Hmm…ya know, it’s funny…while I was looking at that photo gallery, I thought you might just happen to pop up…
January 26th, 201111:07 pm
McFann, you’re looking at my childhood there. Avery, Bream, Grissom, & Javy. Good ol’ days.
January 26th, 201111:09 pm
Damn, I missed ward’s service? It’s okay, his ghost is bound to make an appearance on the blog tonight.
January 26th, 201111:10 pm
Yeah…wow. Actually, I was a kid then, too, but I couldn’t care less about baseball at that point. Though I had fun whenever we went to games…
January 26th, 201111:19 pm
McFann, then you had Otis Nixon. You could tell that dude was on some sorts of drugs in his day.
January 26th, 201111:24 pm
You could still say something, Soph.
January 26th, 201111:25 pm
I was a kid then, too McF
oh then huh?
January 26th, 201111:26 pm
thats what i was thinking nolie
January 26th, 201111:27 pm
Earlier, when you said you were beginning to suspect me, nope. I would not even risk nick on a reprobate like Robert, much less ward.
If it’s the other, still nope.
Someone I never though of as a MIF option until tonight is Aaron Miles. Wouldn’t be a bad pickup. Veteran leadership w/ some post season experience.
January 26th, 201111:32 pm

Whats the feeling on Aaron Miles? Its been reported that several AL and NL teams are involved. Has a lot of experience at both MIF positions. Hits switch. No power but hits for a solid average.

January 26th, 201111:47 pm

January 26th, 201111:48 pm
Well, I have to find some way to keep myself entertained when i am here all alone…by myself…with no one to talk to except my blog folk
January 26th, 201111:49 pm
no surprise. i have little mobility and I work at my ‘puter with processes taking time in the background during which I make a pest out of myself
Yet she comments on the rare occasions when I pop up from work (where some of us do go)…
January 26th, 201111:50 pm
might be the last 23 we ever read from poor ol’ ward
I go to work everyday! It’s just that my office is 4 feet from the sofa…
January 26th, 201111:51 pm
I like the sound of my own voice.
January 26th, 201111:52 pm
you read them out loud as you type them Bat? That’s interesting.
January 26th, 201111:54 pm
No, my lips don’t move when I read either.
January 26th, 201111:55 pm
Well, I enjoy posting when not at work or I am just bored. Some days I post more than others. But what really amazes me is you had the time to count all the numbers.
January 26th, 201111:56 pm
I was typing metaphorically, tongue firmly in cheek.
McFann to answer your question, yes he was.
hey- do I get an award for being the top female?
January 26th, 201111:58 pm
I guess it would be hard to say it out loud with your tongue cemented to you cheek like that so often.
January 27th, 201112:00 am
gee nobody listened to that beautiful rendition of Danny Boy? Where is Tom when I need him?
January 27th, 201112:01 am
They really gotta figure out a new way to shave that is more efficient than a razor.
January 27th, 201112:02 am
That too, nolie.
Well you’re appreciated, cab. That’s not enough.
Some sort of laser that I can have at home and just remove the roots and not have to worry about shaving for a few months.
January 27th, 201112:03 am
I listened, nolie. Beautiful voices, beautiful women.
January 27th, 201112:04 am
Good night, bloggenites.

January 27th, 201112:07 am
good fellow Bat. Now I feel appreciated too
January 27th, 201112:08 am

I suppose that is acceptable

Even though Robert only posted 63 times, he somehow managed to get the point across that he hates Bobby, 1236 times.
That’s hard to do people.
But not quite as hard as myself only posting 1 time on a blog that is already 13 pages long.
January 27th, 201112:15 am
but that one post prolly took up several pages N8
January 27th, 201112:24 am
nolie – I just listened – it was good, but I’m afraid that there will never be a rendition of “Danny Boy” that will outdo my dear friend Cindy back in Richmond – she was the music minister at my church, and she and her husband (who was from Ireland – Cindy from New Jersey and William and Mary, not that I knew her there) owned an Irish Pub where they perform regularly…
January 27th, 201112:41 am
Good job .. Braveone. Very Interesting seeing blog activity in a list format. Imagine if you could combine .. and/or .. eliminated the multiple identity bloggers .. and those conversing with themselves .. I wonder what the list would look like? Guess that’s part of the beauty of it all? I would be interested in seeing you repost an updated list again .. whenever you could find the time to put it together. Great info.

