WAGS!!! I know you’re reading this! Come back! We need you!!!
February 26th, 20114:30 pm
Tomahawkin, thanks a lot!
February 26th, 20114:31 pm
Hopefully it ends in a tie >_>
Lucas fields a grounder for the second out.
Jonny should have been the closer.
I’m Glad this isn’t a night game since I have to get up in the mornings now…
Hu’s at the plate.
“I don’t know’s” on deck.
Can we retire “Ballgame!”? It was funny at first, still got a chuckle after awhile, but now it’s so overused and hackneyed.
February 26th, 20114:32 pm
Well thanks bringing the jinx. You ask and you shall receive.
Got out of that >_>
Grounder to third. We’re on to the eleventh. Braves 5, Mets 5
Someone find Tomahawkin and beat him up.
I wouldn’t put too much stock into ST.
Last year, the San Francisco Giants had the most wins in the Cactus League. Anyone wanna take a guess at who had the fewest wins in the Cactus League?
February 26th, 20114:33 pm
Ya’ll do realize that none of these guys is going to sniff the major league roster this year?
Don’t think they’ll play 11. Think it’s a tie.
February 26th, 20114:34 pm
“F U, Tomahawkin.
Bringing the jinx.”
OUCH! (Shaking Head) Don’t Blame me, I didn’t do it…It was some foreigner…
Yeah, game’s over, tied at 5-5.
ab,yes, but it is fun to give Tomahawkin a hard time.
February 26th, 20114:35 pm
Couldn’t watch this one. What did Bobby do to blow it?
Braves didn’t win, but at least didn’t lose either >_>
rob from sc
For those watching. What happened with Kimbrel…Was he just missing in the zone?
Tie games are almost as bad as losses. Thank goodness they don’t tie in the real season.
“Someone find Tomahawkin and beat him up.”
Ouch, Oh Well Game Over
February 26th, 20114:36 pm
Only a Socialist, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage Democrat like Obama would approve of a tie.
Powder Blue (formerly "I Miss Ted Turner")
“OUCH! (Shaking Head) Don’t Blame me, I didn’t do it…It was some foreigner…”
February 26th, 20114:37 pm
Tip your Cap to Willie Harris, he came through when it counted…
Where is Robert and No More Bobby…?
I bet Schultz’s blog is off the chain in full panic mode because of what happened to Kimmie and Connie…
Frank Wrong obviously doesn’t know the blog rules…
February 26th, 20114:38 pm
You know who else likes ties? Qadahfi likes ties. I guarantee you he would take a tie with those freedom fighters in Benghazi right now.
February 26th, 20114:39 pm
Couldn’t watch this one. What did Bobby do to blow it?
He possessed Fredi in the ninth, making him leave Abreu in although his pitching was disastrous.
I know the blog rules. I was simply drawing a comparison about who likes ties and who doesn’t.
Well, the proctologist will be on soon to tell us it was Bobby’s fault.
LOL at Brava.
And Lets get on those Bast-ards Bush and Cheney for the Spike in Fuel Prices…I’d love to meet those two in person
February 26th, 20114:40 pm
Video of Freeman’s doubles and Hinske’s HR is up fast.
I approve of bozo-ing Frank Wrong now.
then you forgot to cover all the bases and draw the comparison that Buddhists approve ties. oh…and bud selig…
Bobby used the Jedi Mind trick on Freddi, and made him bring Kimbrel in way too early. Kimbrel, being a late inning guy…had a bad day.
February 26th, 20114:41 pm
Frank Wrong ,
One more, you risk being banned here.
That was my one and only political post of the month…I think thats the easiest way to get Bozo’d and thats talk about politics
Tomahawkin … I was just giving you a hard time. No hard feelings. As the Yogi said, though, “It ain’t over til it’s over.” It’s one of the many things that makes baseball so great.
Damn, I knew it. Don’t the Braves have a sense of urgency? I bet Fredi will say something like, “It was a good start to spring training. We saw a lot of good things out of different people. Hinske put a charge in one and JJ threw it well.”
Well guess what Fredi? You didn’t win. The PHILLIES won! Against the Yankees! That’s why they’re going to the World Series and the Braves are losers.
//End sarcasm transmission
“then you forgot to cover all the bases and draw the comparison that Buddhists approve ties. oh…and bud selig…”
And people who enjoy kissing their sisters.
February 26th, 20114:42 pm
What we learned from the first spring training game:
1) No one got hurt.
