Crime dog _
Nice day today, the tourist were out in force. The grocery store was more crowed than in the summer, since I’m not out of coffee I said THWAT.
December 29th, 20107:53 pm
The Phillies lineup doesn’t scare me against our rotation…But with that said Doc Halliday Owns us as well as King Cole Hamels
There is speculation that the phillies won’t be able to lock him up once the time comes. So if the Phillies don’t win a WS within the next 2 years then they are a bust…

Braveheart I nearly didn’t post it because Ruiz’s name was higher. That ticked me off.
I did an eyeroll when I saw it.
(And you’re a bigger man than me—had I found that first, I probably wouldn’t have posted it because of Ruiz. )
December 29th, 20107:56 pm
“And before any suggest Adrian Beltre, remember he’s only had 2 good seasons – in the final years of his 2 contracts.”
Id rather take Jose Reyes as our next SS rather than Adrian Beltre as our next 3b-man
December 29th, 20108:00 pm
No entrance music tonight, Tomahawkin?
December 29th, 20108:05 pm
JEEEEZ….I’ve missed you guys! Between the broken hip back in July and having to cut my hours down here in the office and now…..a NEW Mac for Christmas and having to spend two day getting used to it and transferring everything over, I’ve been WAY outta touch. Good to come back and see some of the “same old, same old”.
December 29th, 20108:07 pm
Check Page 8 around 4/5ths down the page, You know what happens when I get on here…You already know “Lights, Camera, Action, When I walk through the door…”
December 29th, 20108:08 pm
Slow Night On The Blog…
Where in tarnation is everyone at…? Did I miss Something?
December 29th, 20108:09 pm
Just Pat … same old, same old?
But…but…but…there’s a batting order now!
December 29th, 20108:10 pm
As I said…..same old, same old!
December 29th, 20108:11 pm
Damn, it really is a slow night.
December 29th, 20108:12 pm
Hmmmmm…..new Mac is certainly different (as is the wireless mouse and keyboard….TINY!) but I know I’m gonna love it as soon as I get used to it.
December 29th, 20108:14 pm
How bout dem Apples?
December 29th, 20108:15 pm
Trey … I guess we could start a Mac versus PC flame war if it would please you. That might liven things up.
December 29th, 20108:16 pm
And Keep bumping that ASAP when J-Hey Comes to bat, that song, especially that intro still goes Hard!
Nothing like hearing Crazy Train and then ASAP back to back in the 2-3 slots in the order…
Tomahawkin’, how about move the pitcher up one and McLouth down one!
December 29th, 20108:17 pm
abwright, maybe we could.
A bottle opener, yeah here’s one.
December 29th, 20108:18 pm
The Braves don’t look so good with the homerism turned off.
B.S…….pitching is as good and/or better.
Freeman is a beast….will be better than 1st basewas in 2010 on both sides of the ball.
Hudson will probly be better than last yr. Lowe will win his usual 15+,JJJ will be healthy and produce like his 08,09 seasons. Minor was excellent until he tired late(he pitched way more innings than ever before) he will be fine.
Question@3rd base is not a question…Chipper/Prado have 3rd base covered.
LF is covered Schafer,Mather,Hinske or Young….this is the only real question(that will not be a question unless prado has to cover for chipper if/when he has to)
Venters,Moylan and easy” E” were all lights out last year and will be again.Kimbrell is RH version of Billy wagner @21yrs old,….
December 29th, 20108:19 pm
I think Tomahawkin is on to something here. Maybe Fredi made out his line up based on the “coming up to bat” music.
December 29th, 20108:23 pm
Maybe Fredi made out his line up based on the “coming up to bat” music.
If Tomahawkin was manager….
“Tomahawkin’, how about move the pitcher up one and McLouth down one!”
I got money riding on Nate-Dawg This year…
I will be happy with .265-13-60 is that too much to ask…? Can’t be no worse than the Melk-Dud…
OK….we’re outta beer here at the office (had to resort to a…..UGGGGGGHHHHHH…55!) and it’s about time to head home and watch Criminal Minds ANYWAY. Sure hope it’s not a repeat again tonight. GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!
December 29th, 20108:24 pm
[Maybe Fredi made out his line up based on the “coming up to bat” music.]
