Very much congrats to the Giants and Renteria. I realize that the big hits by Renteria were huge (after all, the lack of big hits is what prevented the Braves from moving forward), but no Tim Lincecum and this Giants team would have….well….uh…. just thrown 3 other pitchers the Rangers couldn’t have hit either.

OK. Never mind. On 2nd thought….. Renteria is a fine choice for WS MVP.

Besides, with JJJ being hurt most of the year, that might give the blog some fuel into how horrible of a trade that was after all. :-)

I’ve had lime slices with Corona and Heineken, lemon slices with some of the darker ales. I’ll just apply the same principle.

Who gives a rat’s rectum about the injury status of a bum who will inevitably be disabled by a muscle injury while engaged in coitus?? He’s been disabled by a bed in a 5 Star Hotel and by the machinations of a batting cage.

Trivia question who has won more WorldChampionships the San Francisco Giants in the last 60 minutes or the Braves, Falcons, Hawks and Flames?thrashers COMBINED in thelast 45 years??

It’s a blanking tie!! Only Cleveland compares with Atlanta for athletic ineptitude.

Blue Moon on tap with an orange slice is fantastic. I have a 12 pack of bottles in my fridge. Not as good as on top. But good just the same. Until 6 months ago I wasn’t a fruit and beer mixing kind of person. But for whatever reason, the combo is just too good to pass up on.

Got a buddy who drinks Rolling Rock with a lime. I’ve never been a big fan of that.

Troy Glaus, Eric Hinske and Derrek Lee were among the 142 players who became free agents after last out of World Series. No surprises there. Players don’t file anymore, just become free agents and have five-day exclusive negotiating period with current team, down from old 15-day period. After five days, they can negotiate and sign with any team.

Congrats to the Giants!!!!!!! Eewwwwwwwwwwwww!!

Guess the Giants had a date with destiny! Just before the playoffs started rumors out west were that Cody Ross would be left off the roster, Jose Guillen was to be the RF. Then came the sore neck thing about Guillen, we know the real reason now due to media leaks.

When the playoffs started Edgar wasn’t going to be the starter at SS, it was suppose to be Uribe.

Tim Lincecum gets bombed in game 1, 4 ER in 5 innings but it doesn’t matter, Giants put up an 8 spot while he was giving up the 4.

Madison B came out of nowhere to impress.

I’m pretty sure that the Harvest Ale is what I have in my fridge. I guess I never thought that the stuff I had on tap at the wedding might have been a different brew. Perhaps that’s why it seemed so much better? Guess I wasn’t thinking that there was differenent brews. When I bought the 12-pack it was the only Blue Moon there. So I just assumed it was all that was available.

“… compared to lime and lemon slices, they are bigger and so much more juicier.” Tom O’Hawke

That’s why I think the orange slice works better for it on tap, where you’ve got a big glass to work with. I poured my bottle into a glass at home and threw an orange slice in, but yeah… trying to jam an orange slice into a bottle might be tough!

Gotta love this quote Rosenthal had from a scout in early September:

A scout who attended Tim Lincecum’s recent eight-inning, one-run start against the Rockies, says, “That’s the best I’ve seen him all year. His stuff is not back, but he’s getting people out. He was getting his curveball over. His command was better. But I’m not seeing more arm strength. It was about average, at times a click above. It will be an interesting question this winter: Where is he? What does he have left? I think he’ll end up in the bullpen.”

We recently had the first annual “Beer Fest” about a month ago. It was basically a sample-fest from the local distributors of some of their more exotic brews and some off the wall specialty items.

There was 32 booths, and you got a 4 oz. cup/sample from each booth. They gave you a punch card when you came in and you could either get 1 from each booth, or if you chose, had all 32 samples from the same booth, or any combination of your favorites.

I only did about 24 of them and by the end of the night was hovering around the Blue Moon booth and the Sam Adams Octoberfest.

Some of it was so thick, you had to chew it. I’m not a huge dark beer fan. Not a fan at all, actually. But it was pretty cool. Free food. Band playing and by the end of the night, those 4 oz samples were slightly bigger.

I wouldn’t have gone but a friend of ours bought the tickets for us. Now I can’t wait for next year.
