“If towards the end of spring training I’m throwing like that, I’d probably be a little bit more worried…. ’m looking forward to my next outing on Wednesday, and hopefully with each outing I’ll improve on what I’m working on, and hopefully things will keep getting better and better….
“My arm felt good. No problems. It’s still early. It’s a process to get ready for the season, and we’re still at the beginning of it.”

I always Wonder Why FSN Doesn’t carry the Braves S. Training since the braves are a Regional team and the games are usually on during the day when nothing is on but Soap Operas?

Probably like most things in business: not enough ROI. Airing it probably doesn’t generate enough revenue to make the cost of airing it worth it.

Soph – to be honest, I’m not too crazy about spring games. At least not the early ones. All the regulars aren’t in, and even the ones that are you can’t make much of their performances.
I am, however, looking forward to the UGA/USC (sorry CAB) game at 7, as well as the conference tourneys and NCAA Tourney.

Me too, jeffrey. Can’t wait till tourney time. While it would be nice to see the spring training games on tv, I can understand why FSN doesn’t air them. I’m sure ACC basketball is much more beneficial for them.

I think so too, Ward. Kimbrel is a talented pitcher, he showed that last season. I think he may have been trying too hard today. He’ll settle down and get back to being his old self.

Always wondered why Venters wasn’t the front-runner for closer to begin with. He’s definitely the more proven commodity, major-league-experience wise. Kimbrel was just kinda anointed with minimal ML service; don’t really get it..

I remember this big, burly married soldier we had in one of my units in Germany. We had gone to the field, and I guess this dude had a brainf*rt, because when he went to take a shower the first night (in a communal shower, of course) he pulled his pants down and was wearing women’s panties. Needless to say, that spread like wildfire throughout the camp. Next thing I knew, the guy was being sent back to the rear for counseling. Soon after, he was reassigned. Weird stuff.

@ Brava: I agree. Wags will get in shape in the minors the last 2 weeks in June, take the field in July. He’ll do it because deep down, in places he doesn’t like to talk about at birthday parties, he wants to know how he would do in the Series…he NEEDS to know how he will do in the Series.