Tonight there was finally a good game on usually lame CBS college sports channel — S.D. State at BYU. This Jimmer cat can flat-out ‘ball.

Feb. 26 will be a different story DOB. Good to lose one as you well know.
January 27th, 20111:14 am
Hello every one! Back from work, and very funny stuff on the blog about me….. It’s all cool.Hate to tell every one that Schafer will be our fourth out fielder. That what it looks like to me.I don’t think we should trade any one until the All Star break. Let’s not rush into any thing, because we have a lot of talent…..
January 27th, 20111:17 am
Some times trading your talent you end up getting less……
January 27th, 20111:19 am
I think we should get Vlad, and use him for the corners incase Prado or Heyward get hurt…..
January 27th, 20111:26 am
January 27th, 20111:30 am
It’s nice to know I have firends……..
January 27th, 20111:31 am

January 27th, 20111:38 am
Australian Open is pretty good. Clijsters is playing well against Zvonareva.
January 27th, 20111:46 am
DOB, I’ve been reading your blogs religiously for five years or so. I rarely post. When I do, it’s mostly during the season, and even then, I pick and choose. As a fellow sportswriter who has to deal with his own message board, I must say, DOB, I honestly don’t see how you deal with Robert and his incessant rambling. Thank God I have the ability to ban subscribers on my site. This guy is one of the more narcissistic, attention-seeking, sad, pathetic individuals I’ve ever come across.
Robert, dude, you have to chill. Take a deep breath, back away from the computer and go rent a movie or something. Even better, go find a lady friend to take the edge off. Do something. Anything. There has to be a better way in which to spend your time, instead of spewing your tired redundancies on this blog.
Rant over. Carry on. And, DOB, keep up the good work. We all appreciate it.
January 27th, 20111:50 am
Clijsters wins match 6/3, 6/3……..Quick one……
January 27th, 20111:54 am
I know I got beat up for defending Robert. You have to feel some what sorry for him. Yes he can be the most negative person on the blog, and yes I paid a price, but I did feel some sypmathy towards him,so can any one fault me for that……
January 27th, 20112:04 am
I also want to see how Matt Young does in Spring Training. A lot of people think Spring Training is a joke, but I like to see how the young players develope, and who can make the team…….I like Spring Training, and think more games should be shown on T.V.

January 27th, 20112:24 am
Nolie: I like them, because it’s when the game is fun for just a little bit, before the season starts. It’s how you get to know who’s going to be on your team….. You know the season is just around the corner……..baseball is going to be fun this year……
January 27th, 20112:36 am

January 27th, 20114:57 am
What happened to our Braves? It was back in the late 90’s when we counted on Maddox/Glavin/Schmultz/Rocker and it was EXCITING!!!! Now? It’s just like Corporate America….revolving door in-out all for the almighty undeserved dollar!!!
January 27th, 20115:02 am
Hey Braveone who’s counting, and better still, who’s got time……or the inclination?
January 27th, 20115:04 am
Besides your self of course. Say aren’t you new here?

January 27th, 20115:50 am
Thinking about the departed Charlie Louvin, have you heard the “Livin’, Lovin’, Losin:The Music Of The Louvins’” CD from about 1993?
This afternoon I was listening to the new Greg Allman CD and rolled right past the old Capricorn Records offices on Cotton Avenue in Macon. Though long, long defunct, the “Capricorn Records” letters still adorn the exterior wall and I believe Mercer University owns much of the property in that section of town.
January 27th, 20115:54 am
Not 1993. More like 2003 Carl Jackson spearheaded that project. Allison Krauss and James Taylor got a lot of play with their video of “How’s The World Treating You”.
January 27th, 20116:01 am
25 or 6 to 4. Now there was a band.

