We get neither the Giants game (much to VJ’s disappointment- by the way this is one of maybe 3 Giants games all year we have not gotten, but we would have had it been played yesterday. Meanwhile I have seen one 49ers game on TV and that was only because it was on Monday night) or Sirius/XM radio (and we would both enjoy that one…)
Eric In Albany N.Y.
That is EXACTLY what I’m doing.

December 13th, 20109:12 pm
My father came home from work and started raising hell, because by doing so, she was going to electrocute anyone reaching for a present. “That’s what the rotating color wheel is for!”
Thats perfect, thanks for sharing that story.
December 13th, 20109:13 pm
Eric, ha, that’s funny.
cabravesfan, sorry, that’s sad. (Didn’t I have a post like this yesterday?)
December 13th, 20109:14 pm
A post like what?
December 13th, 20109:16 pm
Ugh…one of the ESPN guys just called Terrell Suggs “T-Sizzle” I wish I was making that up…
December 13th, 20109:17 pm
Wow! An equipment malfunction. (Not to be confused with a wardrobe malfunction.)
cabravesfan, you know, one positive and one negative. (The Eagles – Cowboys result concerning you and Jim?)
December 13th, 20109:18 pm
get the Caravan up to Greensboro, NC. No reason to stop the northward march in Charlotte
December 13th, 20109:19 pm
You did, but I’m not sure which part of my post was positive
cabraves fan… great post about t sizzle!
December 13th, 20109:20 pm

December 13th, 20109:21 pm
cabravesfan, MY post, not yours. How much have you drank tonight?
stuck inside these 4 walls…
December 13th, 20109:23 pm
I’ve had nothing…out of wine and don’t feel like beer (was outside of a while this afternoon and I think I got a bit too much sun)- maybe that’s the problem because I still have no idea what you are referring to
December 13th, 20109:26 pm
Oh, you’re sober! There in lies the problem.
The problem will be rectified soon- VJ’s almost home
obla de obla dah!
December 13th, 20109:28 pm
Thanks for the answer Carroll. Hopefully they send out another good assortment of players this year.
December 13th, 20109:30 pm

December 13th, 20109:34 pm

“Day in the Life”
One of my favorite Beatle songs.
Hi Carroll. Thanks for the news on Medlin. He’s a great kid and only wish him the best in his recovery and rehab. Several years ago, my decorated tree crashed and mutilated many of my treasured ornaments. Found the best tree stand ever after that disaster. This stand can handle ALL sizes of trees and is easy to handle. It is called “Grinnen’s Last Stand” and can be found at http://www.xmas911.com or 1-888-469-6271. I am not a paid spokesperson, just a very satisfied customer. This year’s tree is 14-16 feet tall and takes 3 of us to reach around it. It is straight and level. Check it out maybe for next years’ tree. Again, thanks for the blog and Merry Christmas!
I know…but I’m me!
December 13th, 20109:38 pm
V all we are saying is give peace a chance!
December 13th, 20109:39 pm
That’s right, cabravesfan, and don’t stop being me… uh, you?
December 13th, 20109:40 pm
LET IT BE! LET BE!
im trying to be as annoying as possible tonight lol
C’mon Eric, Let it Be!
December 13th, 20109:41 pm
Phillies sign Cliff Lee for six years and 132 million: http://twitter.com/jaysonst
I believe if you order now, you also will receive a complete set of DVDs of Favre’s retirements and un-retirements, and an official Brett Favre hand held mirror!
You get the feeling that the next time Favre officially retires, he’ll fake cry again, bottle his tears and sell those, too.
There are planets smaller than this man’s ego.
Seldom have we seen a star athlete’s legacy take such a beating in his last few seasons on the way out the door. The sooner he finally walks out that door, the better. _ Jeff Schultz
I’m beginning to think Schultz does not care for Brett Favre.
ohhhh let it be ohhhh let it be!!!
December 13th, 20109:42 pm
Eric, will he finish with Yesterday?
December 13th, 20109:45 pm
Bat, I think Schultz’s blog name is, cabravesfan.
i dont know it s a long way off i think hes on till 11…
i bet you have no clue what i am resisting from typing tom!
December 13th, 20109:46 pm
I’m pretty sure one you is more than enough
December 13th, 20109:47 pm
Eric, I love riddles, give me a minute.
You know, you might be on to something there.
December 13th, 20109:49 pm
cabravesfan, are you a Sir Paul fan?
nananananananananananana hey jude!…
… too late tom haha
December 13th, 20109:50 pm
Hey Eric isn’t it nice we actually got the game in Albany?..at first we weren’t but I’m glad they were able to convince Fox/ESPN that as the training camp location for the Giants we should get it. And of course a 21-3 lead right now is always nice.
