That dude in the stands looked like Steven Colbert.
Brave4life- We almost had it

Chip Caray on when Peter Moylan struck out Brad Davis to end the inning: “And the way he’s pitching lately, he’s moving away from AC/DC and closer to Elle McPherson on the Australian export list.” How long have you been waiting to use that one, Chip? What an IDIOT.
Boo Boo AKA THAWK – D Lowe is a BIG game hunter…… you know anyone with a place to rent down there or a room to rent to an out of sorts, but nice Aussie with tax problems
so weekend tickets pretty much sold out
Lowe’s line: 5-2/3 inn, 7 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 9 Ks. Threw 63 strikes in 99 pitches
September 29th, 20106:31 pm
I have been looking at standings, who do we root for in ESPN game tonight?
September 29th, 20106:32 pm
more runs, please
AC/DC >>>>>>>>>>>> Elle
Now if it was Elle’s mum… woo Elle’s mum >>> AC/DC by a little
Ac/Dc with Bon … no-one except Cold Chisel comes close
I know its early, but if Lowe pitches well in the post-season, would it be worthwhile to explore the trade market for him?
With Chipper’s $14 mil coming back, Lowe’s $15 mil could go a long way towards filling other needs, if there is another team out there that feels like Lowe of next season will be the Lowe of Septemeber 2010.
Naturally. Why would we have wanted that one to land a foot to the left?

Braves29-if the Phils rested all of their stars they wouldn’t be able to field a team. Check ESPN.com, then MLB, then power rankings and see who they rate the best team in baseball. Braves rated #8 but that’s before you lost your best player. Can’t see them winning a game in playoffs but if you check out their playoff history that’s not a shock. This is the epitoime of backing in as I heard Halladay isn’t even pitching and Hammels 2-3 innings. You have the Phils success to thank for an easy path to playoffs. Will you please put down the $20.00 or whatever they charge for playoff tickets. That would be embarressing to not sell out the only playoff game they’ll play. I said a week ago with the way the schedule is, Phils clinching and SD/SF series, there’s no way they won’t back in. You better hope you play Cincy as SF would sweep. Phils could care less who they play. 4th year in a row and I don’t want to hear 14 as you were an embaressment winning 7% of the World series once making playoffs. That’s got to be a record of futility. I live 750 miles from Philly and I’ll bet I’ve been to more Phils games than you consistent bloggers have been to Braves games. Like I’ve said in the past it’s like a Led Zepplin concert at Phils game, Neil Diamond at Turner Field. The food at Phils game better than the psuedo Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I’ve been to lots of them in Buckhead as the industry my company owns has to go to Atlanta for trade shows.
Lowe’s last 5 starts: 1.17 ERA, 30-2/3 innings, 30 hits, 4 runs, 1 HR, 3 walks, 29 strikeouts.
Well Lowe certainly upped his value with how he pitched down the stretch.
Don’t think he upped it to 15 mil though.
September 29th, 20106:34 pm
…. as far as team willing to trade for him
About time Mr. Heyward DROVE a ball again.
September 29th, 20106:35 pm
Feel free to go back home anytime.
Rob from SC
Are they working with Heyward on hitting the inside fastball?
I like Lowe starting game 1 of nlds if we make it.
McFann :Ô: :Ô: :ô:
September 29th, 20106:36 pm
DOB McCann has hit….183 (13-for-71) with 23 strikeouts in those RISP situations with two outs.
T. M. I. YEGTH!!!
.304 (21-for-69) with RISP and less than two outs
That is bettah.
This has to be Diaz’s last AB right? Put Ankiel in for defense … move Melky to left?
Nope…I’ve only been back in Atlanta a year and a half now, so most of the cats that I knew from my early school days are either Married or live 40+ miles away therefore I don’t visit a lot of people out here…
who do we root for in ESPN game tonight?
One thing about this team is incredible, how they manage to win so many games scoring in just one inning in so many of them? just look at today and last night!! (and Monday we only scored in two of 11!!). Its amazing…
This is the epitoime of backing in as I heard Halladay isn’t even pitching and Hammels 2-3 innings.
So your sweep against us was the epitome of gift wrapped because we started Beachy and Minor to start the series and then you barely eked out the last win 1-0 on the back of a horrible defensive play by Nate McLouth. The art of spin. It goes both ways.
Well. This one’s on the bullpen. Looks like the Oh is done for the day.
September 29th, 20106:37 pm
Offense still needs to wakeup
Philly Fanatic – peasants are always welcome here
heyward looks bad. he needs a couple days off.
Heyward sure is struggling
September 29th, 20106:38 pm
Manolo … its incredible.
Through 26 innings of this series, Braves have scored in four.
And still stand a good shot of sweeping the thing — if bullpen holds on.
LetGlausPlay (AKA Brava)
Philly Phreak, do you really have nothing better to do than come on a Braves blog and brag while denigrating everyone here? You are a pathetic excuse for a human being. I hope your Phillies phail epically. Not that you’ll come on here if they do, but I’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you are curled up in a corner somewhere sobbing like the little beeatch that you are.
LTBF depends, who’s playing on ESPN?
September 29th, 20106:39 pm
It’s hilarious the Phillies fans make fun of our only WS title since they don’t have many more trophies.
Yeah but, he’s still not hittin’ his weight.
