I hear that, its why I do it now b/c I know its not something I can do forever.
I would love to ski either of those places but the problem for me is they take about the same time/money to get to as Colorado. So if the trip time is the same do I choose the rockies or the Northeast.

Hey fellow bloggers and Braves fans….
Just wanted to wish everyone the best and hope they are having a wonderful Christmas so far and are with the ones you want to be with (lord knows those family visits can be brutal).
Love coming on here and chatting with you guys and gals and wanted say Merry Christmas. My girlfriend and I have the turkey cooked…started the sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, vegies and having a glass of champagne.
I feel extremely fortunate.
PS and can’t wait for Braves baseball
December 25th, 20105:46 pm
Anyone know where I can find that funny Mets video about a guy outside the stadium acting as the GM.
December 25th, 20106:57 pm
The other day I tried to give an article from ESPN Insiders….thought I did but now looking back realized that you have to be an Insider to open the article. I guess I needed to copy and paste the article? I apologize for that. Looks like everyone got to read it anyway! I think it was a nice read and well said.
December 25th, 20107:01 pm
yeah SLG, a link to an insider article will leave a lot of denizens hanging. I usually just copy and paste it here.
December 25th, 20107:05 pm
Merry Christmas to one , and all. We have a wonderful white, and frosty Christmas in Montana, and enjoying the cozey, and peaceful Christmas with family , and friends……and my lovely wife. Talk tomorrow, and everybody have a wonderful Christmas……Peace…..It’s family time……. Have fun!!!!!
December 25th, 20107:06 pm
I honestly didn’t mean to do that…next time I will definitely copy and paste. Thanks.

Speed. Been drilling my grandson on speed. _ Nick
Nick has a grandson? Our Nick?
The Nick that regularly posts comments here……. has ……. a ……….. grandson.
Not some other Nick.
Must be another Nick, right?
I took that Nick, our Nick, to be 13 or 14 years old.
If you are another Nick please disregard this comment.
If you are Nick, The Nick, well …… it’s Christmas,…….. maybe you understand my incredulousness,anyway …..what I mean is….. obviously……. uh ………..damn………
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
December 25th, 20107:14 pm
our Nick, to be 13 or 14 years old.
just mentally Bat
December 25th, 20107:20 pm
If Pettite doesn’t resign with Yanks they are in big trouble. I know we need D-Lowe with his 200 innings, 15 wins 4 ERA etc. with Medlin out but we could ask for alot and sell at a peak getting someone like Gardner and a good prospect. Last year we would have to eat 15 mill or so to move him. Now we can move him without paying and receive some goods in return. We could use the 15 mill next year to go after a power hitting 3rd baseman and Gardner could take McOut’s spot when he leaves. Lowe is valuable to us for next year but I worry about the 15 mill the following year if he wears down this year. Could we role the dice and have Beachy and Minor at 4 and 5?? Could we call up Tehran mid season?? Will Kris come back for the stretch run??
December 25th, 20107:23 pm
lord, I guess so.
I hope your Christmas day was all you wanted it to be and more.
December 25th, 20107:33 pm
Bat, I thought I was the only one to notice that comment from Nick. I was just believing it was a different Nick.
December 25th, 20107:39 pm
It was a bit of OK, Bat. I hope yours was too
Since it’s Christmas I guess we even have to hope that Robert and Mitchell et al also had a good day.
Do we have to carry that as far as CC????
December 25th, 20107:40 pm
I don’t suppose that PL celebrates Christmas according to his posts, so I guess we can leave him off if we want to
Sounds like another Nick, Trey. Then again, one would think another Nick would lead with, ‘I’m not that Nick’.
December 25th, 20107:46 pm
It might be the same Nick, I think a lot of his posts are facetious button pushing. But I might be wrong. He might actually be and idiot. And this might – or might not — be the original. I’m gonna stop now, I am confusing myself even.
December 25th, 20107:48 pm
yeah, I am sooo tempted sometimes to lead of with : “I’m not THAT nolie”
December 25th, 20107:51 pm
Bat, that is true, or what I figure is that he could have read the blog for the first time.
December 25th, 20107:52 pm
I wouldn’t be surprised if another Nolie did comment. I have seen another Trey on Mark Bradley’s blog. Very, very rude fella’.
December 25th, 20107:56 pm
Spare me the “Merry Christmases” please.