VJ just realized MIKE TOMLIN played with DARREN SHARPER. I knew I remembered that name from somewhere.
January 27th, 20117:48 am
jeffrey d,I was just surprised nolie beat you out. I would like to know how long it took BraveOne to compile that list. Geez
January 27th, 20118:10 am
I’m 47 years old. My grandfather was a Reds farmhand. I learned everything I know about baseball from talking to his headstone. But I abandoned the game I loved many decades ago. I was tired of visiting graves.
January 27th, 20118:22 am
cb – not that long I’m guessing. If you right click and select all then copy & paste into excel you can run subtotals by name and then format it so maybe 5 minutes…and that is assuming there isn’t an app for counting out there.
January 27th, 20118:25 am
The Jimmer sounds pretty cool right now, but I have a feeling ESPN will find a way to beat it into the ground and make me hate it by mid-February.
At this point folks, I don’t see the Braves signing a veteran 2B/SS backup. I just don’t see it. Other than maybe Felipe Lopez (and he’s a stretch) the guys available out there probably don’t provide that much more value than Diory Hernandez. Diory’s shown a few flashes of being able to handle major league pitching and he has a decent glove, so I say give him a shot. If he’s a complete flop, it shouldn’t hurt the team too bad and they can always give Pastornicky a quick call-up.
DOB, is Joe Thurston still under contract?
January 27th, 20118:36 am
Lemke – Thurston signed with the Marlins I believe
January 27th, 20118:39 am
January 27th, 20118:48 am
DOB: did you miss Terry Adams Rock and Roll Quartet last night at Smith’s? Absolutely unbelievable stuff. If you don’t have something to do tonight, do yourself a favor and catch the show in Athens tonight. You won’t be disappointed.
January 27th, 20118:51 am
This may sound a little out there, but I think one of the biggest keys to this season will be the middle relief. By that, I mean the middle inning eaters, not Venters and Kimbrel. If Proctor, Moylan, O’Flaherty, Sherrill and Linebrink do their jobs and get the outs they need to, then that basically means the starters only need to go 6 solid innings. That’s a big deal to me since our staff is bottom and top heavy. By that, I mean we have 2 guys over 35 and 3 guys under 25. I know Huddy has a fresh elbow and Lowe has a rubber arm, but to me it’s a win-win for everyone if this bullpen shortens games to 6 innings and keeps our starting pitchers fresh throughout the year. This ain’t the old Braves rotation with 4 guys capable of going 230+ innings, those guys were all in their prime (mid to late 20’s).

That’s quite an unfair showing…The blog is only two days old…some people have to work (um, more than 4 feet from their bed) and certainly don’t have time to attended any carnival’s, like to sleep, like Bobby Cox and TP and don’t believe that ward has passed…
There, I made the List!!!!
January 27th, 20119:06 am
So CB, get right on that
Oh nice showing by the Hokies the other night…BYU has The Jimmer, Tech has The Iman…
January 27th, 20119:19 am
here is Keith Law’s 2011 Espn Insider Organizational rankings you only get to see part of it thankfully the Braves are on the top three it was a nice little 3 sentences about the Braves and how the Vizcaino kid is gonna be good.
If you have insider post the Phillies one please. The Royals are number 1 with Tampa Bay at 2
Here it is:
3. Atlanta Braves
Those top three Latino arms keep marching to the big leagues, and the Braves will produce at least two other rookies who’ll spend all or most of 2011 in Atlanta in regular roles. They have a knack for getting good signing useful players off the waiver wire and scrap heap and getting good young talent back in deals, including Arodys Vizcaino as a sort of throw-in to the Javier Vazquez trade.
Marvin Freemans a Classy Guy
had respect for TP up until he pulled his stunt of walking off the playing field when the pitcher made his own call, and not TP’s..A whole career shot down on one stupid misfire.
January 27th, 20119:20 am
January 27th, 20119:26 am
including Arodys Vizcaino as a sort of throw-in to the Javier Vazquez trade
He is just getting “bad” press, especially from Jim Callis due to the injury last year. I bet once he is back on track, he will no longer be labeled a “throw-in”. Dude is young and needs development, but being our next stud down the road is a distinct possibility…
January 27th, 20119:28 am
The game in question was played on 5/26/93 against the Reds. Tim Belcher had hit Deion in the top of the seventh, and Marvin came in for Maddux in the bottom of the inning. He struck out Reggie Sanders, then TP walked off the field during Joe Oliver’s AB, and was replaced by Bill Pecota.
January 27th, 20119:32 am
I agreed with TP. A red should have been plunked. You’ve got to have your guy’s backs.
