Yes,Mitchell,He even listens to you. He is still shaking His head.
October 11th, 20107:22 pm
Crap, led off the page with a typo. GRIPES, not grips. I’m not Tomahawkin
MIBravesFan, I highly doubt there was another blogger on here called Trey. However, there could have been, but I don’t think so considering it happened right after I got into it with Coach who was calling Bobby overrated then tried to bash him, DOB and Conrad under the moniker I use.
Wayne in Utah
What if all the positive bloggers got on tonight, and just disregarded the dipsticks and actually enjoyed the game together????
Nah, never happen.
You deserve something. A Braves win, I don’t think so. Here’s hoping your wireless router goes out tonight………
The biggest reason why I want Diory in there is he might be our generation’s next Sandy Amoros or Al Gionfriddo…
Or even a Francisco Cabrera II for the new millenium!

iChop–hey, Chipper’s defense (and bat) are looking pretty damn good right now, wouldn’t you say?
Don’t know what you got till it’s gone…
Thanks for all of the quotes DOB.
Also, just want to say thank you for all you have done this year. You give us the best coverage in baseball, and I think I speak for everyone on this blog (even the negative ones). I spend an enormous amount of time reading just about everything you write, and I don’t know what I would do without all the info/entertainment you provide.
Keep at it, and I really hope that you stay on this beat for years to come, because we are lucky; no one does it better! Thanks man.
Make sure Peanut takes a long walk because you don’t want any interruptions.
DOB what are you turning into, Braves PR or Brooks Conrard Publicist? I don’t think I’ve ever read such an “agenda drive blog” from you before, as if to prove a point…Brooks Conrad is good man (I’m sure he is, was before any of this) and he’s so well liked, and look he’s helped the Braves with his bat throughout the season (which nobody here has said otherwise, guy’s turned himself into a pretty good PH).
Still doesn’t change the fact that he’s been a butcher in the field as of late and cost us the game (or Bobby Cox did by leaving him in there at 2B). Either way Bobby has the majority of the blame, but Conrad has the blame for failing to make a routine grounder into an out.
Instead of focusing on tonight’s game we get a BROOKS CONRAD themed blog today…I would have went with a question BOBBY COX blog (on why he over managed like crazy in last night’s game)…but it’s easier to just defend Conrad, after all he’s such a good guy.
Anyway, what’s in the past is in the past. He can say anything he wants using my name for all I care. It will be his IP address getting banned.
Ain’t that the truth?
October 11th, 20107:24 pm
Hope Troy plays on the grass tonight. Bunts are on the way……all f’n nite long!
At least Brooks is only number 6 on MLB Networks top 10 postseason errors.
“Get Out The WAYYY! (Boom) Pretty Boy Coming through! Me And My Crew! We Swaggin In The Room!”
Whats Up All?
Brooks’ college coach Pat Murphy Tweeted about Brooks @COACHMURPHY42
“Brooks conrad will respond. He has always beat the odds. “
I hope the first hit for the Braves is not the pitcher in the 6th inning. The errors were bad..but the offense needs to step up and get some baserunners.
Wayne, the Braves deserve to win for Cox tonight. Even though the chances are slim against the Phillies they still have a shot.
Coach (2011 or Bust)
And I’ll say it one more time and shut the hell up.
Blind luck defined: winning one WS in sixteen trips to the post season.
A trend: coming up short with the other fifteen teams.
Logic sucks doesn’t it?
October 11th, 20107:25 pm
Here’s hoping your wireless router goes out tonight………
Wayne that’s just low man  but I did get a smile out of reading it. Good stuff.
Well I’m going to log off for the game. Hope to be back later to enjoy happy post-game posts and quotes!
Tomahawkin, you ready for tonight’s game?
Ain’t nothin’ logical about baseball, my man.
