I mean, that’s just awful f’n baseball. Why the f wouldnt you bunt there? He’s a good bunter and hasnt had a hit in weeks. Plus, he pulls EVERYTHING. So it’s not like you can count on Gonzo to hit it to the second baseman.
Just makes zero sense. Would have Ross up right now with a runner on third and one out. WTF.

Oh well. Still have a 3-run lead with six outs to go … just cant fathom how Gonzalez isnt bunting in that spot. If he was red-hot, I’d understand giving him a swing to drive in the run. But dude has been hitting like Alex Trebek the last two weeks …. so why not have him do the one thing he’s been good at lately? And move the runner over? Would have likely changed the whole dynamic of the inning.

I suspect he’d look like Logan Morrison just looked in LF. His bat would like great in the lineup, but in LF? In any case, I’d be surprised to see that happen.

Uggla can barely play 2nd. If you think Melky looks bad in left imagine what Uggla would do. He has already stated that he wants to stay at 2nd.

If we can save a little money by trading Lowe for a bat, then my top 3 in the rotation would be Huddy, Hanson, and JJ. I think Minor will get first shot at the fifth spot, since he is a first round pick, and he is left handed. But if he doesnt earn it, I think Beachy will.
For my 4th spot in the rotation, I am actually open to bringing Javy Vazquez back. With the kind of year he had this season, I think he will have to take a pay cut for next season, and with the success he had here in ATL, I think he can be convinced to take a 2 year deal to pitch here (2nd year for more money and a mutual option).

I’d love to see Uggla in LF next year. Would address out biggest need – a 30 HR guy. If he has the athletic ability to play 2B, even if it is in mediocre fashion, I’d guess he could handle LF. I doubt he would agree to that, however. And I assume it would take 2 top tier pitching prospects to get him and I don’t think we can do that. He’s not a FA is he?

we got these 3 young guys (Kimbrell,Dunn and Venters) who are not only very promising and are getting a lot of experience in pressure situations their rookie years and doing pretty well

It’s been way too long since the Braves were in the playoffs said Jim Powell on Braves radio this afternoon.
Indeed it has Jim.
Of course, it was John Scheurholz who four years ago made the promise to all Braves fans that 2006 was just a “bump in the road.”

We’re now on year five and still no division title.
But hey if we’re lucky we might get to win the wild card!

If the Braves can employ Lonnie Smith, Ryan Klesko, Matt Diaz and Eric HInske as left-fielders, they could certainly do the same for Uggla. Could he be any worse than those guys?

I lie Glavine in the booth. I think he needs more practice. When he started doing TV I thought he was too quiet, but he got better as the season went on. He’s one of my all-time favorite Braves, so I am biased.