Why do you care so much about the braves attendance? Best home record in the majors, they just flat out get it done at home. It’d be great if their was some great link between sellouts and actual on the field success. Sellouts are a plus, however they are not a precursor for winning. Trust me, I could give a crap about what you do in philly or what they do anywhere else. Why you care so much about Atlanta is beyond me.
Does anyone want Joe Torre Back Next Year….?
I want Ozzie Guillen
September 29th, 20106:40 pm
Ari @ SF
Old Brooks ain’t exactly Mr. Smooth over there at third is he?
Big first out though.
I Miss Ted Turner
Boo Boo – ty… where u hanging 4 playoffs, I am gonna try to get there for Thursday 4 sure
I will be the movie star good looking Aussie cat in Braves gear…. at the Chophouse
Good Job Petey Pablo!
Come On Vennie Macc!
September 29th, 20106:41 pm
Moylan replaced by Dunn with one out in 7th. Moylan’s done strong work lately, notwithstanding last night’s home by Uggla
Jonny deserves serious consideration for ROY.
I actually have no problem being used today. I wanna clinch this thing asap. Then I can rest.
I miss ted turner
no, Mike Dunn
Go Phuck yourself.
September 29th, 20106:42 pm
Unless Braves are playing on ESPN and that’s the only channel it comes on, I will not watch ESPN AT ALL!
“where u hanging 4 playoffs, I am gonna try to get there for Thursday 4 sure”
I haven’t thought about that yet… I might go hang at the Hudson Grille in Brookhaven and create a group on here that would like to join me…
If the Braves don’t make the playoffs, it would be hysterical if Bobby in his final post game comments let us know what he really thinks.
OH, OK. Jim Powell announced Venters. Thanks.
September 29th, 20106:43 pm
Way to go DLowe. I know you have been much maligned, but man you are stepping up your game when we need it most! Great job!
Jake W. – great post at 6:36!
i Frech Thank you
I watch ESPN a lot
Go Phuck yourself.”
September 29th, 20106:44 pm
Old Brooks ain’t exactly Mr. Smooth over there at third is he? — chilidog75
Conrad’s not paid to be smooth. He’s paid to be dirty and stun unsuspecting pitchers.
He deserved it.
September 29th, 20106:45 pm
No Farnesworth today. Unless we get a bigger lead.
Who did he think was running? Good grief? Have a little urgency, rook.
Damn Mental Error GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!
don’t the cubbies sell out just about every game? and what is their record?
the attendance argument means nada, zero, zilch.
September 29th, 20106:46 pm
What were you thinking?
Dunn took that little crow-hop, shoulda just taken one stride and threw.
Dunn’s been impressive on the mound, though. Another great young arm for Bravos.
I do NOT Want To See FarnsWorthLess!
Oh Lord. That little BS dribbler is going to lead to Kyle F’n Farnsworth pitching to Dan Uggla as the potential tying run. Yikes.
Throw some strikes!
Farnsworth is warming up… ummmmmmm… crap.
Anybody wanna see Farnsworth v Uggla with the game on the line?
September 29th, 20106:47 pm
LTBF — Rather than making those few of us who don’t know who’s playing on ESPN tonight, why not just say who the two teams are?
Gary O — Re trading Lowe in the offseason: I think they at least have to look at what they can get in return, especially if they could get a good LF bat. The question then becomes, who is in our rotation next season? Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Minor (yeesh), then who? Beachy? Kawakami?
At the same time, it’d be great to have Lowe’s money off the books, b/c that could then give us the resources to sign a guy like Jayson Werth or Carl Crawford.
get Kimbrel up
Interesting Stat of the Day: If The Braves win today’s game & Giants & Padres lose tonight & tommorrow, Braves clinch wildcard tommorrow. Braves would have 90 wins, Giants 89 wins, and Padres 87 wins. Padres would have to sweep to get to 90 wins, but Giants would only have 89 wins thus giving Braves wildcard even even Braves lose last 3.
I actually think Brooks isn’t even paid. At least, not with money. Frank gives him a can of beans a fifth of bourbon every week for his services, and that’s what fuels His Clutchness’ bombs.
Man, updating my damn phone is taking forever! (Then again, maybe I should do it more then once a year?)
thats strike 4
Our Bullpen Has been Da Truth This Year! Nuff Said!
And will get better next year!
September 29th, 20106:48 pm
He Dunn it!!
Thank God! Nice job, rook. Whew. Uggla leading off.
Nice work, Dunn!
Good job there Dunn!
cabravesfan Your comment is awaiting moderation.
Wow- how did that happen?? Guess I have a new name…
September 29th, 20106:49 pm
We need more runs!
It’s got to be Kimbrel in the 8th doesnt it?
Are there any other viable options?
a few runs would not hurt, Braves
Why not? Except for the other night, Farnsworth has been doing pretty good
HaHa …..nice description.
Dunn — DANG! Lookin’ good.
DOB’s right, Brooksy ain’t paid to look all smooth and shiny over there. That’s what A-Rod’s paid for. That’s why they call this kid Raw Dog.
Back to Dunn — any chance they look at making him a starter? I know that he hasn’t started since 2008, but….
September 29th, 20106:51 pm
THawk, ok will go there if any probs with tickets
September 29th, 20106:52 pm
