They’ve needed another year for about 4 years now…this was supposed to be that year. As for better draft picks, they will find some way to screw that up too…it’s one thing they are very good at
you hit the nail on the head, my friend. That deal falling through is WAAAY worse news for Gonzalez than it is for Red Sox. Sox will be fine… A-Gonz will be stuck in San Diego and then moved to a team he doesn’t want to play for in July or August.
The chargers throwbacks are the best uniforms in any sport…there have been several fan petitions over the years to get the team to switch back to them permanantly
what is there about Milledge’s 5 years of crap production and his attitude that would make anybody interested in him? Just another decent athlete who can’t learn to hit worth a damn just like a million others over the years, and a cancer on top of that.
Just saw that we are one of the teams calling on Grienke. Does that really make any sense without us moving some hefty contract or KC picking up a bulk of the contract for this year.
I don’t mind talking about snakes and such. My Brother picked up a copperhead head once when he was…13, I think. Ha, his Guardian Angel was with him, that’s for sure (I think he was wearing gloves when he did it…). It was pretty good sized, too, no matter what we told our Mother.
We recently discovered a smaller west coast chain called Garlic Jim’s…far and away better then any of the big national chains! (Although I will freely admit to liking Pizza Hut )
Wow. Werth to the Nationals would be a complete suprise. It would probably mean this will definitely be Willingham’s last year with the Nats with Bernadina ready and Harper just around the corner.

Has anyone else heard the Braves linked to Grienke this offseason before today? Just seems like an odd fit for us.
Not since maybe last year or before. It’s an odd fit only because we dont really need pitching. Wren says he always looking to make the club better. The money and who we would trade doesnt match up i dont think.
McFann, when I was living in Alpharetta, a buddy and I found a cottonmouth in his garage. His dad got it, and he ended up keeping it in a cage until the snake died, I believe.
I wouldnt mind to see the Braves call the Nats about Roger Bernadina. He plays great D and is very fast. He is also from Curacao, not that it has any meaning to trade for him.
Well, at least the Phillies won’t have Werth anymore, so they will be a little weaker, hopefully, and the Nationals a little stronger. I still don’t think the Nats will have enough for real competition next year.
Depends on what pitching they add. You got to figure they will settle for a cheaper 1B now and a rebound SP. I’m figuring them for Adam Laroche/Lyle Overbay and Brandon Webb.
MattE and Leslee Diaz Family Foundation-
I was talking about some of the teams that are looking at us with my soon to be 4 year old. He said his choice would be whatever team had a race like the home depot tool race. Oh to be 4 again, what a list of priorities.
Dont know how many of you guys have seen the reports of Werth’s contract with the -$ if Stan Kasten is still there I gotta believe they dont make this offer. 7 yeaRS AND $ 126 MILLION, $18 million a year for 7 freaking years for a guy who has in 8 major league seasons has 120 homers and 406 rbi’s and he;s not a career 280 hitter. AN this os for his age 32-38 years……good God almighty what where they thinking……and Matt Diaz can’t even get a contract for a couple million geez!
He’s said he’s being “open-minded” to anything that might help the team
Maybe he really is looking at Greinke then. Or heck, maybe he’s willing to go after A-Gon now. Highly unlikely, but ya never know. Frank surprises us quite a bit….
Nolie….That figure was only thrown out there by Boras though…..am I missing something— I just cannot beleive that for Werth, 7 years through his age 38 season….at 18 million a year. This is Barry Zito all over for an everyday player
I think Greinke has more upside then Jair. I dont think Jair will ever win a CY either. I think Hanson might have a litte more upside then both. I dont see Jair ever training like Doc or Lowe.