2) That Freeman kid had a great game
3) Pretty much nothing else
Don’t get me started on Bud Selig. I like Buddhists though. Especially the ones who wear the red robes, and live at the Shao-lein temple. We should have at least one Kung Fu master on the team.
February 26th, 20114:43 pm
Well, the Braves are undefeated in 2011. There, I said it.
“I approve of bozo-ing Frank Wrong now.”
Naw, give him a chance…I don’t think it is necessary to Bozo someone over one post…Or maybe I’m being more compassionate towards others again?
February 26th, 20114:44 pm
I seem to remember that the Commish, Bud Selig, once approved of a tie. Does anything more need to be said about our beloved Commish?
Today was a good day in all. We saw that we have some really talented position guys trying to make their way aboard. All the major league pitchers, besides Kimbrel, had good days. And we did all this without the heart of our order (Prado, Jones, Uggla).
Powder Blue…does your name derive from the fish? (powder blue tang)
Bayou Brave – I thought JJ looked good out there today.
February 26th, 20114:45 pm
Nah, just a reference to the old 80s baseball unis.
February 26th, 20114:46 pm
…And people who enjoy kissing their sisters. – Powder Blue (formerly “I Miss Ted Turner”)
Yeah, like us having to kiss OUR little sister (McFann)…yikes!!
“Tomahawkin … I was just giving you a hard time. No hard feelings.”
lol, I know dude, You know We Go Back…I’m Just Glad it wasn’t a Regular season game, I would’ve gotten btch slapped by McFann, RHR, and Soph for Ballgaming it at the start of the inning…
Ok Time to bump some old Pharcyde
Thanks Tomahawkin. I promise…no more politics. Can’t wait for 2012 though.
More If-Then statements.
If JJ continues what he showed today, If Matt Young makes this team, If Freddie Freeman continues to take what pitchers give him and hit it to all fields, If Ski keeps on being Ski…then watch out…they might win 90+ games again.
February 26th, 20114:47 pm
Like I predicted to Bowman/Schultz, soon as we went downstairs to try to avoid crowd, chaos ensued. Watched last inning from stands. Willie freakin’ Harris two-run bomb off Broadway, on a pitch right down Broadway (rim shot)
“Powder River” has more edge.
February 26th, 20114:48 pm
Brava, JJ did have a solid 2 inning appearance, but more importantly, I think, is that no one got hurt on February 26th.
Some good takeaways today. Clearly you don’t manage these games to win…you manage these games to see who has got what. Agree with the Matt Young fans…he’s got something we need on this team.
February 26th, 20114:49 pm
Ah, so you jinxed us, DOB. Hum… now the truth comes out.
I think DOB is still in spring training with his jokes.
February 26th, 20114:50 pm
Just like old times.
Oh well, no pen and no closer.
Fab 5 Freddie (Freeman) Is The Autozone Player of the game…He’s Like the Kotchmeister with more Power…If he keeps Clowing like this then I will nominate him for hitting second and Hoss 6th…
True. But there’s very little about me that’s edgy.
Brava…HAHA…I love it.
I could go for another jinx blog!!!
A DOB jinx blog should be an annual event
February 26th, 20114:51 pm
By May he’ll have us slapping our knees
Funny thing is, Willie gave an interview just before he came into the game talking about how he didn’t want to try to hit home runs this year…said he was around Adam Dunn too much. The Mets announcers then rattled off about 8 times where Willie made a defensive play that beat the Mets over the past few years. Hats of to Willie from Cairo.
Something about Willie and Wes Helms…I HATE when those guys face us in a close and late.
I’ve been waiting for today’s game since October. Win, lose, or tie, I’m glad baseball’s back.
February 26th, 20114:52 pm
Or him if they continue to be this bad.
I’m definitely stoked about JJ’s performance and Freddy Freeman’s doubles. Braves play again tomorrow, don’t they?
If you haven’t already opined, I’ll be interested to read your take on R.E.M.’s forthcoming record.
“Some good takeaways today. Clearly you don’t manage these games to win…you manage these games to see who has got what. Agree with the Matt Young fans…he’s got something we need on this team.”
That Post was On Point, Probably the Best Post of the day
February 26th, 20114:54 pm
“I’m definitely stoked about JJ’s performance and Freddy Freeman’s doubles. Braves play again tomorrow, don’t they?”
You Damn Right Playa…Against the NY MESS
February 26th, 20114:55 pm
Willie Harris’s been a Braves killer wherever he’’s been since he left Atlanta.