San Diego Steve
October 11th, 20107:26 pm
I wanted to thank DOB now for having the best blog in MLB just in case this becomes the last game of the season. We could use your talents out west for either the OC Register or the San Diego Union Tribune if you ever get tired of humid summers or below freezing winter nights. Notice I intentionally excluded the LA Times. I wouldn’t even wish that on Mark Bradley after he rips UGA for the 15th time in one season.
Mitchell, first pitch not even thrown and you’re already losing it???
Correct me if I am wrong, but the last time I checked baseball was played by a team of 9 men. The game is to be won and/or lost by the efforts of those 9 men. Brooks Conrad is just one of those 9 men. We have rookies misplaying balls in the outfield, veterans trying to be heros and swinging for the seats, only to pop out, strike out or ground out into a double play. Last night’s game was not simply lost by 1 man. It was lost by a group of 9 men.
Better bring our hitting shoes tonight and blow this youngster away. GAME TIME. GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!! GO BRAVES, play ‘um one at a time.
Coach, fear not….the Cox era will soon be over…Braves will have a legit shot to compete in 2011.
Coach, you shut the hell up, until you are good enough to manage in the MLB.
iChop2249 (formerly wonder2249)
Like a good neighbor State Farm is there….with a Braves win.
October 11th, 20107:27 pm
Tomahawkin – ‘Bout TIME you showed up.
These lame mofos have been boring me to tears!!!!
Mixxo, you got Mitchell on here and you know he’s not boring.
Well here goes, good luck to us. Pray for DLowe and more runs than other guy. God doesn’t mind.
I’ve been off today after being at the game yesterday evening. It was heartbreaking, but we live to play another day. I’m sitting here watching one of my absolute forever favorite movies – and it’s baseball-related. For Love of the Game. Will flip to the game in a few, and hubby has agreed to let me have the TV tonight.
Regarding Brooks, I am ashamed to say that I was one who started booing at the clip of him hitting the grand slammy. I immediately realized that if it weren’t for Brooksie, we wouldn’t be in the playoffs at all. I hang my head in shame for booing him. I did post to his Facebook page today and tell him we still love him.
October 11th, 20107:28 pm
Troy Glaus is a gamer, I’d rather him sail throws to 1B in practice anyways. It doesn’t mean sh*t. I’m sure Brooks made all his throws during infield practice the day before
October 11th, 2010
DOB, your a little ***** for sticking up for him. Lets face it, he’s a journyman minor leaguer who should never even think about suiting up again. Brooks Conrad has cost this team more in this postsean run
Holy Jesus Trey, where did this explosion come from? This is out of the norm for you, or I at least thought it was. Cool down dude, it’s only baseball.
Someone tweeted “@atlbaseballtalk Couldn’t make this up: Conrad was behind the plate to catch first pitch from generic corporate guy – and missed it. A bad pitch, but still..”
Did you not read that I said I could be wrong. What ticked me off was the inferences the three of you made about me, because of your jealousy. I say that I think baseball players work harder than 90% of American’s, so I must not appreciate hard working people.
Give me a freakin break.
But I do have one other opinion. I don’t think any of the 3 of you know jack shyt about baseball.
Honey, bring me the bottle of scotch(this is going to be a long night)!
I wonder if Renteria is looking at our problems and just laughing his azz off?
We’ll shoot our whole wad tonight…..and if we win….we’ll be plum tuckered Wed. by the bay.
October 11th, 20107:29 pm
Lol. Just like hitting a homer in batting practice don’t mean jack
bravesgrl4lifeeeee, at least you went to the game last night. Even though the loss was disappointing I bet you still had a good time.
Damn, Mitchell, priorities please!!! If there is a God, I certainly hope He’s in Peru, making sure miners are removed safely from the Hell they’ve been forced to endure for the last 2 months.
I’ll settle for a pagan win tonight!!!
You put it best by simply saying – fans were booing the player, not the person. I felt sorry for him, but then again, I felt sorry for me (as a lifelong Braves fan) even more!
