McFann – ha! I liked that
December 5th, 20101:57 pm
jeffrey d battin leadoff
December 5th, 20101:59 pm
Martin Prado had a fluke season last year and will become KJ’s backup by July (Soph and RHR)
Ok, since you’re apparently having a bad day, I’ll let this one slide.
That may be dated since I have not been here much, not to mention my assuming you’re in a funk because of a girl. Sorry if I miss-read that.
McFann, or maybe just have Heyward hit behind Mac. Maybe Chipper, but I have a feeling CJ will be in his 3 spot again. I mean, until he gets hurt and then Heyward should claim that spot.
Lord have mercy that Adrian Gonzalez stuff will dominate the rest of the offseason. Hated more, Sox or Yanks? Man, I don’t know.
December 5th, 20102:04 pm
Bat – oh, that’d be it…been doing pretty good until today. Guess it’s because I’ve finally had a lot of down time to think/miss
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, so we got Uggla I see
ESPN pretty much made the Red Sox what they are now.
I think we may be suprised by the shape that Moylan shows up in this spring. Looks like hes already got on a workout program trying to cut down on size.
December 5th, 20102:05 pm
Soph – you didn’t like that one? I thought it was funny
December 5th, 20102:09 pm
And Reality just slapped me in the face, giggled, kicked me in the shins and ran away…
December 5th, 20102:10 pm
Maybe Tom will come back now…
December 5th, 20102:12 pm
Oh, I thought “reality” was allegory for Tom
December 5th, 20102:13 pm
Oh, I haven’t gone too far, cabravesfan. It’s just that you were scaring me.
That would be quite a feat, considering Tom is on the other side of the country
December 5th, 20102:14 pm
Welcome to the world of the devout 49ers fans…
December 5th, 20102:15 pm
jeffrey, I admit it made me smile. I’ll refrain from saying something mean in response since you’re blah today.
McFann’s been getting you good though. Oh, and thanks for all that spider talk yesterday to everyone else. I’m cleaning and ran into a few spiders and now I keep thinking they’re all poisonous and going to eat me alive.
Dear (insert name of 49ers Offensive Coordinator of the Week):
STOP THROWING THE BALL DEEP! IT ISN’T WORKING!
December 5th, 20102:17 pm
I think during 49ers games, it’s OK for you to have a beer at 11:00 am. Actually, I recommend it.
The whole “getting pitched around” thing is kinda a non-argument, at least in regards to batting order. (not who is in the lineup).
Assume the Braves have 5 “feared” hitters. Chipper, Heyward, Uggla, Mac, and Prado.
And 3 “other” who are not as good/feared for whatever reason A-Gon (look for K, low avg, etc), Freeman (rookie), McClouth (slump/K etc)
The order will likely have the top 5 hitters in the first 5 spots or in the first 6 if McClouth earns a spot in the top of the order.
So whoever it is who bats either 5 or 6, that is after the other 4 of the Braves’ better hitters will get “pitched around.”
I don’t really think it matters in the long run.
So was VJ
I only drink that early for USC…
December 5th, 20102:18 pm
Soph – Say it! I don’t care
yeah, but Tom is still there…at least as far as I know. For now
December 5th, 20102:19 pm
jeffrey d @ 2:17 –
Although hopefully VJ didn’t come all the way over there to kick you in the shins and giggle
December 5th, 20102:20 pm
Howdy folks! How’s everyone?
I’m heading out….Bat – I’m leaving you with making sarcastic/immature observations duty
December 5th, 20102:21 pm
December 4th, 2010
I praying Nate has a good year, but I just don’t see it happenig….Let’s keep our fingers crossed
That is the most conflicting thing I’ve ever heard, what’s gonna be?
December 5th, 20102:22 pm
Will do, jeffery and I hope you enjoy your afternoon.
December 5th, 20102:27 pm
Dear Troy Smith:
Good things happen when you throw the ball to your best receiver.
December 5th, 20102:28 pm
great, MLB is gonna give the red sox more time to get an extension done with gonzalez. really unfair….
December 5th, 20102:31 pm
Well, that should cheer you up a little, cabravesfan. At least bring you up to the level of a Texas death-row inmate.
Wow, those Packers throw backs…not especially attractive….
Just setting me up for that MOMENT…
December 5th, 20102:48 pm
Did my doom and gloom scare everyone away again? Sorry!
December 5th, 20102:51 pm
Hello Every One! Milledge would be cheap at 495,000 dollars, is 25 years old….
December 5th, 20102:53 pm
Did my doom and gloom scare everyone away again? Sorry!
Not me, cabravesfan. I just had to watch the game from under my bed.
Actually, it was all that discussion that we had about beer. I had to run down to the store during half time.
December 5th, 20102:54 pm
Did you at least get something good?
December 5th, 20102:55 pm
MLBTR saying the Gonzalez trade fell through.
Good lord. I just saw a commercial for a Double Bacon, Six Cheese Pizza.
