When my kids were little, I loved Sesame Street!
Wow, Lincecum coming out of the ‘pen…I love it. It’s like seeing Greg Maddux pitching in relief all over again
Not really. I’ve already used up all my emotions. Whatever happens…happens.
dicey move by bochy. we’ll see…
Wayne – no! It will be Wilson…
What’s wrong with Brian Wilson?
Frank from KS (now living in CO)

On your discussion with cabravesfan….I’d rather have Eck in his prime than Rivera.
Coach (2011 and Fredi G. a GO!)
Baseball’s definition of insanity is doing something different and expecting the same result.
Charlie Manuel allowed Ryan Madson to go two innings for the first time this season.
The results were predictable. 3-2 Giants.
It does my heart good to see Phillies fans sweating it out! Maybe they will throw up on each other…..
Trey - 6
The Phillies aren’t waving their towels. These guys are scared and I love it.
His beard’s too ugly…they don’t want that on the front of SF newspapers
October 23rd, 201011:04 pm
Wow, I saw Lincecum’s pulse beating in his neck. He is nervous.
RG – sorry to hear that. So, this person tattle-told on you? How dumb.
October 23rd, 201011:05 pm
RG–It really does not seem like a big deal at all. I hope it is a slap on the wrist. But I guess it is good to be in a place to know that you have no control over the outcome and be able to deal with whatever happens.
Jeez, these fans are ugly.
Oh, a tattle story?? I’m gonna have to go back and read that
They’d both be great, but I kinda hated the A’s more than I dislike the Yankees. But I have a lot of respect for Mo. I like him down the stretch.
McFann O O – 6
Yeah, that one’s great! One of Grandpa’s favorites…he loves that show.
Both! We even had a computer game, but it never really worked for some reason.
Yeah, the Brady Bunch was funny—we do like The Partridge Family better, though. Dang, that show is FUNNY! It was Mom’s favorite as a little girl (she likes Shirley Jones a lot), and we just started watching the DVDs this past January…very funny show.
But yeah, the Brady Bunch could be pretty funny, too. Alice was always my favorite from that one.
October 23rd, 201011:06 pm
What do you guys think of Lincecum pitching here?
Chop It Up All-Star
It does my heart good to see the Philly fans this nervous.
You’ve got a point there, although Lincecum’s hair is pretty freaky too…
October 23rd, 201011:07 pm
Time to face the beard!
Way to go, Fox
McFann, I used to love Andy Griffith.
October 23rd, 201011:08 pm
I think the Giants were better off with Linecum out there; the Giants closer is a bit erratic.
Even more insanity. Putting a starting pitcher in a relief role.
Should have typed this earlier…but, I didn’t and don’t like Lincecum here at all. Go with your normal pitchers. Bringing in the ace starter to pitch in relief hardly ever works. See Oswalt. See the Braves back in the day. Except the 2001 D-Backs, I don’t remember it working that well. I am too lazy to look it up…at least I think it went well in 2001.
jason–i was surprised to see him tonight. maybe tomorrow night. not surprised it didnt go well.
Although I don’t like Lincecum, I was looking forward to seeing him tonight.
October 23rd, 201011:09 pm
Well, she tattled before she knew it was me, but it wouldn’t have mattered. It’s funny because we both have the same advisor and he basically called her certifiably insane…a point which I definitely agree with.
I thought he may have been able to get it done.
hasn’t got a thing to do with baseball. the same action often brings different results and different actions often bring the same results. that definition applies to a physical universe with set patterns and laws, not baseball at all. I get tired of seeing it posted here when it is totally meaningless in a baseball context. just so somebody can try to make others think they are familiar with Einstein.
October 23rd, 201011:10 pm
That’s one ugly beard
Oops, completely wrong…just looked it up….neither the Unit nor Schill pitched in relief in that series.
I have a picture of Einstein in my office
October 23rd, 201011:11 pm
One of the bad things about going to a school like Berry is that something like this is the most excitement they get a lot of the time. It’s lame.
RG–Did you know she was insane before the prank?
Ninth inning coming up!
Ooh, the Phils are screwed.
victorino with the bonehead jump
There you go. Closer in, inning over.
Managers will never learn.
October 23rd, 201011:12 pm
or, the flying hawaiian with the chump jump.
Wayne – are you familiar with the Barenaked Ladies’ song, which contains the line “Lying in bed, just like Brian Wilson did?” – all I think of now, whenever this BW comes in –
and, oh yeah, great play!!!!!!
Are you a celebrity on campus right now, RG? Any idea what the “consequences” might be?
October 23rd, 2010
I have a picture of Einstein in my office.”
Good for you jeffrey d.
October 23rd, 201011:13 pm
RG–Yes, but the Berry campus is beautiful. Besides, I have been at schools where more exciting things happen; sometimes exciting is not necessarily good. A student where I taught last year was gunned down by some gangmembers who wanted to crash a party and the student asked them to leave.
The Phillies are toast. After Rivera, Wilson is the best closer in baseball.