Jerry, as I explained and others have explained that post was not me.
@bravesgrlll….you are so right…and we all need to remember that if something doesn’t go the way we want it to reguarding Troy Glaus…again, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him back in May/June….GO BRAVES
I’ll settle for a pagan win tonight!!
That’s cool, we’ve got the cow for that.
Chop It Up All-Star
Is tonight Bobby’s last game or will he keep the lights on one more night?
October 11th, 20107:30 pm
If we want to win tonight game and go to SF then we need to forget about last night game
yeah mcIOUTH we all saw Ted at the game last night and any Braves fan with 1/4 of a brain wishes he still owned the Braves. But with the screwing he took from Time/Warner/AOL fiasco he can’t afford them anymore and that is straight from his mouth. He tried to buy them back and had to back away because of lack of finances.
I’m In The Minority again but I still want Hinske Starting and playing 3rd…The Giants will bunt at will on Glaus becaus they know of his bad knees, and Hinske could not do any worse there defensively than what we have seen…
October 11th, 20107:31 pm
Here we go…..the crowd is rocking….cool!
Jerry, you can tell it was not me as I actually know the difference between “your” and you’re”. I can actually spell Journeyman and post season run. Also, I end my sentence with periods.
Look at the sea of red!
Yes, because if Girardi or some other manager was leading this team, they would’ve gotten 10 more wins out of our stellar non-Heyward outfielders
They’ll do the same thing on Hinkse, Tomahawkin. At least you got the L/R matchup against Bumgarner with Glaus.
Good to see the home whites, instead of the red jerseys.
Go get’m Braves!
October 11th, 20107:32 pm
Ok, for what it’s worth, I had a vision of the Braves going to the WS. They beat the Yanks in 4 straight. Dont know how they made it there but, they did! I know all of you are going to laugh at me for posting this, but hey, it happened! I felt like I had to chance the ridicule and tell my vision. If it doesn’t happen, then you all can call me a senile old man. There now, I’ve told it and it has a chance of happening. GO BRAVES!!!!
Our season won’t end tonight
If at the end of the day, I know that I have brought a smile to but 1 person, then I will feel like it was a good day!
PS: And if I can tick off 3-4 idiots, that brings a smile to MY face. Double win!
October 11th, 20107:33 pm
Wow….seeing the stadium made me forget about last night……blow out tonight…
At least Lowe’s a big strikeout pitcher and doesn’t rely on ground balls/his infield to get outs
I’m all Jacked UP!!!
It’s game time.
DLowe is ready to pitch.
We’ve got a full nine innings to play.
It’s a full house.
And Bobby’s wearing sunglasses.
Hit it !
Should would have could have. GLAUS is in for his bat not his “d.” DIORY brings a question mark at the plate; 30 G, 4 E in LAWRENCEVILLE this season……..Fielding should be better than CONRAD at least.
Heck, I never even use semi colons.
Holy shiz I’m over seeing the highlights from yesterday’s game.
“I’m In The Minority again but I still want Hinske Starting and playing 3rd…The Giants will bunt at will on Glaus becaus they know of his bad knees, and Hinske could not do any worse there defensively than what we have seen…”
Hmm….bad knees or a beer gut?
Wayne I have never once in my life wanted to ba a baseball player. Liked playing but never wanted to be one. So yeah, I’m not jealous of any baseball player or any athlete for that matter.
btw, in the real world you use examples and supporting evidence to prove your point. That’s what I was doing.
DON’T worry about Glaus people…he will be just fine. Let’s just pray Cox doesn’t find a way to botcher this game…and hope for a no-hitter from Lowe. All the optmism that are bats will come alive, I’m not feeling it. We need OUTSTANDING PITCHIND and DEFENSE===yikes
October 11th, 20107:34 pm
Tomahawkin, nice. I am too.
Bout TIME you showed up.”
These lame mofos have been boring me to tears!!!!”
Damn, Its Like That.?
