The Phillies lineup doesn’t scare me against our rotation…But with that said Doc Halliday Owns us as well as King Cole Hamels

There is speculation that the phillies won’t be able to lock him up once the time comes. So if the Phillies don’t win a WS within the next 2 years then they are a bust…

Braveheart I nearly didn’t post it because Ruiz’s name was higher. That ticked me off.

 I did an eyeroll when I saw it.

(And you’re a bigger man than me—had I found that first, I probably wouldn’t have posted it because of Ruiz. ;) )

“And before any suggest Adrian Beltre, remember he’s only had 2 good seasons – in the final years of his 2 contracts.”

Id rather take Jose Reyes as our next SS rather than Adrian Beltre as our next 3b-man

JEEEEZ….I’ve missed you guys! Between the broken hip back in July and having to cut my hours down here in the office and now…..a NEW Mac for Christmas and having to spend two day getting used to it and transferring everything over, I’ve been WAY outta touch. Good to come back and see some of the “same old, same old”. :-)

The Braves don’t look so good with the homerism turned off.

B.S…….pitching is as good and/or better.
Freeman is a beast….will be better than 1st basewas in 2010 on both sides of the ball.
Hudson will probly be better than last yr. Lowe will win his usual 15+,JJJ will be healthy and produce like his 08,09 seasons. Minor was excellent until he tired late(he pitched way more innings than ever before) he will be fine.

Question@3rd base is not a question…Chipper/Prado have 3rd base covered.
LF is covered Schafer,Mather,Hinske or Young….this is the only real question(that will not be a question unless prado has to cover for chipper if/when he has to)

Venters,Moylan and easy” E” were all lights out last year and will be again.Kimbrell is RH version of Billy wagner @21yrs old,….

The issue I have about hitting Heyward 6th is, no team will pitch to him in big RBI situations because there is no proven hitter behind him

abwright

December 29th, 2010
8:31 pm

Unless the Phillies sustain a lot of injuries, I’m pretty sure that they’re going to win 90+ games this year. Maybe even 95+.

Braves are going to need to start out pretty strong. I don’t think they’re going to have all of April to figure out what they’ve got.

A “bad” scenario would be Chipper not quite ready to play by ST due to the ACL taking longer to come back. Braves wouldn’t be able to go to plan B until later in April. Then, if Chipper doesn’t have what it takes anymore and decides to retire by the end of May, Braves might be in a hole.

Big Sloppy
Princess Fielder
Turdowitzki
Plenty other nicknames for players I can’t think of…

Oh and “If I ruled The World” (or if I was manager) you would be hearing “Ho Sit Down” from my post in the dugout much like you can hear Bobby through the TV…

These thoughts are making me ponder on being a Little League Coach someday

“If I Ruled The World” is a great song BTW

If Hoss is Hitting like when he blew out the knee..start the season with him in the 3 hole gradually or if he gets hurt move J-Hey to the 3 hole and use a permanent pen.

If anyone else tied up $45 million in hasbeens like Lowe, Chipper, McLouth and Kawakami, their ass would have been grass. Thank GOD I’m in Atlanta where the media sleeps and doesn’t dish out criticism like in NYC, Boston or Philly.

T-Hawkin, I, for the most part, agree with that. However, there’s no history against most pitchers with Freeman. Based on Gonzo’s career and Freeman’s minor league stats, I’d want Freeman up ahead of Gonzo, especially against righties.

However, that’s now. There’s still a ways to go before the season gets underway. If Fredi is anything like Bobby, he’ll probably bat Freeman low in the order for a little while, anyway.

Coach K; now there’s a class act. How long until he catches Knight? Strangely enough, “Season On The Brink” made me a fan of Knight–as did the story from an English prof. at a small school in Kentucky. She told me of writing Knight to praise his stance on academics and his program in general. A couple of weeks later a two page, handwritten note from “The General” appeared in her box at the college. Looks like “Coach K” took the best of what he learned fro Knight as a teacher and left the “bullying” to his mentor.

Here is the Braves best line up.

Prado – ideal 2nd hitter but the best lead off man we have.
Chipper – intelligence, bat control and high OBP make him an ideal 2nd hitter.
Heyward – going to explode this year. Put him in the 3 hole.
Uggla – RH power bat.
McCann – best in the 5 spot.
McLouth – give a shot in the 6th spot
Gonzalez – could go Freeman here but I like going RH – LH – RH.
Freeman
Pitcher

I’m waiting by the phone for Freddie to call.