Where’s Phillstein now??
One more inning to go folks….then it’s Rangers/Giants…(LOL)
Big Jake, it’s the same game or didn’t you know that already???????
October 23rd, 201011:14 pm
I don’t usually think bad things about people, so even though no one else seemed to like her I was always nice to her. It’s not like I did it to be mean, just funny. Looking back at it, I probaly should’ve known…
JasoninFL- Big Unit pitched in relief in Game 7–2001 World Series
October 23rd, 201011:15 pm
Good stuff @ 11:09.
As Skip always said, “a little insurance couldn’t hurt.”
Never listened to any of their stuff. I’ll youtube it…….
Right now listening to some Badfinger……….
October 23rd, 201011:16 pm
RG is a CYBER-BULLY!
RG–I know it was a joke. I hope that those making the decisions realize it. Nothing too bad should happen for a joke. Hopefully, any decision will be a minor discipline. And down the road, you will have a good story to tell at cocktail parties.
October 23rd, 201011:17 pm
I think bringing in Lincecum was brilliant, whether it worked or not.
October 23rd, 201011:18 pm
The black-and-white Andy Griffiths are some of the funniest shows on the planet! Barney Fife…
Time for Lidge to implode!
8-2 sounds good right now.
DS1–I agree. It’s playoff baseball–a different animal. You pull out all the stops!
playoffs, hopefully the G’s can hold the Phillies and I will be happy.
October 23rd, 201011:19 pm
Did The Reaper do something dumb??
McFann, Barney Fife and whomever else Don Knotts played was hilarious.
HAHA, Phillies fans are mad!
October 23rd, 201011:20 pm
Wayne – how much Badfinger is there to listen to? I’m coming up eith maybe 3 songs…
Well, that’s true.
October 23rd, 201011:21 pm
Yeah, Don Knotts was a funny guy…
If Brian Wilson hits tonight, it might be nice to see him plunked for all the punk stuff he tries to pull. But in this game situation it might not happen. The fact that closers done get to hit often often seems to give them a freedom for all their self aggrandizing histrionics on the mound.
I’m hoping I have to write her an apology. That could be entertaining. I’ve already been imagining the possibilities….
If Wilson gets a hit here….
Well, 3-2 isn’t too bad.
October 23rd, 201011:22 pm
calling the grand slam here.
McFann, that he was. He was one of a kind.
RG – your apology letter needs to be
I’m sorry you’re such a baby.
Then also inside the envelope, include a picture of you giving the finger
Walk the pitcher, not just a pitcher, but a closer.
Yea, they kinda crashed and burned (or hung themselves) before they could do much. 4 hits.
Come and Get It, No Matter What, Day after Day, Baby Blue.
October 23rd, 201011:23 pm
So much for the insurance idea.
Nova Scotia Steve
Thought I’d join the party with the Phillies clinging to life.
But as we’ve learned with this Philly team over the past few years…it ain’t over until it’s over.
October 23rd, 201011:24 pm
Yup, what jeffrey said at 11:22. Oh, and throw in a few and idiots for leaving fb open in a public office.
Forgot Baby Blue – all good songs…
Even better – just send the person a pacifier in the mail – anonymously of course.
My favorite call in baseball
“if that’s not Shaqueil Oneil in left that baby is out of here”………Bob Uecker
And it looks as if the team that we had by all rights beaten 3 games to one – turns out to have been good enough to beat the Phillies
And there you have it – if someone had been smart enough to not have Brooks Conrad in the game in a close and late situation and to not let a tired starter go too long – the Atlanta Braves would be the NL World Series team
Here we go!
O by the way, thanks Charlie! You screwed up.
Rangers and Giants in the 2010 WS, while the Stankee’s and Philthies stay home. I love it!!!!
Trey-6—-Yes, and me too. Crazy happy!
October 23rd, 201011:25 pm
RG–Maybe you will have to perform a one-person show of ‘The Princess Bride’ for the whole campus.
Bye bye Oklaflippinhoma…
it’s the same game or didn’t you know that already????? coach
you are the moron, baseball is one place it has absolutely no meaning.
Einstein postulated it in regards to such things as physics where there are immutable laws and the same action will in fact always produce the same result. In baseball the same action does not always produce the same result or once one series of games were played we would know the outcome of every future action and playing would be a futile.waste of time.
October 23rd, 201011:26 pm
I might just do that last part in person. I have 2 classes with her, after all. Actually, I’m surprised I haven’t tripped her or anything like that yet…
Yankess yesterday and if Phils lose today – all hell is going to break loose here soon.
And it’s going to be an enormous “Bowl of Sad” for ESPN (and Mixxo).
Dang it’s hard to pull for that ugly beard!!
Dang right! One out and two to go!
October 23rd, 201011:27 pm
VJ–Are they losing? I will have some disappointed students. Everyone was seeming awfully self-assured considering that they had not played a tough team yet.
Holy Cornelia! I love that idea.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