The real problem…..can we help our bloggin’ gals lose summa dat ample a** before ST?
Twas the evening of Christmas, and all through the blog,
Not a creature was stirring, not even cab’s dog.
Then all of a sudden, from out of the blue,
There came a new comment, I wondered from who.
It wasn’t a good one, it seemed kind of sick,
I knew without looking, it must be troll Nick.
Carroll in her ‘kerchief, and Dave in his cap,
I too settled down, for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the blog, there rose such a clatter,
I sprang to refresh, to see what’s the matter.
The blog became busy, with posts of surprise,
I read what they said, not believing my eyes.
It was a comment, from Nick the blog’s child,
He talked of his grandson, man how freakin’ wild.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL ( yes, even to you, Nick)
December 25th, 20107:58 pm
It was good, nolie. Family, good food, covered all the current events, and laughed, a lot.
Sure even Robert and Mitchell. Though, rest assured, if I were to get Robert a gift for Christmas it would be some Bobby Cox memorabilia. Yeah, I know I’m an ass.
Would it be mean to wish PL a Merry Christmas, if so, well…….. ah
December 25th, 20107:59 pm
actually once in a great while there is a faux nolie making a comment, but that is a nephew and it’s usually not about baseball.
There was a No Lie around for a bit ridiculing me, but I’m pretty sure that was the same jerk that uses many names and with which I have a run in with every month or so.
Jealousy is such a pathetic emotion, ain’t it??
December 25th, 20108:00 pm
Christmas it would be some Bobby Cox memorabilia Bat
oh hell yes, me too.
December 25th, 20108:01 pm
Nolie, probably the same guy who takes Tomahawkin’s name and my name.
yeah could be Trey
December 25th, 20108:05 pm
Very nice, Tom O’, very nice.
You are sure right about my pup- when we got home she curled up in her bed and has barely moved since Merry Christmas! Hope you are prepared for the massive storm headed your way! (That goes for all of you in the north east- I hear it’s going to be a big one…stay safe!)
December 25th, 20108:06 pm
I hope this snow settles down by Tuesday when I gotta drive back to Virginia.
December 25th, 20108:10 pm
Bat, thankya, thankya very much.
cabravesfan, that storm is the tail end of what hit you. I’m still on the cut off. They are still predicting no snow, or flurries to a dusting. However, if it decides to move a tad to the west, could be up to a foot.
December 25th, 20108:11 pm
we are even getting some chilly weather down thsi far over the next few days
It might be the same Nick, I think a lot of his posts are facetious button pushing. _ nolie
That’s the way I read them, too. Still kind of fun to poke back at him some.
December 25th, 20108:12 pm
Tom where are you now? How can you be getting hit with the same storm as CAB??
December 25th, 20108:15 pm
nolie, I’m home (Albany). That storm tracked across the southern part of the country and then is headed up the Atlantic coast.
I just saw the blizzard warning that was issued for NYC and surrounding areas…I know you are a bit further north and west of that but wasn’t sure if you’d be getting any of it
December 25th, 20108:17 pm
Man, I can’t even complain that it’s cold here (which it is…for here…) after listening to all of you! It’s 56 degrees outside…
December 25th, 20108:21 pm
Not predicted as of yet. It’s hard, however, to get good local updates on a Saturday, much less a Christmas Saturday.
The storm weakened quite a bit, but now it’s getting strength again from the Atlantic. It’s going to turn into a classic “Nor’easter”. Just to the east of us is supposed to get a few inches, more depending on how far east you go. The east coast is supposed to get hammered.
It can still happen here.
December 25th, 20108:23 pm
The National Weather Service (according to Yahoo) says the city could get up to 15 inches on Sunday night, but it sounds like that is going to be the hardest hit area…
December 25th, 20108:29 pm
Yeah, that’s what the local meteorologists are saying too. Actually, parts of Long Island may get it even worse.
December 25th, 20108:36 pm
Didn’t I see a little more rain heading your way? What’s VJ up to?
McFann O O
December 25th, 20108:37 pm
Hope everyone’s havin’ a Merry Christmas!! We’ve got a White Christmas!!! First White Christmas I think I’ve ever seen!!
DOB Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas to all. Get those cookies and milk (or stronger beverage) out for Santa.
Merry Christmas, Chief!