Hmm looks like the Vikings have to go to their 3rd string quarterback…
Eric, Long and Winding Road?
December 13th, 20109:51 pm
” There is a belief Lee is heading to the Phillies, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network (on Twitter).”
And just when I started to believe the gap between the Braves and Phillies was closing…..
December 13th, 20109:52 pm
Eric, Long and Winding Road?
to Penny Lane?
Kat this game aint even worth watching… im glad the Gmen are winning but i dont have a dog in the fight… suprised they let us watch it but if we couldnt watch it Fox loses moeny… how ya been KAT? been to colonie center lately?
I am a huge Beatles fan, and by extension, yes, I am a fan of Sir Paul
December 13th, 20109:53 pm
Tom… yet another great time to grab a hot dog and take a piss paul should be done with this trash in a matter of moments so hurry back!
December 13th, 20109:54 pm
are only tom and i listing to paul tonight?
Jack Curry of YES Network believes Cliff Lee is headed to the Phillies…….that is not good news.
December 13th, 20109:55 pm
I’ve been fine… work has been crazy as our new Governor will be taking over in a few so things have been kinda nuts.
Yes I was there this weekend and it was so busy I had to walk from one end to the other on the outside of the mall. I live right next to Crossgates, so that’s my normal mall of choice but Colonie has Barnes and Noble which was my holiday shopping destination.
December 13th, 20109:56 pm
I knew you liked them (Beatles), and I know your favorite Beatle’s song but I didn’t realize you were a huge fan.
December 13th, 20109:57 pm
Eric, he’s not on here tonight, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Lew was listening to him, also.
December 13th, 201010:00 pm
work has been busy for me too KAT as i work for our local utility who gives u lights… i like crossgates best myself! better parking and since colonie center has been redone its easier to shop at Xgates. i do most of my shopping online to beat the lines =) but a couple weeks ago there were some great looking gals there i must say… i prolly saw you ROFL!
December 13th, 201010:01 pm
Do you really know my favorite Beatles song?
December 13th, 201010:02 pm
Tom O… murph said he was going to listen too … doesnt look like many ppl are here tonight
Rob from SC
December 13th, 201010:04 pm
I asked in the previous blog, but I don’t know uf you saw it. Was there any concern over the drop in K rate for Hanson in the second half?
For sure, no. The one I picked for you is just because …
December 13th, 201010:06 pm
I’m not even sure which one is my favorite
…doesnt look like many ppl are here tonight
Eric, they’re all busy listening to Sir Paul.
As I type, here comes “Yesterday”.
heres your song tom!!!
December 13th, 201010:08 pm
man…. i sure hope Lee isnt heading to Philly….. I thought they had payroll issues?
i like scrambled eggs too!
December 13th, 201010:09 pm
RAISE THE PAYROLL
December 13th, 201010:10 pm
Well, “Yesterday” won’t be his last. How about “Imagine”?
December 13th, 201010:12 pm
great great great show by sir paul! what do u think tom?
December 13th, 201010:13 pm
Eat it Braves fans. Phillies just TRUMPED you. Lee is going to Philly. Phillies WILL repeat in 2011.
December 13th, 201010:14 pm
Eric, I loved it! I’ll probably listen to it again, if they repeat it.
December 13th, 201010:15 pm
i recorded it.. they are replaying it tonight at 12 and im sure this weekend howard 100 will replay it
McFann O O
•The Phillies are looking to unload Joe Blanton and the $17MM that remains on his contract through 2012, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com
NOOOOOO!!! I mean uh…Bad idea. Keep him, keep him—he’s not a bad pitcher…
December 13th, 201010:16 pm
Hopefully the Braves respond by locking up Uggla, thats the biggest thing we can expect to happen. If the Phillies land Lee that really give’s them the edge for sure. Halladay,Lee,Oswalt,Hamels damn….
believe it when i see it
December 13th, 201010:17 pm
If I am Frank Wren right now I am on the phone with Dayton Moore looking to aquire Greinke. Braves don’t stand a chance to win the division if Lee goes to the Phillies. Greinke, Hudson, Hanson, JJ and Lowe is better because 1-5 is stronger.
December 13th, 201010:18 pm
Hmmm…My mental picture of VJ and CAB together definitely just changed.
Eric you better START believing it. It’s a done deal!!!
December 13th, 201010:19 pm
Do you think we’ll ever be able to see this on TV?
