Eric-

We get neither the Giants game (much to VJ’s disappointment- by the way this is one of maybe 3 Giants games all year we have not gotten, but we would have had it been played yesterday. Meanwhile I have seen one 49ers game on TV and that was only because it was on Monday night) or Sirius/XM radio (and we would both enjoy that one…)

Hi Carroll. Thanks for the news on Medlin. He’s a great kid and only wish him the best in his recovery and rehab. Several years ago, my decorated tree crashed and mutilated many of my treasured ornaments. Found the best tree stand ever after that disaster. This stand can handle ALL sizes of trees and is easy to handle. It is called “Grinnen’s Last Stand” and can be found at http://www.xmas911.com or 1-888-469-6271. I am not a paid spokesperson, just a very satisfied customer. This year’s tree is 14-16 feet tall and takes 3 of us to reach around it. It is straight and level. Check it out maybe for next years’ tree. Again, thanks for the blog and Merry Christmas!

I believe if you order now, you also will receive a complete set of DVDs of Favre’s retirements and un-retirements, and an official Brett Favre hand held mirror!

You get the feeling that the next time Favre officially retires, he’ll fake cry again, bottle his tears and sell those, too.

There are planets smaller than this man’s ego.

Seldom have we seen a star athlete’s legacy take such a beating in his last few seasons on the way out the door. The sooner he finally walks out that door, the better. _ Jeff Schultz

From ESPN story….The Phillies’ club policy typically precludes contracts of longer than three years for pitchers, and they held the line with Halladay to three years and $60 million, plus a $20 million vesting option for 2014. Given the length of Lee’s other offers, the Phillies might have to break with tradition and offer a deal of at least five years to bring him into the fold.

So how would you feel if you’re Halladay and they broke policy for Lee?

Danga

December 13th, 2010
10:27 pm

If the Braves don’t have the payroll to take on players from the Royals then we are having bigger financial problems than I realized. 13.5 mill per year ain’t bad for a pitcher of his ilk. I think he would fit in well here in Atlanta. I guarantee you the Braves have at least talked about how he would look in a Braves uni.

Rob from SC, not that I’ve heard of. that’s not really the Braves way anyway, to look at statistics like that. velocity maybe but not necessarily strikeouts. Might be that he’s learning to be more democratic and use fewer pitches to get outs. So it’s concerning you?
