Standing-room only tickets available for Phillies series

The Braves are selling standing-room only tickets for all three weekend games against the Phillies, the final three regular season games of manager Bobby Cox’s career.

Only a few hundred reserved seats remain for Friday night’s game. All the reserved tickets have been sold out for Saturday and Sunday’s games, including the Bobby Cox tribute game Saturday, first pitch at 4:10 p.m.

Standing-room only tickets are available for $20 apiece at braves.com, the Turner Field Ticket Office, the Braves Clubhouse Store at CNN Center, any Publix ticket center or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The Braves are asking fans to be in their seats no later than 3 p.m. for the Bobby Cox tribute on Saturday. They can pre-purchase parking at www.braves.com/parking or take MARTA.

Where do you get to stand when you buy standing room only? Anybody know? Not that I really care, I would be happy to stand in the bathroom for bobby’s ceremony if necessary!

Parking is gonna be a pain in the butt this weekend. Oh well…that’s a good problem to have.

@James- The standing areas are located above the Chophouse in right-center and above the retired numbers in Left Field. However, I’d recommend going to the Terrace Level concourse between 1st and 3rd. You can stand there as well.

They will draw close to 110,000 this weekend. Very nice! Lets hope for the same in the playoffs.

Plenty of good seats available on Stub hub. Bought 4 this morning for Sunday’s game — Upper deck behind home plate. I will have my THANKS BOBBY! shirt on proud display.

this is the best thing for the Braves. It is about time people show up for the games even though it may be to see the Phillies play. People of Atlanta need to be there more often. Best Home Record in the Majors.

Will be there Sunday! Which former Braves will be there? The only thing people bring up about Bobby is the 1 World Series win. I’ll take that (ask the Cubs) and all the other awesome baseball presented to us for that criticism. Anybody that touches his personal life can look in the mirror. THANKS BOBBY!

Steve…I would estimate more along the lines of 160,000. The stadium seats about 51,000…and with standing room, attendance figures have reached as high as 54,000-plus.

What? People will actually be at an Atlanta Braves home game?? Whoo-hooo, break out the rally towels. Never too late to jump on the bandwagon.

Braves are in the playoffs if they Win 2 games no matter what happens! If they win two, then SD would have to sweep the giants to reach 92 wins. In doing so, the best the giants could do is 91 wins, thus the WC going to Atlanta….Lets get this done on Bobby Cox Day boys!

flippstr,

Braves always draw well on the weekend games when the regional fans can get to the games. It’s just when the Braves have to rely on fans in Atlanta that attendance goes down.

Honey, I’ll be there on Saturday. And screaming my head off. The Braves could win the Wild Card berth with a win on Saturday. I’ll also be hauling my camcorder down there to record the pre-game ceremony for Bobby. I hope I can get down there for the Division Series. The Braves, provided they clinch the Wild Card, should be able to advance to the LCS. Their likely opponent is the Reds (since they can’t play the Phillies in the opening round because of being in the same division — thank goodness!). The Braves won the season series, and should win the division series. I didn’t say “will”. I said “should”. I don’t think they can get by the Phillies (who’ll likely win their division series), but hey. Anything can happen in the postseason, right?

GO BRAVES!!!

DOB: Great addition to the tribute series, once again!

I’m coming in from PA with my family for the weekend. Braves Saturday, Falcons Sunday. I’ve been a HUGE fan since 1968. I couldn’t imagine missing Bobby’s Tribute. This will be my 4-year-old daughter’s first Braves’ game in Atlanta. We’ve been to Spring Training several times.
Thanks for everything, Bobby! Go Braves!!

Standing room only, I LOVE THIS! Let’s send Bobby out with a playoff run. Spending the weekend at The Ted, and cannot wait. Chanting and chopping as loud as I can. “Gooooo, Braves!”

Don’t assume that these games are “sold out” in terms of fans. As soon as Bobby announced his retirement, all the ticket brokers in the country snapped up every ticket they could for these games. Go look at Stub Hub and GreatSeats.com and you’ll see LOTS of tickets for sale. Unless there is a lot of second-hand activity in the next few days, there will be plenty of open seats at these games.

I can’t believe there is only 3 games left until Bobby is gone. So thankful I got to grow up a fan of one of the best managers and organizations in baseball’s long history. Let’s send him out proper and take that WS!

And @ Joe I counted on Stubhub and minus the standing room there are only about 300-350 tickets left for actual seats. So I would fully anticipate a complete sellout. It is going to be insane. Can’t wait

God Bless you Bobby! In my opinion, I saw you field four teams that were capable of winning a world series. This is based on my knowledge of the game (over 20 years worth) and what I know a talented team is capable of. Another words, with any luck at all you could have had four world series banners up instead of only one. Its unfortunate but maybe this years team can get you your second world series title with the Braves. Ok the four years teams I thought could have done it were ‘91, ‘95 (won the world series), ‘96 and 2010 (this year). I believe that if Martin Prado doesnt go down with an injury, this years team would have won the whole thing. The Braves were good enough this year to compete with anybody. Its still possible to get it done with year, but without Chipper and Prado you’re losing probably too much talent to pull it off. We might get lucky and overachieve and still get it done because the replacements for those guys are capable so its still possible. Bobby, thanks for the memories and good luck on that baseball diamond in the sky.

turner field is expecting about 160,000 fans for this weekend. all three games are sold out for over 50,000 per game already. already surppassing 2.3 million fans earlier this week. braves are getting close to the 2.5 million mark which would be tremendous for the braves. and that’s not including the playoff game(s) if the braves get there.

Going to be a great night at The Ted tonight. Great weather and a full stadium. Can’t wait to see a big Braves win and a Padres loss tonight so we clinch the WC tonight and don’t have to worry about the Sat. & Sunday games and let Bobby soak in all the glory.
