Might be a worn out computer.
February 1st, 20117:31 pm
Guess it’s good I’m not home – only got one venting text…
It is a nasty virus, but I have neither the time or the money to get it fixed…UGH!
It is an old, worn out POS computer that I hate and would love nothing more then to throw it off a building into traffic and watch it get run over by a big rig, but, alas, I cannot do that because I would be unable to replace it.

Our internet’s been being a pain in the butt for the last week or so…
February 1st, 20117:33 pm
That’s because I just saw your text and i don’t feel like typing that much on my phone…
I wish it was just the internet…then I could yell at my POS internet provider
February 1st, 20117:35 pm
Oh, great…..we’re under a tornado watch! Ah, well…..guess i’d just as soon be here in the metal building than home. *sigh*
yup, that turning off problem is a bad thingy
cab, just don’t break your computer, it’s expensive as hell to replace.
I’m sorry—I’m not laughing at your problems, but only the wording of your vents…not too mention that’s just a funny spectacle: throwing your computer off a tall building and laughing in its screen as it got run over multiple times…
February 1st, 20117:36 pm
OK,guys, let’s take up a collection for cab a new computer. I’ll give $2
February 1st, 20117:37 pm
I nearly broke my foot kicking the thing…and if it doesn’t work, what difference would it make if I broke it?
aren’t you in Carrabelle Pat? Which metal building?
No internet, no e-mail, and it took me three attempts just to get the damn thing to shut off…
Those are classic symptoms of a nasty virus.
Or my grandmother trying to set up her computer.
February 1st, 20117:38 pm
Oh holy cr**, is it tornado season now??? Only thing I absolutely HATE about this time of year…oh my gosh…tornados are so friggin’ scary…almost as scary as fires…
Curse curse curse…Just Pat, where do you live again?
Been waiting to see ya! Guess what visited our feeder this weekend? A winter wren (first I’ve ever seen) AND a Lark Sparrow (also a first).
well you could clean out the virus gal
February 1st, 20117:39 pm
CB – He caught it, but he ain’t about to admit it. hee.
cab, well it semi works. It’s better to have a semi working computer than a computer that is completely dead. Hell, if you don’t break it completely you can possibly take it in to get repaired. Get its parts replaced if you need to.
February 1st, 20117:40 pm
jeffrey, don’t talk about old people like that or that hamburger will get you next time.
I hope the only copy of your needed software is not the one on your ‘puter
Cab, if it’s a virus you can remove the virus if you have an up to date anti virus.
Oh…it’s showing thunder and lightning for us from 10PM through 1AM…sometimes I take their winter absence for granted…
If by “semi works” you mean I can turn it on, then yes, it semi works. As long as I don’t have to open files or use the internet or check my mail or turn it off again
(oh, and I just got it completely cleaned and repaired like a month ago…)
February 1st, 20117:41 pm
I figured,Couch. That was funny.
I tried removing the virus- didn’t work, and now I can’t open it again
February 1st, 20117:42 pm
gotta stop browsing all them porn sites CAB
February 1st, 20117:43 pm
Yep! Didn’t realize I’d posted Carrabelle on here but that’s where I am. It’s our office building…ain’t gonna give you the street, though!
As nolie pointed out….am in Carrabelle, FL. You’ve probably never heard of it….few people have, thank goodness!
wipe the drive and reinstall
cab, then maybe y’all should be careful on the sites y’all open. Anyway, I would have broken it by now. Your hard drive could be screwed up. I had a problem with my computer and I ended up getting a new hard drive.
That’s why I have 2 computers-one for work, one for porn…
February 1st, 20117:44 pm
A Winter Wren! How fun! They’re smaller than Carolina Wrens…I’ve seen a couple, but they’re rare for us, too. Lark Sparrows are handsome little birds! I’ve never seen one of those…congrats!
Stay safe! Hope the tornados leave you (and everyone) alone!!
Hope you cann work something out with that danged thing…nothing’s quite as annoying as a work-machine that doesn’t work correctly…
February 1st, 20117:45 pm
smart thing Pat, I just might drive right up there and stalk you.
As for Carrabelle, I mentioned that I lived there once and you responded
I withdraw my $2.
February 1st, 20117:46 pm
OK, I thought you lived in FLA…No, I haven’t heard of that place, but I always like hearing of those places around the Country that no one’s ever heard of.
February 1st, 20117:47 pm
Using your other computer for hanging around with PL.
That story about Chipper is awesome. Guess we can pencil him into the 3 hole with that quote from Fredi.
February 1st, 20117:48 pm
Even after having an external backup hooked up to my computer, I spent about 2 hrs this morning copying things to disks. Never used to do that until I learned…..the hard way.
February 1st, 20117:49 pm
NEVER! I use the laptop for lounging on the couch and conversing with you fine blog-folk! I just wanted nolie to feel like he fit in
February 1st, 20117:50 pm
I don’t even know if I can do that now…I guess I will see tomorrow. (don’t feel like dealing with it anymore tonight)
February 1st, 20117:52 pm
Oh. PUHLEEZE! I’ve had a LOT of things to deal with but never a stalker! That would be fun in my old age!
Jeffrey, that is a good show right there.
February 1st, 20117:54 pm
Funny that I’ve actually had two seperate chances to use that hamburger dream today.
Just Pat,nolie would be the slowest stalker in history. Plus he would probably forget what he is supposed to do.
February 1st, 20117:55 pm
Just Pat Never used to do that until I learned…..the hard way.
OOOHH yes…my Brother’s going through some of that now. We’ve had our big computer crash twice, and have lost some stuff lost, but thankfully Dad’s worked with computers enough to know to get us an external thingy a few years ago. We haven’t lost any photos, I don’t think…ha, though we nearly did once when the external was acting weird…but uh, I think that was ’cause we unplugged it the wrong way a few too many times…
Thank you CAB. I am shy and sensitive and little courtesies like that help me develop a more positive self image.
Don’t blame you at all. You sound head and shoulders above me when it comes to computers and I get tired of things REAL quickly! Just tell hubby to take me to the Mac Guys in Tallahassee and get THEM to fix it!
February 1st, 20117:56 pm
Hamburger dream? Was that discussed on another page? I gotta look for this…
February 1st, 20117:58 pm
OK, found it…
I dreamed that a hamburger was eating me!
Sounds kinda scary…
The worst part for me is that I am going to have to take it to the computer guys myself, I am going to have to pay for it myself, and I am going to have to wait to be reimbursed by my company…

