Mid-infield back-up is a definite concern, I think. None of the three who seem to be in contention are impressive. Conrad is serviceable at 2B, but I don’t want to see him at SS. Diory is okay defensively, but I don’t ever want his bat up. Lucas, we shall see.

It is early, Ward. Conrad could suddenly improve on his fielding skills, but that isn’t likely. You can’t say you want the Braves to improve on their defense and advocate for Conrad to be on the bench at the same time.

Ward—Now the Mets are a burden on their fans. Their starting pitching is a joke. Roster with aging, over-priced players, ownership with legal and financial woes that could last for several years. Best thing for them is if Wilpon sold the team.

“Best thing for them is if Wilpon sold the team.”

He is trying to. Initially, he was just marketing a 25% stake. He is now making it clear that as long as he remains majority owner, he is will to sell any stake.

Agreed, Schafer Is The Golden Boy of the Blog, Had Yunel gotten Busted For roids the hate for him would be off the chain. And Diory always hits against AAA pitchers…He’s a 4-A hitter, one who clowns in the minors but struggles against ML pitching

Not that Jordan Schafer is the single hottest prospect in baseball, and it’s only a matter of time before Fredi names him the outfielder and moves Heyward and Prado to be extra infielders.

I just don’t think that is realistic He needs ABs at Triple A. Keeping him on the roster is not a good idea.
