D-Lee hasnt been worth a flip with runners on base
What? You forgot about the double with McCann on base yesterday?
Tomahawkin’, it could always be worse. It could be Lady GaGa.
Man, Lee really leaves a lot of runners on. If we ever get a cleanup man that at least drives runners home once a game, this offense will be very productive, for the 1st three hitters always seem to be on base one way or another. Anyone have an idea of Lee’s average with runners in scoring position, and how many times in those opportunities has he struck out? Seems like a a lot.

Stay off the blog! Bad things happen when you’re around!
P-Town Brave ©
Sadly guys, Lee is hitting ~ .350 w/ RISP (if i recall from a stat yesterday)
September 29th, 20106:07 pm
The Derek Lee trade has been a let down so far. Hopefully he get something going soon.
As a Brave, D-Lee is 8-for-18 w/ RISP and less than 2 outs, but he’s 2-for-15 with 8 strikeouts with RISP and 2 outs
Nice to see the 2nd base ump make an effort to get out of the way…

DLee >>>> Glaus
Dang, I am going to be so out of shape by next week. It’s been raining most of the week up here. It’s supposed to get much worse, especially in areas of flooding which is most of Norfolk.
cab – I should have started doing that 16 months ago…
THawkin or anyone – the little Aussie dog is back in NY for good but may need to move down south… anyone have a room to let or know of anyone who does in ATL… especially starting next week
Back from oblivion, remember Jorge Sosa? He’s pitching now for Marlins
we pretty much got lee for nothing so anything we get from him is nice
September 29th, 20106:09 pm
Dobi – Lee’s 3rd strike was a BALLLLLLLLLLLL
Hey now! That’s not nice!!
DLowe through 5 innings in 85 pitches…
Should be able to go 1 more inning on 3 days rest…
Outstanding work so far
BravesFanChris26 – “So now with the rest and time for refocusing, Hinske and Conrad are well fresh for the stretch run. It is starting to show too.”
Indeed it is, and what great timing!
September 29th, 20106:10 pm
Maybe P-Town. I thought Derek Lee would be hitting with a little more power than this. He does play good defense.
The Braves have an express trip to the playoffs- No Hanley, Josh Johnson, and a Phillies team resting its stars. The planets are definitely aligned properly!
By the way, Lee’s not alone in hitting well with RISP and less than two outs, but not with RISP and two outs. McCann has hit .304 (21-for-69) with RISP and less than two outs, but .183 (13-for-71) with 23 strikeouts in those RISP situations with two outs.
i thought sosa was going to be a great pitcher for the braves
Whatever y’all are feeding Derek Lowe, it’s working.
DOB, thanks for the response. Does it sound reasonable for the Braves to add a player like Wes Timmons or Matt Young for the rest of the week, in case they need a late inning pinch runner or defensive help, like Booby mnetioned yesterday, on his concern with using Diory?
Brave4life- We almost had it
Any word on who is pitching for this Phils for the upcoming series???
September 29th, 20106:11 pm
lowe is earning his paycheck…… how one month can change a lot of things..
Light ‘im up Rossy!!
September 29th, 20106:12 pm
Rossy Clowning! Nice!
Has anyone called “ballgame” for FL yet?
Could this be the night for J C Boscan?
Please Bobby, let Ross play more.
Ross man o man!!!! sweet!
That’s just bizzarre. About McCann and Lee.
I know there’s a bit more pressure with two outs and RISP, but for the results to be THAT different?
That’s just odd. Doesn’t make sense.
September 29th, 20106:13 pm
can ross play LF? hahahaha
Fortunately I have been able to avoid hearing Lady Gaga…! I hear She is not that Great To Listen To…?
ross has 10 dbls all year and 3 today
3-3 with 3 doubles… awesome.
Wow, look at Ross. We certainly have to give Wren credit for this bench, its excellent. He just needs to get us a solid LF this off season…
Dang! Just missed it.
Lowe will have a chance to help himself here, I’m thinking. Can’t imagine they’ll pitch to Melky with a base open.
September 29th, 20106:14 pm
Wish I could go back and replay a few of the excellent comments excoriating Bobby for not starting Mac today, but, alas, I am theoretically working…
McFatty sucks…. hi McHunny, you there ??
September 29th, 20106:15 pm
“Lowe will have a chance to help himself here, I’m thinking. Can’t imagine they’ll pitch to Melky with a base open.”
I can’t believe I just read that… or that they are intentionally walking Melky. Is that his first IBB ever?
September 29th, 20106:16 pm
Got Infante leading off next inning … against Sosa I would imagine … that would be a nice time to tack on a few more.
I Miss Ted Turner
David Freaking Ross!
And did Melky just draw an intentional walk? The end times.
Lets go Cubbies
September 29th, 20106:17 pm
Thanks For 411 On How Our Run Producers have Sucked with 2 Outs and R.I.S.P. Especially the last 6 weeks…That has been a big difference as opposed to May and June…Not to mention a huge reason of our undoing to the Phillies
Throw in Gonzo to that mix as well, He Sucks!
Brave4life- We almost had it …..Phillies article mentions Kendrick pitching against Beachy on Friday… http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100928&content_id=15178302¬ebook_id=15178408&vkey=notebook_phi&c_id=phi
once again nothing with RISP
The Braves have an express trip to the playoffs- No Hanley, Josh Johnson
The Marlin’s going away present to Bobby since they were too cheap to get him anything at his last visit to Fish country
Today if this lead holds, is the perfect day to rest Wagner and Venters. Send them to the dressing room early.

