Yeah it’s something to see, really cool when you are boating at night on the bay. Your headline guy had been off his game lately, not a lot of good material to work with is my guess. Not doubt, with tourist season approaching, he will be hitting them out of the park again soon.

Bat, interesting story. The “bioluminescence” peaked my curiosity. I know what that looks like with deep sea creatures from seeing documentaries. But I didn’t know what that would look like on the surface of a body of water. Thanks to Google, now I do.

And I think that toxicologist will live a longer and happier life without the “BP” decal on his truck.

keylargo–I agree that the negotiations will want to open up the books a lot. Also, the financial problems of the Dodgers. Three teams having such financial trouble heading into the collective bargaining negotiations will make everyone very curious. Add to that the Marlins possible misuse of revenue sharing funds, and there will be a great deal of discussion.

key largo, moe berg—-I disagree. I don’t anticipate much labor/managment strife in upcoming negoitiations. MLB has never had such a period of prosperity as the last 10 years or so. No one wants what happened in 1994, and how it damaged the game.
The Dodgers and Mets troubles are more a weird type of mismanagment that is not typical of the other teams. Revenue sharing has helped the small market teams. All is relatively well in the world of baseball.

MIBravesFan

Playoffs!!!! – I was thinking the same thing. However interesting it may be to open up the books of the Dodgers, Mets, and Marlins, all signs are that the baseball labor talks are going smoothly and I hope it stays that way. Leave the strife for once to the other leagues (and let the NFL pluck the feathers off their golden goose if they wish).

well the local little Port Charlotte beach is on the bay rather than the big water and the water is not all that special. You can drive north or south 20 miles or so and be back on the coast with bigger nicer beaches and water, so it just didn’t turn out to be appealing enough for folks to pay to park. there is a decent non-beach park with nice horseshoe and bocce sights and no parking so they all moved too.