Why not throw some lard on there too…
December 5th, 20102:57 pm
I just have my doubts about Nate. It’s like I want him to od well, but i just don’t see it. Why waste a couple of months to find out? Once again i’m being honest on how I feel. I’m having trouble with this one…..
Where did you see this glorious concoction of meaty goodness???
I need something to comfort the blow that I saw coming yet was still unprepared for…
December 5th, 20102:59 pm
Dear 49er defense:
IT’S CALLED TACKLING…YOU ALL SHOULD CONSIDER TRYING IT!
(oh, and that flicker of hope? crushed out by a combination of Aaron Rodgers, inept play calling and rooting for the 49ers…)
I really want Nate to do well. I just don’t know how to think about this one?
December 5th, 20103:00 pm
CAB, I think it was for Papa Johns.
Its terrible for anyone, but if it was in front of me, Id probably have a slice. Id have to go to the gym afterward or would feel guilty all day.
December 5th, 20103:01 pm
Bears , and the Lions is a good game, and my New York Giants are winning.
Dude, it’s pizza…it’s not supposed to be good for you! Too bad it’s Papa John’s- not my favorite
December 5th, 20103:02 pm
Did you at least get something good?
“Good” is in the belly of the beholder. So, yeah, I think so.
McFann O O
December 5th, 20103:03 pm
jeffrey d ha! I liked that
Always glad to help…
True…I’d totally bat Heyward 6th if he can’t bat 3rd, I think.
Soph McFann’s been getting you good though.
Oh yeah? Look who’s talking—like you never attack him.
Oh, and thanks for all that spider talk yesterday to everyone else. I’m cleaning and ran into a few spiders and now I keep thinking they’re all poisonous and going to eat me alive.
Heck, those doing the talking weren’t exactly enjoying it, either…
December 5th, 20103:05 pm
Are you going to tell me what it is or make me wonder?
December 5th, 20103:06 pm
I had high hopes on Nate last year, and now i’m very disappointed in him…..
December 5th, 20103:07 pm
I’ll talk about Nate no more…..
Make you wonder.
December 5th, 20103:08 pm
Now that’s just mean
December 5th, 20103:10 pm
It’s only a little store, cabravesfan. Not a big selection, but I didn’t want to miss any of the game (I don’t think).
LaBatt’s Blue Light
December 5th, 20103:11 pm
Mitchie-San, I’d probably eat half the pizza, myself.
Dude, it’s pizza…it’s not supposed to be good for you!– CAB
LOL… I know! But does it have to be THAT bad for you?
Maybe it would be smarter for the Braves to bat Nate 1st, cause if he bats 8th, he will not see a strike all season and he might break the single season record for K´s.
Thats deep and it would protect Nate a little bit.
Never had LaBatt’s…
December 5th, 20103:13 pm
Trey, ten years ago, Id eat the other half. Once you hit 30 you cant eat like that anymore. (well you can, but you might not like the results!)
December 5th, 20103:14 pm
biting pillow to keep from cursing…failing
December 5th, 20103:17 pm
December 5th, 20103:18 pm
Mitchie-san, yeah that is true. Right now, I am stuck at around 155 lbs and can’t gain much more. However, even if you are younger and have a good, high metabolism, you still shouldn’t eat like that because skinny folks can still get heart disease and other heart problems.
December 5th, 20103:21 pm
I checked the free agent market, and there is not that many ss out there for the infield. We are in trouble for a back up ss. Might have to trade for one or call one up from the minors.
Very true, Trey. Id love to eat like Tomahawkin, but Id weigh 250!
Andrew in PA
December 5th, 20103:25 pm
Ward, Pastornicky will make it up next year. He’ll backup SS/2B. Gonzo trade to Red Sox called off.
December 5th, 20103:26 pm
Why are people so convinced that Schafer is going to end up being a star? Because he had a good spring training? Heck, even Melky Cabrera looked like a decent ballplayer in ST.
I just don’t see it with Schafer and I honestly never did. If he doesn’t do something this year, that should be the end of him with the Braves.
DOB: Have you heard any thing on Wren looking for infield help? Like a ss for backing Gonazlez?
December 5th, 20103:31 pm
Mitchie-san, yeah I know I definitely eat a lot, as well. One thing I need to cut back on is my soda intake. All the acid that is in there can’t be good for the throat muscles or the esophagus.
What happens if Gonzalez gets hurt? Who plays short stop?
December 5th, 20103:33 pm
Wow, honestly I have not seen the hype into Schafer, but I may be wrong and I hope I am, but when I think of him I just think of someone who got hurt and will never completely come back. I have seen it in players before, and I just can’t help feeling that way about Schafer.
December 5th, 20103:34 pm
Hey TOM )’:
What’s you favs on the tunes lists I gave you? Did you get the last two I put up: Rainforest by Paul Hardcastle and Livin’ Large by Euge Groove?
December 5th, 20103:36 pm
Saw some SIERRA NEVADA the other day. Comes in flavors. Should I pull a few off the shelf and give it a try.
December 5th, 20103:38 pm
December 5th, 2010
One of those Canadian beers I told you about a few months back ca. along with KEITH’s and MOOSEHEAD.