December 13th, 201010:20 pm
Tom i doubt it… i doubt there were cameras and i doubt paul was into having it on tv
December 13th, 201010:21 pm
Eric ..Hah you just assume I’m good looking based on what my name? lol, thanks. I doubt I was there when you were a few weeks ago…recently I’ve just been working, working and more working with some sleep in there. Sucks about Diamond going to the the Twins.. he was a Binghamton University alumn and there was a UAlbany baseball player Brendan Rowland who signed w/ the Braves but I’m not sure his status with the team now..always nice to see some SUNY kids on the Braves.
December 13th, 201010:22 pm
Not sure how I missed Bat’s original comment about Jeff Schultz’s Brett Favre quotes (which were kinda awesome, by the way) or Tom’s response, but I only wish I had come up with that first
a person familiar with the Phillies deliberations said Philadelphia would not offer a deal that long and was unlikely to give even a six-year contract.
From the AP. Guess he would choose Philly for that lovely fan base.
December 13th, 201010:23 pm
oh come on KAT we all know youre HOT HOT HOT!!!
Hudson,Lowe,Hanson,Jurrjens,Minor/Beachy is still a top rotation, We have the better bullpen for sure over the Phillies. Our offense is improved. Phillies Offense has lost Werth a key Right handed bat in there heavy LH lineup. I’m still confident it will be a dog fight to the end with Philly.
Grienke aint happening, and yes we have plenty to trade for, just dont have the payroll to take on his salary. The Braves will not do anything dramatic if they add Lee.
December 13th, 201010:24 pm
Danga! Funny Post!!!
December 13th, 201010:25 pm
Who knows ya, baby?
From ESPN story….The Phillies’ club policy typically precludes contracts of longer than three years for pitchers, and they held the line with Halladay to three years and $60 million, plus a $20 million vesting option for 2014. Given the length of Lee’s other offers, the Phillies might have to break with tradition and offer a deal of at least five years to bring him into the fold.
So how would you feel if you’re Halladay and they broke policy for Lee?
December 13th, 201010:27 pm
If the Braves don’t have the payroll to take on players from the Royals then we are having bigger financial problems than I realized. 13.5 mill per year ain’t bad for a pitcher of his ilk. I think he would fit in well here in Atlanta. I guarantee you the Braves have at least talked about how he would look in a Braves uni.
December 13th, 201010:28 pm
Rob from SC, not that I’ve heard of. that’s not really the Braves way anyway, to look at statistics like that. velocity maybe but not necessarily strikeouts. Might be that he’s learning to be more democratic and use fewer pitches to get outs. So it’s concerning you?
… i doubt there were cameras
Eric, I’d say if they didn’t have any cameras, then Robert will win this year’s “Favorite Commenter” award.
December 13th, 201010:29 pm
Tell ‘Em Carroll!!!
THE BEST PART ABOUT THESE PEOPLE POSTING SUCH LIES IS THAT EVERYONE HERE IS ON THE INTERNET! THEY COULD LOOK ON MLBTRADERUMORS.COM OR GOOGLE OR FOXSPORTS OR PHILLIES.COM AND FIND OUT IN 2 SEC THAT THE DUDE WAS LYING!
December 13th, 201010:31 pm
If I was halladay I would be pretty damn excited because that would mean the team I am playing on will be pretty competitive for the next few years. As a Braves fan I am hoping that the Yanks step up their offer…
It’s not concerning me, I was just looking at his splits
December 13th, 201010:32 pm
Should I be pleased or scared by that?
Eric dude is lying about them signing them now. But MLB trade rumors is saying that:
“•The Yankees are now “extremely negative” about landing Lee and they believe he is leaning toward the Phillies’ offer, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (on Twitter).
•There is a belief Lee is heading to the Phillies, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network (on Twitter). Meanwhile, Jon Heyman of SI.com says the Phils “look like a very strong candidate to win Lee’s services” (Twitter link).”
December 13th, 201010:33 pm
Where the hell do the Phils come up w/ the money to even make a decent offer compared to what the Rangers and Yanks offered. I know hes not signed but DAMN!
December 13th, 201010:34 pm
Didn’t the Phillies say they traded Lee to the Mariners, last year, because of financial restraints?
What’d they do since then, hit on a couple of power balls?
December 13th, 201010:36 pm
If the Phillies land Lee, I can assure you guys we’ll be in 2nd place and looking at the Wild Card again. I love our rotation as it stands, but no rotation in baseball can stand against a rotation anchored by the 2 best starting pitchers in the game. This really sucks.
I would say exactly what braveslifer said — happy. His team and chance at World Series ring becomes that much better.
December 13th, 201010:37 pm
Definitely cautiously exhuberant.
