Mitchell,

I love your excitement, even if it’s sarcasm.

Jake W,
That’s why I would have hoped you would recognize I’m not one of those people. But yeah, at least you thought it might be a joke — which, of course, it was. Conrad is the reason this team is where it is.

Like I did with Nick, I’ve come to the conclusion that Mitchell is just f’n with all of us. The way he comes in and rains on anything positive the Braves have done or might be about to do …. bringing up 1996 or 2006 or whatever … I’m fairly convinced now he’s a Phillies fan or a Mets fan. Because he seemingly gets NO JOY from watching the Braves win.

McCann, Freeman, Heyward and McLouth, all regulars and all left handed.

That’s half the line up. Dan Uggla’s big right handed bat would be absolutely perfect in the four hole.

Bobby’s Cox, I guess the last four years were baby steps to a possible wild card spot.

We haven’t won anything yet folks.

Notice how we score four runs and win easily?

I still don’t see anything to get too excited about.

We score three or four runs and the game is over but we can hardly even do that unless we’re at home and somebody steps up with a big hit.

This team, the way they’re playing, their inability to execute the most basic fundamentals of baseball, is not going to beat the Giants.

Hell, they lost four of six to the Nationals. They probably couldn’t even beat the Padres.

Coach – I agree we need a power hitting LF, but Uggla is not the answer, for a number of reasons. As RemoW said, he sometimes has issues defensively playing 2nd base. That said, he wants to play 2nd base and has made it clear he does not want to move. Further, last I heard the Marlins were actually in negotiations to sign him to an extension, which one would imagine they’re under some pressure to do given the info that has come out about how they’ve been hoarding money instead of spending it on player payroll. Further, he made his MLB debut in 06 so he isn’t going to be a FA this off-season, and given what Florida wanted from the Braves for Cody Ross, imagine what they would want for Dan Uggla.

All you detractors of my commentary. It stings like a bitch doesn’t it? With the shallow nonsense you guys put up here it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. Back when you were losing to the Pirates as the thought the Phils were coming on soiled alot of Braves britches it was a microcosm of the Braves history. That’s when I decided to take a look at these blogs and watch all of the verbal shipjumping. I’ve only been on for 3 weeks and the Phils seemingly picked up a game every day since. Your comments are so lifeless now that it’s obvious you can’t help but make the playoffs it was hilarious watching the the Phils pass them so effortlessly. Going 17-3 at one point just meant the Braves are bar none the most fold the tent team in baseball history based on their unprecedented impersonation of a division champ. All I know is I’m very sedate getting ready to watch the Phils do what they do in the playoffs. You can’t feel very confident with the linup Cox is now forced to throw out there. Whoever is playing the Braves is probably going over the Phillies scouting while they’re hammering the Braves.

Its certainly no guarantee that Ankiel will be on a roster. This year hasn’t exactly screamed “Sign Me!” to other teams. He’s, at best, a fourth outfielder, but because of his service time in the bigs, he would be an expensive fourth outfielder.
