Nice to see you are no longer ignoring me…

That was never my intention, my dear, and after that threatening e-mail you sent me with all the “CAPS” (at first I thought willie g got hold of my e-mail address), I decided to make a bigger effort to say at least “hi” to you, whether you’re here or not. Did you see my “good morning” greeting to you the other night?

I believe I’d put my money on Lincecum with a 6-run lead.

A lot of writers are going to have fun analyzing why their predictions of Lee’s outing didn’t go so well… although, to be fair, he never allowed more than one run to score on the same play, which is something of a positive.

Bravesfaninok, Everyone out here is pulling for the Giants. They remind me a bit of the Braves, circa 1991-2005. Great pitching, good defense, sporadic (but often timely) hitting, a likeable manager, etc. The one advantage they have is their bullpen is better than the Braves’, except for a couple of Wohlers years and Smoltz tour out there. Meanwhile, it feels like ‘91 out here. That said, I’m still, and always will be, a Braves fan.

THREAT, is by far the wrong word. There are many words to describe your emotions at the time, but “threat, or threatening” wasn’t correct (and yes, you are a very nice person, a bery nice person in the far-south).

Actually, without trying to find the right adjective, it was as if the Braves just lost to the Dodgers, the 49ers went down, USC got beat in overtime, and someone just reminded you that the “Laker’s are the Champs”, all at the same time you were typing your e-mail to me. How would you describe that?

I was frightened. Very, very, bery frightened.

A reminder: The Braves played the Giants to four 1-run games in the division series.

Doesn’t mean anything. Every series is different. It is game one and Lee had an off night. Texas has more offense and they will rally back tomorrow.

The Braves played sub .500 ball in September and had to rely on the Pads and Giants beating each other up and win the last game of the season.

In 2011 the Rangers and Giants could be right back in the playoff mix. The Braves need a LF, CF, great production from their rookie 1B, no sophomore slump for Heyward, better performance from Gonzo or a replacement and Chipper has to play better than he did for 80% of his 2010 shortened season.

I was just having fun with you, and I used a random scenario. My Penn State team is in a rebuilding mode. Almost half of their roster is freshman players. Because of my lack of time, and chasing down places to buy in the Catskills’, and my team being out of the hunt for at least another year, I don’t know what’s going on with college football. When I hear a score involving USC, I may pay attention just because of you. But as far as following them, I have absolutely no idea what’s going on.

I was just having a little fun with you. When you started getting into specifics about whether or not USC lost in overtime or not, I thought, “uh-oh”.