December 25th, 20108:40 pm
It’s been chilly and a bit overcast today, but no rain so far…the worst of our storm hit this past tuesday…VJ’s preparing the eggnog (we were at my brother’s all day so we are just relaxing at the moment )
December 25th, 20108:41 pm
Merry Christmas, Tom!
We’ve got a White Christmas!!! First White Christmas I think I’ve ever seen!!
That makes sense, McFann. I’m 1,000 miles north and nothing white. You seem to be enjoying it, I’m glad.
December 25th, 20108:45 pm
Merry Chrismas, Jim.
Are you all set for tomorrow? Grrrrrrr!
December 25th, 20108:48 pm
Tom – no, not yet. We’ll be going out to play some tackle football on Sepulveda Blvd. tonight to get ready…
December 25th, 20108:51 pm
Tom O’Hawke I’m 1,000 miles north and nothing white.
Haha, yeah, that totally fits.
You seem to be enjoying it, I’m glad.
Thanks…yeah, it’s very pretty. Didn’t really start sticking until this afternoon…I think…my timing’s off from getting up at 10:30. Would have been fun to wake up to the snow, but this is still fun! Much thicker than I expected. Ha, hopefully it won’t turn to ice and cause problems for getting to Church tomorrow…
December 25th, 20108:54 pm
VJ, attaboy. I’m glad you’re taking this game seriously.
Oh, one piece of advice to you two. Walk Nala within the next 100 minutes. Or else, I predict, you will get wet.
December 25th, 20108:55 pm
I talked to a buddy of mine last night that has a long holiday trip planned right into the teeth of this storm. Virginia, I think, first for skying then NYC for several days. Said he has been planning the trip for awhile. He has been to NYC several times it seems. So he saw Gregg Allman was going to be playing on Long Island and thought ‘hey, it’s right there why not’, so he nabbed tickets for the whole family.
Then he said,’Bat, you know what, they call it Long Island for a reason. It’s a 150 miles freakin’ long, 80 miles, 2 hours on the subway each way’. He cracks me up, fun guy, good friend.
December 25th, 20109:06 pm
Tom – thanks for the tip. That would probably be the appropriate time anyway. We’ve already had an athletic day – cab beat her brother in a game of “pig” (on a four foot basket), to culminate an hour of shooting baskets, and lots of air hockey (I would have finished the day undefeated except for the game where I “inadvertently” forgot to post my winning goal against her nephew)…
December 25th, 20109:07 pm
If he takes the subway 80 miles out on the Island, he will be plowing up some new territory…
December 25th, 20109:08 pm
and they call it Nassau County cause it is so much like the Bahamas….
December 25th, 20109:09 pm
We’ve got blizzard warnings for tomorrow afternoon. Knew I’d have to pay the snow plow Dude sooner or later.
I don’t think just the subway is involved, I was laughing pretty hard.
December 25th, 20109:10 pm
shucks I’m still payin’ the lawn mower man
December 25th, 20109:12 pm
nolie – I bet you don’t have to have your lawn mowed twice a day or four times in two days like I have the driveway plowed at times. At $30 a pop, it can get pricey.
December 25th, 20109:13 pm
(I would have finished the day undefeated except for the game where I “inadvertently” forgot to post my winning goal against her nephew)…
A mistake in goal-addition? Yeah, I’m sure that happens to you all the time.
December 25th, 20109:14 pm
got me there Lew.
Merry Christmas buddy
December 25th, 20109:16 pm
Same to ya, nolie- Luckily last year it only had to be plowed four times all winter. Thank you global warming – you gave all the snow to Virginia.
December 25th, 20109:20 pm
Tom – I think the game where I beat him was the only one he lost – no one else was competitive enough to beat the 3 year old…
December 25th, 20109:22 pm
According this poll, Vermontians prefer a white Christmas
December 25th, 20109:23 pm
haha, this one’s funny…check out the only state that said they’d make the Naughty list
December 25th, 20109:28 pm
Vermont is a great state. You don’t need a concealed carry permit. All us gun nuts firearms enthusiasts can run around armed all the time for free
December 25th, 20109:35 pm
So why don’t you move north, nolie, you gun-toting fool firearms enthusiast?
December 25th, 20109:39 pm
cause Florida is almost a gun friendly and a whole lot warmer.
plus there is actually a liability to Vermont’s law. Since they don’t issue one other states can not reciprocate carry-wise. The other two states that do not require a permit will issue one if you wanna pay for it. That way the other 36+ states will reciprocate and you can carry concealed there on your state permit
December 25th, 20109:40 pm
Is it the correct term “Vermontians” or “Vermonsters”?
