and that the Holocaust never happened
February 27th, 201112:06 am
I don’t recall that jeffery.
February 27th, 201112:07 am
I do….I was there.
February 27th, 201112:08 am
Or that Ward was never real.
Now see Playoffs!!! watches baseball if a guy does one little thing in alot of peoples eyes he should be the opening day starter one person on this blog said Fredi Gonzalez was a stupid manager because he took JJ out after two innings, And that Kimbrel lacks focus after he gave up some walks and a homer. People were not saying that when he struck out 40 batters in 21 and a half innings last year or the promise he should in his postseason outings he was attacking the Giants hitters in those games and I watched every one from the 1st pitch to the final out!!!
February 27th, 201112:09 am
And Kimbrel blew the game. That’s it, the whole story.
February 27th, 201112:10 am
February 27th, 201112:11 am
The Matt Young debate I am rooting for the guy too 7yrs in the minors the guy is 5′8 and thats being generous he deserves a look and the job if he performs
Powder Blue (formerly "I Miss Ted Turner")
Maybe the Braves should take a flyer on Rick Vaughn. He’s just hanging out in the Bahamas.
February 27th, 201112:12 am
Kimbrel blew the game? ITS THE FIRST GAME OF SPRING TRAINING!!!!!!!!
February 27th, 201112:13 am
“Wild Thing” would be classic LOL
So? I like to make all my assumptions based on this game.
In other news, Freddie Freeman should bat 1.000 and hit 486 doubles this season.
February 27th, 201112:15 am
can we get Roy Hobbs to bat cleanup too?
February 27th, 201112:16 am
Kimbrel blew the game? ITS THE FIRST GAME OF SPRING TRAINING!!!!!!!!
The conversation is about last years playoff and my point is you can not lay all that at kimbrel’s feet.
Yeah People and Prado’s gonna lead the NL in Homeruns this year
February 27th, 201112:17 am
I already posted what he would do based on Sat, get your own subject
Easy there, champ.
February 27th, 201112:18 am
Can Hobbs play CF?
we can iffen we wanna
Im not putting that on Kimbrel at all those kids down in the pen showed alot last year people just expect them to have the guile of Billy Wagner or Mariano Rivera right now
February 27th, 201112:20 am
Let’s not talk about who blew Game 3 of the playoffs v. the Giants. Let’s not talk about the past. ( Wait a Minute–Isn’t that what Mark McGuire said…)
And Kimbrel blowing the lead today. Let’s hope it’s not foreshadowing.
February 27th, 201112:21 am
Kimbrel’s probably going to blow a lead at some point during the season. It happens.
February 27th, 201112:22 am
Sorry Brooks, sometimes the truth hurts.
February 27th, 201112:23 am
People soooooooo Easily forget all the game changing hits and spark that Brooks Conrad gave the team last year! I can only imagine but dont want to assume that when he made that error today that it bothered him cause he knew that people were gonna bash him even in the 1st spring training game. I SUPPORT all the players when they are going good and even when they are slumping. It was Reallllllllll hard to support that obviously out of shape, byproduct of a Yankee lineup castoff Melky Cabrera but he was a BRAVE
February 27th, 201112:25 am
Melky was a gelatinous blob.
February 27th, 201112:26 am
Nobody could eat stuff of their bat like Melky.
could he possibly play it any worse than Melky did?
or we could get Joe Hardy, he played center
February 27th, 201112:27 am
so was Moylan
February 27th, 201112:28 am
nolie–Joe Hardy’s playing for the Devil Rays
February 27th, 201112:29 am
Rays guy sux
People soooooooo Easily forget all the game changing hits and spark that Brooks Conrad gave the team last year!
Seems to me the constant refrain here is all the game changing hits he had last year.
February 27th, 201112:30 am
Anyone notice that when the Braves git rid of a player the Royals pick them up I.E Bruce Chen, Frenchy, Melky, Kyle Davies! I know Dayton Moore is their GM but comeon. Ohhhhh in the 2011 USA Today Baseball Magazine they had an article about the leagues most overrated and underated players and sure enough Frenchy was one of the Overrated. Sorry Frenchy fans but he is a Football player trying to play Baseball
February 27th, 201112:31 am
doesn’t mean he will do it again this year. Look at Norton. Connie prolly had the year of his life.
February 27th, 201112:33 am
they also have the top rated minor league system now
February 27th, 201112:35 am
February 27th, 2011
You know come to think of it, there may have been a mention or two along those lines here.
February 27th, 201112:36 am
The daily blog checklist: 1) Bash KK (even when he’s not here), 2) Bash Melky (even though he’s gone now. 3) Praise Jordan Schafer . 4) Repeat
February 27th, 201112:37 am
Brooks was an important piece in the 2010 Braves puzzles. Like Ive said before this team has been a singles occasional 2bagger team with no speed pitching kept them in almost every game last year cause there where so many of the 6 4 3 inning ending double plays grounded into by Melky and Company they were 6th in the NL in Runs scored but those 10 to 2 blowouts they had were usually followed by a 2 to 1 lost with only 5 hits the whole game which were usually 4 singles and a double. It was obvious they needed a change thats why TP is wearing that Helmet at 1st base and not in the duggout not blaming everything on TP at all but the last good hitting coach this team had was Don Baylor in 99 when Chipper won the MVP
February 27th, 201112:38 am
Playoffs, or bash Bobby Cox if Robert is here.