Okay, I watched the pre-game show.
Are you happy now people?
Trey, I did have a great time. The crowd was electric and fired up for the whole thing. It’s been a long, long time since there were that many tomahawks going at one time. And the chant was louder than I have ever heard it.
I was also glad to take part in the “Heyward’s better” chant every time Buster Poser came up to bat.
LPad–just ignore Wayne in Utah. He obviously is craving attention. This is my last reference to him
October 11th, 20107:35 pm
With all the pre-game stuff, I just saw the Hinske HR highlights again. I didn’t watch anything last night… didn’t want to.
I’m now convinced that it was bad karma coming back to bite us. He should have never circled halfway to 3B with his right arm in the air….. on an 8th inning go ahead HR. LOL!
Of course I’m kidding. But it seems king of silly now. No matter the emotion at the time.
PS – Wayne I’m not mad or pissed off. I know you’re not very bright and you want attention. I’ve been smacking you up and down this blog without even giving you my full attentilon.
In reference to Conrad, I’m glad that he is not playing tonight. Not because he has screwed up past the point of repair in this series, but because I’ve wanted Glaus in there. I said it before that Glaus was in the middle of our best output this season and we need him so bad now. Doesn’t mean that we’ll get it now, but we sure as hell won’t with him on the bench.
And DOB, thanks for posting that picture of a dejected Conrad. You guys need to look at that pic and put yourself in his shoes. If that were you, how would you feel knowing that you let an entire Braves Nation down? Personally, I could care less if the Braves win these next two games, but I hope they can only because I don’t want Conrad to carry that guilt with him. Guilt is a somb!tch to deal with.
maybe it just me but i would have rather have Hanson pitching tonight. And for game 5 have Lowe pitch
Let’s get this one! Go Braves!
October 11th, 20107:36 pm
Get Ready Y’all because we are going to see Cy Baumgardner Tonight!
But I do give props to Bobby Tonight for Finally Tinkering with the Lineup
McFann Ô Ô o
Ha, OK, always…
October 11th, 2010
Yeah, because they lost two games all year at home on Sunday wearing the red jerseys.
The white uniforms will make all the difference.
Moe Berg – You gotta go with the beer gut. At least you know they had some fun along the way.
Wait, the game’s starting now?? I thought I saw that it was bumped up to 8 something.
Team manager should be glad…he hasn’t had to do any freakin laundry
Game 1=gray jerseys
Game 3=red jerseys
Game 4=white jerseys
Glaus goes yard tonight.
Emmel sucks and should already have been fined, suspended, something. He has been awful this series and all towards the Braves. It is too bad really. We have a hard enough time overcoming our offensive and defensive deficiencies let alone a horrible, horrible umpire.
Let’s go Bravos!
bravesgrl4lifeeee, that is great! I love seeing the foam tomahawks going at it and I love seeing the stands full, not much the Phillies fans can say can they!
October 11th, 2010
Holy shiz I’m over seeing the highlights from yesterday’s game.
3 days rest right?
October 11th, 20107:37 pm
We need a quick and solid start from Lowe. One two three and let’s get the bats up there.
The fact that anybody showed up for this game tonight is amazing.
Crowd Is Jacked Up
I can’t believe its been damn near 10 years since we made the LCS
Holy crap you’re such a wet blanket, Mitchell
They moved the game time back from 8:37 to 7:37, jeffrey.
Crowd look good compared to yesterday?
October 11th, 20107:38 pm
nice to see the umpiring got better……*sigh
“Here we go…..the crowd is rocking….cool!”
The first Troy Glaus error will quiet them up a bit. On a serious note, it had to be done. Glaus might be worse defensively than Brooks. But we need Brooks next year on the bench. Glaus will be long gone.
Add to that, maybe Troy comes up with a big hit. Needed to be done.
Wow, that sinker looks sharp tonight (knock on wood).
Tomahawkin, it’s great seeing the stands full.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