Freddie Freeman is No.1 on Laws list of impact prospects.
1. Freddie Freeman, 1B, Atlanta | Prospect Rank: 43
Right now, Freeman appears to be the only rookie position player in the majors who has a full-time job locked down, and his history of making contact and hitting for average with good doubles power in the minors bodes well for his transition to the majors. He’s just 21 and doesn’t walk a ton, so there’s some risk, but Atlanta made a wise move giving him the job and allocating the money they might have spent on a replacement elsewhere.
February 1st, 20118:04 pm
Just pat _
Yeah maybe we could get together for a beer sometime, though I’m a pretty good ways from you, over close to Destin. I remember, way back, when I used to come down from Ga and fish your waters. Drift the flats casting salty-dogs all day long. Fill the boat with speckled trout every time. Good times
February 1st, 20118:05 pm
*giggle* One of those mental pics of me still limping around from the broken hip and nolie SLOWLY stalking me!
February 1st, 20118:06 pm
Flats are right. you can walk out forever some places around there
February 1st, 20118:08 pm
Welllllll, trout season JUST ended today but glad you have good memories of the place. I never want to live anywhere else. Destin isn’t THAT far away…….halfway between would be what? Mexico Beach?
February 1st, 20118:09 pm
guess I’m gonna hafta turbo charge my chair b4 I start that kinda stuff
February 1st, 2011
My stepson just got one of the “fake anti-virus” virus it had the same symptoms(denial of service and refuse to shut down)…it was fake AVG it looked real, but it disabled the actual anti virus software ,I re-formated and reinstalled windows rather than removing it.
February 1st, 20118:11 pm
That’s what the problem is but it popped up all on it’s own. I tried running my own scan but it didn’t work…
We could get nolie to join us!!!!!
OK, guy-o-s, hubby got the heater hooked up in the Mustang and is ready to quit for today, so
…..we’re outta here. Y’all play nice! G’night!

Chipper is taking daily cortisone shots…….According to Todd Zeile MLB Network. Well that’s the only thing that could sound bad in his rehab so far
February 1st, 20118:14 pm
as upset as you seem to be it sounds like you don’t back up your important software and data?
Cab if you want to learn about Malware and virus removal, and possibly save yourself some money(and future headache) this computer forum has alot of helpful people and info.
February 1st, 20118:16 pm
I have an online data back up and the last time this happened I did copy the important stuff onto a flash drive, but I haven’t done it since so there is some stuff that I don’t have
February 1st, 20118:17 pm
Mexico Beach sounds about right.
I remember telling people, back home, when I first moved here that it was along way to a fast food joint. Now they are moving right along with the Walmart less than a mile from my house. I wonder if Mike Hucklabee and his wife will shop there after they finish building their 11,000 sq ft “little beach cottage” just down the beach road.
February 1st, 20118:18 pm
Thanks- I’ll make a note and take a look in the morning
February 1st, 20118:20 pm

Yeah man, I have always loved fishing the skinny waters. There was some great fishing in shore and off before everybody and their brother started coming here. Now….. lord, so many boats. People come from all over during cobia season. 40 footers with giant towers cruising along the beach site fishing for cobia for about five or six weeks. Only place in the world you will see that.
I’ve has some good times fishing you neck of the woods, too. Backwaters of Pine Island Sound, Reds and Snook, oh yeah. I caught a 40 inch snook on 6 lb test down there once. Caught the largest tarpon I’ve ever seen or heard of in one of those little passes, Redfish maybe, not the big pass.
February 1st, 20118:47 pm
I just came in and turned on the TV and there was Rulon Gardner 2000 USA Olympic Gold Medal winner on the Biggest Lose show on NBC.
If you don’t remember him, he upset some undefeated Russian to win the Grecco Roman wrestling. Yeah, the real kind.
I had heard he had lost his big toe to frostbite in a snowmobile accident and maybe that’s what got him started in his weight gain
Anyway, I’m pulling for him.
February 1st, 20118:49 pm
Chipper is taking daily cortisone shots
This would be wonderful if his primary motivation is to tear a tendon or another ligament. Seriously doubt this is good information.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
