Chip Caray on when Peter Moylan struck out Brad Davis to end the inning: “And the way he’s pitching lately, he’s moving away from AC/DC and closer to Elle McPherson on the Australian export list.” How long have you been waiting to use that one, Chip? What an IDIOT.

I know its early, but if Lowe pitches well in the post-season, would it be worthwhile to explore the trade market for him?

With Chipper’s $14 mil coming back, Lowe’s $15 mil could go a long way towards filling other needs, if there is another team out there that feels like Lowe of next season will be the Lowe of Septemeber 2010.

Braves29-if the Phils rested all of their stars they wouldn’t be able to field a team. Check ESPN.com, then MLB, then power rankings and see who they rate the best team in baseball. Braves rated #8 but that’s before you lost your best player. Can’t see them winning a game in playoffs but if you check out their playoff history that’s not a shock. This is the epitoime of backing in as I heard Halladay isn’t even pitching and Hammels 2-3 innings. You have the Phils success to thank for an easy path to playoffs. Will you please put down the $20.00 or whatever they charge for playoff tickets. That would be embarressing to not sell out the only playoff game they’ll play. I said a week ago with the way the schedule is, Phils clinching and SD/SF series, there’s no way they won’t back in. You better hope you play Cincy as SF would sweep. Phils could care less who they play. 4th year in a row and I don’t want to hear 14 as you were an embaressment winning 7% of the World series once making playoffs. That’s got to be a record of futility. I live 750 miles from Philly and I’ll bet I’ve been to more Phils games than you consistent bloggers have been to Braves games. Like I’ve said in the past it’s like a Led Zepplin concert at Phils game, Neil Diamond at Turner Field. The food at Phils game better than the psuedo Italian restaurants in Atlanta. I’ve been to lots of them in Buckhead as the industry my company owns has to go to Atlanta for trade shows.

This is the epitoime of backing in as I heard Halladay isn’t even pitching and Hammels 2-3 innings.

So your sweep against us was the epitome of gift wrapped because we started Beachy and Minor to start the series and then you barely eked out the last win 1-0 on the back of a horrible defensive play by Nate McLouth. The art of spin. It goes both ways.

Why do you care so much about the braves attendance? Best home record in the majors, they just flat out get it done at home. It’d be great if their was some great link between sellouts and actual on the field success. Sellouts are a plus, however they are not a precursor for winning. Trust me, I could give a crap about what you do in philly or what they do anywhere else. Why you care so much about Atlanta is beyond me.

LTBF — Rather than making those few of us who don’t know who’s playing on ESPN tonight, why not just say who the two teams are?

Gary O — Re trading Lowe in the offseason: I think they at least have to look at what they can get in return, especially if they could get a good LF bat. The question then becomes, who is in our rotation next season? Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Minor (yeesh), then who? Beachy? Kawakami?

At the same time, it’d be great to have Lowe’s money off the books, b/c that could then give us the resources to sign a guy like Jayson Werth or Carl Crawford.

Interesting Stat of the Day: If The Braves win today’s game & Giants & Padres lose tonight & tommorrow, Braves clinch wildcard tommorrow. Braves would have 90 wins, Giants 89 wins, and Padres 87 wins. Padres would have to sweep to get to 90 wins, but Giants would only have 89 wins thus giving Braves wildcard even even Braves lose last 3.