Has anyone called “ballgame” for FL yet?”
Go back and take a look at the 4:44 posts.
It looks like there’s 30 guys in the bullpen warming up haha.
I can’t read this because I’m not an insider, but ESPN’s main article has a picture of Hinske and the caption “How are the banged-up Braves still leading the wild-card race? With pixie dust, writes Buster Olney”

Cholly was on XM radio today….kendrick pitches friday,he said Hamels will pitch 2 or 3 innings on his day …..no word on oswalt.
Derreck Lee has hit BA 314/OBP .402/SLG .486/OPS .888 with 6 doubles, 2 HR’s and 11 RBI’s in his last 23 games. Who is doing more?
Our playoff starts Thur-fri- sunday
Halliday will not pitch this series
September 29th, 20106:20 pm
“Cholly was on XM radio today….kendrick pitches friday,he said Hamels will pitch 2 or 3 innings on his day …..no word on oswalt.”
They said on radio earlier that neither Halliday nor Oswalt will pitch again ’til the playoffs. Good for us.
damn lowe is throwing the ball well today
This has got to be the worst player profile picture ever.
Did Jorge Sosa sneeze during the photographer’s last picture before his batteries ran out?
Actually Lowe might stay in the game longer today, because he won’t pitch again in 6 or 7 days.
September 29th, 20106:21 pm
Tomahawkin, the only song I like of hers is Poker face, but only if Cartman off of South Park sings the song.
Or maybe it was taken while Jorge was asleep

In WC race who do we root for in Ari@SF game tonight on ESPN?

I already posted that article here early in this blog
thanks, was hoping we would get Blanton cause we SUCK against Kyle Kendrick
I for one am hoping that Derek Lee hits some big home runs for us in the playoffs. He is the kind of hitter that can carry the whole team if he’s going good.
I think Lowe’s getting tired.
They said on radio earlier that neither Halliday nor Oswalt will pitch again ’til the playoffs. Good for us
Makes perfect sense for them, I would have been shocked if they did pitch Halladay. He’s got a lot of innings, I don’t believe he’s ever pitched into the postseason and of the big three he was the one who had been struggling somewhat for his standards.
one more Lowe
September 29th, 20106:24 pm
Ross has career-high three doubles in three ABs today…
Conrad’s homer was not only his first before 7th inning, but also his first in 33 ABs vs. lefties this season. Has 7 in 112 ABs vs. righties
This is scary. Took about 10 pitches to get this kid out last time.
Sorry nolie…I just thought the pixie dust part sounded funny
I’d have to load-up on one to knock Uggla out. Guy’s a “stump.”
As Much As I have Bashed Lowe All Season He has earned his money the last 6 weeks more than anytime as a starter at the Most Importnat time
September 29th, 20106:25 pm
Lucky it’s not 4-3. Terrible pitch. Just spun right over home plate.
Lowe getting big standing ovation as he comes off field
Damn good job Derek!
Standing O from T-Hawkin
CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!
Nice outing D-Lowe. Well done.
September 29th, 20106:26 pm
Chip Caray on when the crowd started cheering when Cox came out to pull Lowe: “Not sure who they’re cheering for more, Bobby Cox or Derek Lowe.” What an idiot.
Come On! Raise UP!
good work Lowe
That’s cool to see. Good for the folks at the Ted. Derek deserves it!
Tomahawkin, that he did. I am proud of him this year.
Thank you Derrick!!!! Great job by him and Timmy going on short rest !!
And A huge thank you to Tommy(I am bleeding, but you are not takin me out) Hanson!
September 29th, 20106:27 pm
I haven’t heard Any Lady Gaga Songs…!
I’m Asking you and D.O.B., Are they Worth Buying?

Corky Miller’s Beer Gut – damn lowe is throwing the ball well today
He’s been throwing the ball well all month and should the Braves win today he’ll move to 5-0 in September with an ERA under 1.50.
Mr. Clutch???? Ummmmm Yeah.
Sorry nolie…I just thought the pixie dust part sounded funny McJeff
nuttin’ to be sorry about mac, just letting you know in case you wanted to go to the first page here and read it
September 29th, 20106:29 pm
Good job Peter!!
Nice Moylan. Nice.
Big out there … now some insurance please!
Put this bad boy out of reach.
Its It Me or has Petey Pablo been one of the More Underrated Relievers in the League the last 4 years?