February 27th, 201112:39 am
Melky deserved bashing for the rest of his miserable playing life
February 27th, 201112:40 am
What nolie said. I cannot respect a baseball player who wears pajamas on the field and who costs more to feed than he does in salary.
Brooks was an important piece in the 2010 Braves puzzles.
haven’t seen anybody deny that
February 27th, 201112:41 am
Yeah but Royals are the Pirates of AL
My Bloom County books came today. I’m thrilled with them, looking forward to perusing them at my leisure.
maybe a wee bit of hyperbole there Trey….
February 27th, 201112:42 am
hey that was quick enough Bat. I’m usually pleased with their service.
or we could get Joe Hardy, he played center
Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets…
February 27th, 201112:44 am
First time I have used them, nolie. I’m happy with the service and price, thanks for the heads up.
Thats one thing I dont agree with In Baseball Im Sorry but Frenchy has not played up to the 5.75M or whatever he is getting paid this year. Mark my words he is kicking himself for not taking the multiyear offer Mac took when the brass approached BOTH of them
February 27th, 201112:49 am
What. Francoeur is making 2.5.
February 27th, 201112:51 am
he aint worth the 2.5 he is making
Where is Franceour now?
February 27th, 201112:52 am
coupla funny things about those old days Jim.
In the stage plat Gwen really shakes her hips during”A Little Brains” but they deemed that too risqué for a family movie.
Also in England they named it What Lola Wants cause they did not want to use the word Damn on posters etc
course you prolly already know all that
February 27th, 201112:53 am
First time for Amazon.com Bat?
February 27th, 201112:57 am
If he would have took the multiyear deal he was offered him and Mac would be making about the same. But for a player that still cant layoff breaking balls in the dirt and that Low and away slider 2.5M could be spent better somewhere else. People still pull for the guy for what he did in highschool, Wren even said that year when Frenchy was getting all the attention that people underestimate Mac, Five AllStar games 4 Silver sluggers and more RBI’s and Homers than any other catcher in MLB including Mauer looks the SI picked the wrong “Baby Brave” for their “The Natural” Cover.
February 27th, 201112:58 am
I just love to browse the bookstores. Sometimes with something in mind but mostly just open to finding something I like. I’m going to use them again though. I think that Abes books link you gave me will come in handy too. Still have to support the local bookstores would hate to lose them.
February 27th, 201112:59 am
with the emphasis on the latter…
and most people would connect Ray Walston with a certain extraterrestrial rather than Mr. Applegate…that was the movie that struck me as the missing link when baseball movies came up earlier…
February 27th, 20111:01 am
RHR would be so happy to see fellow bashers…
February 27th, 20111:02 am
Francoeur is with the Royals.

This is half of the verbiage given to the actual game today in a lengthy story in the NY Times (most of which discussed economic turmoil)…
Out on the field, pitcher Jenrry Mejia, one of the Mets’ prospects, started the game and looked good much of the time. As he pitched, vultures soared over the playing field, apparently surveying the terrain for sick, vulnerable animals or decaying carcasses. On this day, at least, none were readily apparent.
February 27th, 20111:05 am
Francoeur is playing for the Royals this year. I know Im bashing Frenchy a bit trust me I loved the “Baby Braves” and wanted him to be a cornerstone with Mac for years to come but he never made the adjustments people love the guy still from what he did in highschool. If you think it didnt bother Mac even a little and I dont want to assume or put words thoughts or feelings on Mac that Frenchy was the guy getting the hype and the respect while he played “Robin” to his Batman? Even in highschool he was the “other guy” to Frenchy’s Stardom. Now Mac is growing into the clubhouse leader to take over the reigns from Chipper while Frenchy was traded in season to the Division Rival then the Muts shipped him to Texas to going to Dayton Moore ex Braves brass that helped draft the kid
I used to do that Bat but now I buy most everything other than victuals off the net. Some at Walmart, but mostly places like Amazon for general stuff and of course specialty sites for other stuff. Use Half.com a good bit. It is a subsidiary of EBay with having to bid
DOB – any suggestions on getting autographs or such for someone going down to ST at Dark Star for the first time? I won the ESPN the Weekend contest on Buck and Kincade and me and a buddy are going to be down there next Thursday through Sunday and will be attending Thursday and Saturdays game. We will be in the VIP suit for Thursday, but I don’t really know where that is. Not sure how it will all go, but look forward to the trip and finally seeing some baseball for the first time in months.
February 27th, 20111:07 am
DOB – here’s an article you wrote about Beau Torbert back when the Braves acquired him. I love his numbers regardless of where he is playing and am pulling for a miracle. Can you give a brief update on him?
February 27th, 20111:08 am
February 27th, 20111:09 am
His numbers are pretty meaningless playing where he did no matter what they were KL Minor league cannon fodder
nolie, I have been doing a lot of that bidding stuff lately. You can get some really cool stuff, like Juan Gonzalez, or someone better’s autograph for cheap. That is, of course, if you win. I never used half.com, but I do use sites quibids, or ubid.
February 27th, 20111:11 am
Gotta give credit ti the Times there ,VJ.
What the team really needs is for the Colorado Based Liberty Media to get off the ski slopes and head to the TED for a homestand

Yeah looks like My Tarheels will move up in the standings the Top 25 took a hit this week. I watch DUKE games too, Coach K is a living legend much respect for that man. Plus he is one of the college coaches that actually has loyalty to his Program and the kids that play for him by NOT jumping ship to NBA
February 27th, 20111:44 am