“If Tomahawkin was manager….”
lol, only one could just imagine…?
December 29th, 20108:25 pm
I don’t have money on it, but I DO think Nate will do OK this year.
December 29th, 20108:26 pm
Tomahawkin, he can improve, however; I don’t have much faith.
December 29th, 20108:27 pm
Just Pat, at least someone has faith in him. I really don’t.
Truly….outta here…..y’all take care and play nice.
The players would have to moonwalk after accepting a walk
December 29th, 20108:28 pm
The PA announcer would have to use all of his nicknames
“Now coming up to bat for the Washington Nationals, Jayson WorthLESS”
December 29th, 20108:29 pm
Ok Everyone I need Suggestions for the titles/categories for the Blogger Awards 2010 that I will post prolly on Saturday?
Feel free to post some titles/categories
Thanks and Gracias!

The issue I have about hitting Heyward 6th is, no team will pitch to him in big RBI situations because there is no proven hitter behind him
Unless the Phillies sustain a lot of injuries, I’m pretty sure that they’re going to win 90+ games this year. Maybe even 95+.
Braves are going to need to start out pretty strong. I don’t think they’re going to have all of April to figure out what they’ve got.
A “bad” scenario would be Chipper not quite ready to play by ST due to the ACL taking longer to come back. Braves wouldn’t be able to go to plan B until later in April. Then, if Chipper doesn’t have what it takes anymore and decides to retire by the end of May, Braves might be in a hole.
December 29th, 20108:32 pm
Plenty other nicknames for players I can’t think of…
Oh and “If I ruled The World” (or if I was manager) you would be hearing “Ho Sit Down” from my post in the dugout much like you can hear Bobby through the TV…
These thoughts are making me ponder on being a Little League Coach someday
“If I Ruled The World” is a great song BTW

“The issue I have about hitting Heyward 6th is, no team will pitch to him in big RBI situations because there is no proven hitter behind him”
Co-Sign! We is it that its only the 2 of us who are Banking on that happening? Gonzo’s Aight but he isn’t going to hit 25 homers again…you can pencil in 11-13 homers for him
December 29th, 20108:35 pm
Tom O’s lineup:
December 29th, 20108:37 pm
If Mcnate is right
If Mcnate stuggles
December 29th, 20108:38 pm
One more Point about Nate-Dawg is that his S. Training performance will dictate weather he hits leadoff or 8th
December 29th, 20108:40 pm
If Nate Dawg and Hoss hit back to back 2-3 in the order then I will be on Violent Watch for the 1st month. Hoss is not a 3 hole hitter no more. period!
December 29th, 20108:41 pm
oops swap freeman and gonzo in my first lineup…to keep the l/r balance
December 29th, 20108:42 pm
Its Bad enough that I’m “Mr-In-Game-Overreactor” but my lineup suggestions turn into gold! Too bad Bobby last year was too reluctant to read/listen to them…
December 29th, 20108:43 pm
What does aqua mean? You’re getting a glass of water? You’re going for a swim? You’re taking a shower?
A pitcher of beer after some wine? That’s intense
December 29th, 20108:44 pm
If Hoss is Hitting like when he blew out the knee..start the season with him in the 3 hole gradually or if he gets hurt move J-Hey to the 3 hole and use a permanent pen.
Tom – to answer your question from late late last night, I’ve been staying up later than usual because I work in education and have last week, this week, and next Monday off.
So clearly, I’m using my time wisely.
December 29th, 20108:47 pm
anyone, where can i get a dvd of the 1995 world series?
December 29th, 20108:51 pm
It is VHS….
December 29th, 20108:52 pm
That, obviously, means that I’m drinking water while swimming in my shower. What do you expect from someone of my “intensity”?
Ha! Welcome to the club! At least I’m glad I wasn’t imagining things due to my “intenseness”.
December 29th, 20108:53 pm
Tom – last night you said dinner was ready at 2:00 a.m. – does that mean you had a pitcher after that?
December 29th, 20108:54 pm
*DISC 14 1993 Blue Jays, 1995 Braves (approx 132 min)
Uh, before, during and after if you must know, buddy.
