough to listen to.
February 28th, 20111:23 pm
I am very optimistic about Lowe and JJ, if they can perform the way they did a couple years back the Phillies will have some competition in the NL east
February 28th, 20111:24 pm
2 scoreless IP for Derek Lowe, two singles to first two hitters then retired five in a row, three on groundouts.
I was thinking the same thing Snot,
Buck Belue is not good on his show (buck & kinkade), and he’s not much better doing play-by-play
February 28th, 20111:25 pm
Launch one Uggla
February 28th, 20111:26 pm
Obviously you don’t listen to pregame on 680?
I hope you don’t think Kincade is any better…
February 28th, 20111:27 pm
Uggla gets first hit of spring with sharp single to left
Carroll, do you think Chipper will hit in the 3rd spot in the regular season? I’m hoping that w/ Bobby and his loyal-to-a-fault lineups retiring, that Chipper will move down the lineup this season. No logical reason for him to hit 3rd.
so this is how it could work….McCann singles, Uggla singles, Heyward advances them to second and third, now scoring opportunity with one out for Gonzalez
February 28th, 20111:28 pm
Fargo thanks for the radio link…
Willie Mays Hayes
February 28th, 20111:29 pm
Me too. I’m not expecting Lowe to repeat his Sept numbers but I think if he uses his slider more like he did last Sept then this rotation is comparable (NOT as good, but comparable) to the Phils. National media forgets how good JJ was two years ago.
Thankfully no. His affected delivery gets to me. Usually try to tune in right as the guy in a grave voice welcomes us to what seems like a horror movie.
I’ll go ahead and take this one…
Unless Chipper falls flat on his face in the next month, I fully expect him to start the season in the 3-hole, given everything Fredi has indicated.
Does O’Brien ever work three days in a row? enz
Yeah, he just worked 15 in a row, 12-15 hrs each day. But I’m sure you do that a lot, too, right? Right?
By the way, get back to work, enz. You’re not getting paid to blog.
February 28th, 20111:30 pm
Hopefully that would follow more than not w/ a 2b or 3 run HR…
eric the elder
My God, it’s like a recurrent nightmare – - the never ending one in which your neighbor shows you his vacation photos.
Here’s Chipper in the batting cage. Here’s Chipper running. Here’s Chipper batting right handed, and now one of him left handed. Here’s Chipper adjusting his jock.
Here’s a video of me asking Chipper about his knee over and over again.
Please, Carroll, make it stop . . .
February 28th, 20111:31 pm
I wish Yunel Escobar wasnt such a d-bag, this team would have one of the best young teams in the majors
No, I sure don’t. They are like any other sports talk guys…they are homers.
I used to listen only for tomahawk talk..but since they stopped doing that, I haven’t tuned in. I live in the midwest, so if I want homer talk, I might as well listen to the homers in my area.
Yeah, after the past couple days, I think I need to tone my ST listening to a manageable level…the season will be upon us shortly enough…
what station on the radio?
Hardly the case…
If you listened enough, you’d know Kincade is a Phillies guy…
February 28th, 20111:32 pm
I’m so glad we resigned Hinske!
My God, it’s like a recurrent nightmare – – the never ending one in which your neighbor shows you his vacation photos.
Did someone tie you down and make you click on the links?
Oh dear God…not an Escobar sighting…
JC from DR!
2-run Double by Hinske. Braves up 2-0
“By the way, get back to work, man. You’re not getting paid to blog.”
Strangely enough, I am. I’d say I might have to talk to the boss about it. But people look at you funny when you talk to yourself.
ground rule two-run double by #Braves HInske makes it 2-0 Braves, runners second and third one out for Hicks
February 28th, 20111:33 pm
You and me both Brava!
Guy brings so many things to the table for the ballclub.
HInske is the man
still wont forget that clutch 2-run HR he hit last year in the bottom of the 8th inning.
we all know how that game ended, not holding any grudges
Did you EAT their brownies?!
February 28th, 20111:34 pm
There we go. Hinske getting it done.
Yeah, if Bobby doesn’t pull Kimbrel and we hold that lead…
Hinske is a state hero…
He’s a philly guy!?
dear god…thank goodness they are not my source for sports talk…
how the hell does that work for ATL fans?
2-run Double by Hicks. Braves up 4-0 now.
February 28th, 20111:35 pm
Spivey that’s been covered pretty well these last few weeks. Chipper will hit third under the new regime as well.
two-run double to left by Hicks, 4-0 Braves
Nice early lead again…hopefully we can do some damage like this in the season…
Pitchers love pitching w/ big early leads
“I wish Yunel Escobar wasnt such a d-bag, this team would have one of the best young teams in the majors.”
We had Yunel last year and were NOT one of the best young teams in the majors. It wasn’t until Yunel and his automatic outs at the plate were gone that we turned into the better teams in the NL.
Besides. Freeman is younger than Yunel was. So now were one of the better “young” teams in the league and even with Gonzo at short, the average age is younger than it was last year.
And your point was……
February 28th, 20111:36 pm
The game is on 1230 the fan 2 in atlanta. Just type “1230 the fan 2″ into google and click listen live!
Oh dear God…not a scoring opportunity for Gonzalez, LOL.
February 28th, 20111:37 pm
Much more manageable when Leo is part of the pregame…
And hey, it could be worse, you could have to listen to Mike Shannon and watch Al Hrabosky
Yunel is not that young. He will turn 29 in November.
The game is on 1230 the fan 2 in atlanta. Just type “1230 the fan 2″ into google and click listen live!
Was! Mine switched abruptly to SportsCenter.
February 28th, 20111:38 pm
As I had said previously, he’s flipping GONE!
What point is there to harp on it now?!
Offense clicking today…nice to see.
I’m confused…were you agreeing with me there or what?
February 28th, 20111:39 pm
Apparently they probably thought you needed to hear more about Melo
same here snot…im working on a new link…
Escobar having one off year doesnt mean that he would stay that way. He has had an amazing 3-years before that. Last year our young rising stars were Hanson-Heyward-Venters. Whereas this year it is
February 28th, 20111:40 pm
Dude, you’re the poster who always makes a point of dissing the guy at any opportunity. Maybe you should take your own advice, eh?
Sure did Snotboogie. That sucks!
February 28th, 20111:41 pm
Back-to-back two out walks by mcLouth and Jones loaded the bases for the #Braves brings up McCann and ends Wandy Rodriguez’s day
McCann at the plate with the bases juiced.
Eric is THE MAN!!!
And I see Gonzalez did nothing with runners on 2nd and 3rd w/less than two out…he looks to be in mid-season form
Haha, i am not starting an argument, but still am not sold on Alex Gonzalez. He may be a veteran but is way too inconsistent. Last year when we need our veterans to perform most in the post season, alex gonzalez failed miserably
February 28th, 20111:43 pm
Melo? Please, no thanks.
Me want baseball!
Wandy is already gone…
Funny thing…they bring in a pitcher…
Effects guy blasts “Who Can It Be Now”
And I see Gonzalez did nothing with runners on 2nd and 3rd w/less than two out
Not true. He didn’t make an out, and I can live with that.
Gonzalez with a whopping 3-15 in the DS
February 28th, 20111:44 pm
Dude, he WALKED!
What the hell do you want from the guy?!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