“Ah, so you jinxed us, DOB. Hum… now the truth comes out.”
I told You guys that I didn’t do it…
February 26th, 20114:58 pm
Waste Helms, Willie Harris, Wainwright, Who are other former braves that kill us ?
February 26th, 20114:59 pm
The blog is so much better in the offseason without all the idiots.
February 26th, 20115:00 pm
Waste sounds nothing like Wes
February 26th, 20115:04 pm
SB, you’re right. I mean, Tomahawkin seems to be the one who mostly gets suckered into the political garbage.
Thanks Tomahawkin…and I’m not saying I wish we still had Willie or Wes…but I respect them, and they just seem to take it up a notch against their old teams.
February 26th, 20115:05 pm
Really? You’d bat the walker 6th and the hacker 2nd? The walker won’t drive in as many runs hitting 6th as the hacker would, and the hacker won’t score as many runs batting 2nd as the walker would
February 26th, 20115:07 pm
“Sometimes I wonder if David O’Brien knew just what he was creating, (or what he was getting himself into- smile) when he created this forum a few years back. But his best traits, beginning with generosity, are on display daily and it seems as if most participants attempt to emulate him in their own unique ways. And as for entertainment content, sometimes it even tops cable TV !”
Co-sign On That Post…I’m One of the Blogs OG’s and got on it because it was better than the “Braves Vent” which preceeded this, but I didn’t think it would blow up like it did, thank Chuck and Matt for that. They Always Give D.O.B. his Props
Yeah, I used to always read the Braves vents, T.
February 26th, 20115:10 pm
“Waste sounds nothing like Wes”
One of the Phillies Fans called him that on their forum when Wes Helms played for them in 2005 or 2006…Their Board is Funny as hell to read during games…
So the battle for the 4th/5th outfielder spots and the battle for back up infielders kicked off today. Freddi will have some tough choices.
Tomorrow I believe we’ll see both Beachy and Minor. Honestly, that is the contest I’ve been waiting all winter to see. Best of luck to both.
February 26th, 20115:11 pm
One of the Phillies Fans called him that on their forum when Wes Helms played for them in 2005 or 2006
They have a Tomahawkin on their blog too?
February 26th, 20115:13 pm
I am looking foward to Beachy vs Minor as well. My money is on Minor as I like his make-up and his mechanics. We need an Avery/Mercker kind of lefty in the rotation.
February 26th, 20115:14 pm
Yeah I started Reading the Braves Vent in 1998…That seems like ancient times now
February 26th, 20115:15 pm
Yep, I have been on the Philly.com/Phillies forum for almost 7 years…I get more 411 from their fans as opposed to wasting time watching BSPN
February 26th, 20115:16 pm
Tomahawkin, yeah it does. Used to read them on the actual paper instead of this online crap we have today.
February 26th, 20115:17 pm
The best things about Freddie Freeman’s doubles today:
1 to RF, 1 to LF and the 3rd almost to dead CF – all fields.
More impressed how in his first AB of a ST game, he remained attentive enough to take 3rd on the error.
February 26th, 20115:20 pm
Chipper Jones, Dan Uggla, Martin Prado will all be in lineup tomorrow for home opener vs. Mets. Chipper as DH, 2-3 at-bats.
February 26th, 20115:21 pm
DOB will it be on tv?
McFann Ô Ô
February 26th, 20115:22 pm
Aw, Tomahawkin…when have I ever uh…slapped you?
February 26th, 20115:23 pm
Tomas, no. The next televised Braves game is March 3 on ESPN.
Ah, poop…so BMac’s not gonna play tomorrow, eh? Figgers…gotta work at least Monday and Tuesday, possibly Wednesday…he’ll prob’ly do good then.
February 26th, 20115:30 pm
A tie is not bad for first Spring Traing game.Relax have some fun it’s called Spring Training. Smile……
February 26th, 20115:31 pm
In Spring Training you look for progress, and how a player does. You cna loose all your games, and still make it to The World Series. Progress is what we look for in a game…..
February 26th, 20115:32 pm
Funny stuff. I’ve watched Jason’s opening day homer over and over but today’s the first time I noticed that Mac actually told him to get out there and do the curtain call to acknowledge the fans.
February 26th, 20115:33 pm
No, I meant they have their own Tomahawkin making up irrational names for their players.
Anyway, you’d rather go to every team’s blogs for information as opposed to watching ESPN?
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