December 29th, 20108:55 pm
I’m the luckiest GM in major league baseball.
If anyone else tied up $45 million in hasbeens like Lowe, Chipper, McLouth and Kawakami, their ass would have been grass. Thank GOD I’m in Atlanta where the media sleeps and doesn’t dish out criticism like in NYC, Boston or Philly.
December 29th, 20108:56 pm
Yeah, I still have my 1995 Braves win it all VHS tape. That tape is a throwback

Hi Just Pat! Bye Just Pat! Good to see you again!
I posted a lineup shortly after Uggla was signed. It was the same as yours. The only thing I did differently was reverse Gonzo and Freeman against righties.
December 29th, 20109:00 pm
Oh, and, Just Pat, I think you will love the Mac once you get used to it.
keylargo – Don’t quite know what crawled up your anal orifice, but Nate’s two (would be) HR’s were before September 13 anyway and would have done nothing whatsoever o change his final 32 at bats – in which he hit .
Loser? WTF, Dude? Is Nate your cousin or something? Sorry that the facts get in the way of your theory, but that’s exactly the way it happened. Go look it up if you don’t believe it.
December 29th, 20109:01 pm
In which he hit .190 (6-32).
December 29th, 20109:02 pm
Carroll – if you’re out there – I’m sure you’re appreciating Coach K’s #880 as much as I am…
December 29th, 20109:05 pm
I’m not a fan of the lefty-righty matchups…I play the cards more based on what a hitter has done in his career against a certain pitcher or streaks…
December 29th, 20109:07 pm
I stayed up half the night and into the wee hours, burned the midnight oil, and hung on until the drop edge of yonder–all while waiting to hear what “the best meal (you’ve) ever cooked” was. Obviously, it was so good you never returned to the blog to post.
Tom – bad enough you’re posting lineups – now, you’re proud of doing so…
December 29th, 20109:14 pm
T-Hawkin, I, for the most part, agree with that. However, there’s no history against most pitchers with Freeman. Based on Gonzo’s career and Freeman’s minor league stats, I’d want Freeman up ahead of Gonzo, especially against righties.
However, that’s now. There’s still a ways to go before the season gets underway. If Fredi is anything like Bobby, he’ll probably bat Freeman low in the order for a little while, anyway.
December 29th, 20109:17 pm
You Damn Skippy!
December 29th, 20109:18 pm
I’m sorry, I thought I signed off here when I was done cooking. That’s what happens to you with all those pitchers.
I had ham, very fresh ham. A friend of mine has a farm not very far from me. I think it’s the first time I ever had ham that had not been frozen first. Ham is good, but if all ham tasted like what I had last night, I’d never eat anything else.
December 29th, 20109:19 pm
Coach K; now there’s a class act. How long until he catches Knight? Strangely enough, “Season On The Brink” made me a fan of Knight–as did the story from an English prof. at a small school in Kentucky. She told me of writing Knight to praise his stance on academics and his program in general. A couple of weeks later a two page, handwritten note from “The General” appeared in her box at the college. Looks like “Coach K” took the best of what he learned fro Knight as a teacher and left the “bullying” to his mentor.
Put Your Money on Fab 5 Freddie having a rookie season similiar to Adam LaRoche’s 2004 rookie season…
I’d be happy with that…
The Hinske and Fab-5 Freddie Platoon at 1st will generate 105 Ribeyes, Bank On It!
December 29th, 20109:20 pm
Sorry, VJ. The one I mentioned was my first and last (I hope). I believe I made a big deal out of it when I did post it.
Mmmmmmm good !
Is Throwing a SO (Shout-Out) to Haggard!
December 29th, 20109:22 pm
Sorry, VJ. The one I mentioned was my first and last
So it was your best and worst.
Did you baste it and bake it?
December 29th, 20109:24 pm
Man, I stood in awe as you and the crew made your way in. It’s way, way too cold to be hanging up on Lanier. Where’s the winter retreat and how are you?
December 29th, 20109:26 pm
haggard – after the game ended, I noted that John Feinstein was sitting by Mickie Kryzewski – he of course is a Duke alum who wrote “Season on the Brink”…
jeffrey, there’s nothing wrong with your memory. Yeah, like Dickins said.