December 25th, 20109:41 pm
December 25th, 2010
They should be the only state to make the Honest list as well.
December 25th, 20109:42 pm
all the gun hating pinko leftist commie fags deluded liberal cowards
damn I caint find the politically correct phrase so substitute your own….
December 25th, 20109:43 pm
I guess I’m just glad that nobody is carrying a concealed weapon here in New York.
December 25th, 20109:44 pm
better be careful Juliet, they have contacts in th town where you live…..
only the very rich or politicians are doing it legally anyway Tom
December 25th, 20109:47 pm
ok enough, this might be construed as drifting over into political talk, or taken too seriously, or…Heaven forbid… both….
December 25th, 20109:50 pm
Unfortunately, nolie, I’m not to worried about getting shot from one of them.
Oh, BTW, I’m into the “nolie file” tonight. I’m bouncing back and forth from “Jam-On” of XM, and Pat Metheny.
December 25th, 20109:51 pm
Oh, before we complete drop the tabboo topics…
Jesus spent his life healing and loving people who either hated him or didn’t believe he was who he said he was. So I think Jesus would want us to wish PL a Merry Christmas too.
December 25th, 20109:52 pm
cool Tom, glad you are still enjoying the suggestions
December 25th, 20109:56 pm
So I think Jesus would want us to wish PL a Merry Christmas too. Juliet
on tyhe other hand PL might see it as a button pushing attack, and are we sure we are doing it for the right reasons or just outta meanness? Only the Shadow knows what evil lurks in the heart of man.
I like to think i know myself pretty well but I don’t trust my reasons for wishing him one. I am after all such a piece of work…
December 25th, 201010:04 pm
Eh, even when someone calls me “jeffrey deez nuts,” calls me an idiot, says I have ADD, etc…I still believe it’s my role to be an upright and loving model
Jesus would, jeffrey, but I won’t. He’d probably just give you a “N8″ on the insanity of Xmas.
I bet if you gave him a present, though, he’d open it.
You know that I’m going to have NoLie weather down here tomorrow? The wind is blowing 25 mph out of the NW and will bring that cold, ugly stuff here Sunday PM.
December 25th, 201010:05 pm
(don’t mean to imply that I’ve perfected that, btw)
December 25th, 201010:06 pm
Jesus love me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Red, Yellow, Black and White
Not to mention the one that brings the Blight
I think that last verse it the one that applies to PL.
Nolie’s got weather patterns named after him now
It’s Lewing here right now
December 25th, 201010:11 pm
northwest from you, yup that would be NoLie country
December 25th, 201010:13 pm
My moniker has not been Geographically accurate for 5+ years now. Definitely about a 100 miles SW.
December 25th, 201010:18 pm
My moniker has not been Geographically accurate for 5+ years now. Definitely about a 100 miles SW
You live in Cuba now?
December 25th, 201010:21 pm
keylargo…so you are damn near at the end of the road
December 25th, 201010:26 pm
Tom’s more accurate than the weather man…it’s raining. (he was only off by 15 minutes for those scoring at home…)
December 25th, 201010:27 pm
cabravesfan or Venice Jim
It has been 93 minutes since my very bold prediction. Is it raining yet?
So it’s the Keys
December 25th, 201010:29 pm
Whatdayamean, off? I said within 100 minutes. That’s 1hour/40minutes at the most. I made it in time. I posted that at 8:54.
December 25th, 201010:31 pm
Key Largo is “Keys” too.
December 25th, 201010:33 pm
Then it’s either Cuba, the Yucatan Peninsula, or an oil rig
and I thought only gunrunners and dope dealerssunset worshipers lived that far south
December 25th, 201010:36 pm
Sorry- I somehow shaved 6 minutes off my time estimate…but I guess technically you were right on…now make it stop!
December 25th, 201010:38 pm
Don’t rule out the possibility that keylargo is a dolphin. They’re pretty intelligent. Probably a lot more intelligent than at least half on here.
December 25th, 201010:40 pm
Why do you want it to stop? I gave you plenty of warning for Jim to walk Nala. You’re in for the evening, no?
But dolphins don’t have fingers, and that nose would push down several keys at once. So even if he was smarter than all of us, his posts would look like
WNEFI FWEIPO NPAIEWR AWFEPMIM
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