December 5th, 20103:40 pm
Sierra Nevada in flavors? What flavors? The regular is outstanding…think it’s the Pale Ale…
I know about LaBatt’s, just never tried it
December 5th, 20103:43 pm
I added those 2 to my “richbrave folder”. If you saw my lengthy answer to your previous question (a few nights ago), you’d see where I was playing a lot more from each artist you gave me, other than just that song.
Unfortunately, time doesn’t always permit me being able to goof off and just listen to music. Damn employers!
From what I’ve listened to so far, I have “Crank it up” next to the names of Paul Hardcastle, Praful and Ryan Farish.
“Crank it up” is my highest rating. It’s like a “10″, on a scale of 1 to 10.
December 5th, 20103:44 pm
Oh yeah? Look who’s talking—like you never attack him.
True that, McFann. I’m not one to talk but I’m mean and you’re nice so it’s funnier when you do it. jeffrey’s usually asking for it though so it’s all good. He’ll get over it.
December 5th, 20103:45 pm
SIERRA NEVADA pale ale and two other varieties. Thought of you instantly. Think you mentioned that brand when we were kicking the cans around.
December 5th, 20103:49 pm
Yeah, I haven’t found anything else by PRAFUL yet that trips my trigger. YOU? HARDCASTLE probably will pan out a few. Had never heard of FARISH before and haven’t dived in on his tunes yet.
December 5th, 20103:50 pm
Ah, you’re not that mean…
you’re nice so it’s funnier when you do it.
(Insert halo above head)
Ha, I mean, thanks!
He’ll get over it.
I’m not so sure…
McFann, I was enjoying the spider talk! Hell, I was talking to a buddy of mine about venomous snakes! I read something about the cottonmouth being the most dangerous, but not the most venomous, and the black mamba.
I gave my lineup predictions for 2011 about two weeks ago … it’s now time for the starters; I’ll give your their W-L and ERA
Hudson – 16-6, 2.88
Lowe – 15-8, 3.48
Hanson – 17-6, 3.12
Jurrjens – 12-8, 3.62
Minor – 9-9, 4.15
Provided they all stay healthy.
December 5th, 20103:52 pm
I’ve never had any of the Sierra Nevada other then the Pale Ale, but I really like it
December 5th, 20103:54 pm
Huge blow to the Sox if the cant land AGon
December 5th, 20103:57 pm
With Ryan Farish, “Pacific Wind”, “Night Wind”, “Imaginary”, “If Only”, “Chasing The Sun”.
I’ve expanded your list starting from the top. I did listen to the songs you included, but Praful and Hardcastle were closer to the bottom of your list and I haven’t had time to get into them yet. Hardcastle I’ve heard of and hear him, from time to time, on satellite radio.
I left off, and am still on “Praful”, when I resume.
December 5th, 20103:58 pm
jeffrey’s usually asking for it though so it’s all good. He’ll get over it.
Hey, all my “asking for it” comments are all in good humor. You know I like Martin
December 5th, 20103:59 pm
richbrave, make that Ryan Farish that I left off with.
December 5th, 20104:03 pm
I’m a nice guy too….I’m (almost always) not mean to anybody unless they know I’m playing.
Anybody ever seen the Lion/Otter/Beaver/Golden Retriever animal personality test? I’m very Golden Retriever (nice/sensitive) and some Otter (laid back/fun loving) too. As a side note, if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you check it out. It’s simple and yet it really helps you understand how/why some people think.
December 5th, 20104:06 pm
Sox will probably just re-sign Beltre now that teh A-Gon deal is dead. Youkilis stays at 1B. Don’t see the deal falling through as that big of a blow to Sox. Heck, they could even put Youkilis at 3B and run Big Papi out at 1B if they don’t wanna pay Beltre. They’re fine any way you look at it.
I don’t know, jeffrey. You are mean to me and make me cry.
Let’s go Saints…I want to watch the Falcons game
December 5th, 20104:08 pm
Sorry Trey…I almost didn’t post that “I love animals…I like to watch spiders die” comment, but ultimately decided you’d think it was in good humor
December 5th, 20104:09 pm
Yea. When I read that I figured they would either look to sign Beltre which would make them real suitors for Crawford or possibly even look into Prince Fielder. This could hurt A-Gon in the long run if he runs off the top tier teams. The Yanks won’t have room for him, Boston won’t if they sign Beltre and Angels have Morales. It could hurt him in the long run.
December 5th, 20104:10 pm
Haha, yeah I know! You are the fo sho Good Humor Man.
This is the 49ers team I know and loathe so much! Last week had me worried they were becoming a good team again…
Time to down my bowl of sad…anyone know where I can get more sad? I’m running low these days
December 5th, 20104:11 pm
You are the fo sho Good Humor Man
December 5th, 20104:14 pm
Thanks a bunch, Carson Palmer. That was idiotic.
December 5th, 20104:15 pm
There is a song called Candy Man, but not the Good Humor Man. They should think about writing a song.
Your team needs another year. In the meantime, they’re better off losing. Get a better draft pick. Have a beer.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