December 29th, 20109:28 pm
I think it’s Dickens
Slow simmering boil for an hour. Then, I basted it with maple syrup and pineapple juice and baked it for a half hour. It was like a piece of heaven.
December 29th, 20109:29 pm
Maybe. Ask VJ.
December 29th, 20109:30 pm
Marley was dead, to begin with…
December 29th, 20109:33 pm
Feinstein by Kryzewski; that’s great. And I’d forgotten about the Duke connection. A firend gave me Feinstein’s “Living On The Black” for Christmas–a book I’m surprised I hadn’t read–and it is one good read.
Give a hello to cab !
Hi, haggard! How goes it?
December 29th, 20109:34 pm
Feinstein by Kryzewski
Anybody subscribe to MAD?
December 29th, 20109:35 pm
I’m taking notes…No kidding. That does sound good. How thick was the cut?
Here is the Braves best line up.
Prado – ideal 2nd hitter but the best lead off man we have.
Chipper – intelligence, bat control and high OBP make him an ideal 2nd hitter.
Heyward – going to explode this year. Put him in the 3 hole.
Uggla – RH power bat.
McCann – best in the 5 spot.
McLouth – give a shot in the 6th spot
Gonzalez – could go Freeman here but I like going RH – LH – RH.
I’m waiting by the phone for Freddie to call.
December 29th, 20109:36 pm
Hi there! How are you?
Bravefaninok…i love u man…just ordered the 1995 world series VHS video…actually ordered two different VHS videos regarding that world series…now i gotta find a vhs player LOL…or i wonder if i could convert it to dvd format
December 29th, 20109:38 pm
I’m a fiend for “Spy vs. Spy”. Furman Bisher had a great line concerning Bill Elliott back in the 80’s; said he looked like Alred E. Neuman, talked like Gomer Pyle, and drove like Dukes Of Hazzard.
December 29th, 20109:39 pm
There are lots of places these days that can convert VHS to DVD…don’t know what you have available to you, but I’m sure there are a few…
December 29th, 20109:41 pm
mexican brave – Found a VCR for you
Make sure you’re wearing overalls with one strap undone and doing the macarena while you’re ordering.
December 29th, 20109:43 pm
i’m 26 but i feel like an 8-year old kid when i listen/see something related to braves baseball..hope this inner-braves kid in me never grows up
December 29th, 20109:44 pm
I’d say it weighed about 4lb, maybe a little more. It was about half of what you’d get in those frozen tins. I told my friend not to give me a piece too big. I’m by myself for the most part.
After eating it, I wanted to kick myself. All I had to do was freeze some of it. I’m and idiot.

Man, I stood in awe as you and the crew made your way in. It’s way, way too cold to be hanging up on Lanier. Where’s the winter retreat and how are you?”
T-Hawkin is in hibernation mode til opening day…I don’t go out nowhere near as much as I used to, Not to mention dating keeps me occupied on the weekends now for the most part. And Man I’m SOOO Ready for Memorial Day at Lake Lanier only 6 months away
December 29th, 20109:47 pm
I thought maybe your team had a chance Sunday, but it looks like the Rams’ rookie is for real.
Don’t think Favre got his proper comeuppance, eh?
December 29th, 2010
Glad to point you in the rite direction,I have ordered a couple of videos from Amazon, had real good luck so far.
December 29th, 20109:48 pm
Check this 1992 Braves video out, I just found it on youtube, Good Ish!
December 29th, 20109:49 pm
As for a VHS player, they were so abundant you can almost always find one in a pawn shop or yard sale!
December 29th, 20109:51 pm
O.K. what’s the name of thwe suburban Cafe in HOUSTON that was featured on Diners, Dives, and Drive-inns this season? The folks made all their own breads.
December 29th, 20109:52 pm
Remember when we were talking during the last series of the season at Turner and you were all tapped out and already looking toward Christmas? Man, I came across a ticket through a friend–the day before the final Marlins game–and I wondered if there was a way to leave it for you up there at your Lanier spot.
I know that doesn’t do a lot of good now, but I was thinking of you !
December 29th, 20109:54 pm
Hi, haggard! How’ve you been?
